If they ever find a cure to the spread, they’ll probably show up to help in big fights for Mileena and the Outworld army. Tarkatans seem to keep their sensibilities for at least a short while or as long as years or even decades, if Baraka’s case is a regular occurrence. If so, just fixing the issues with the loss of cognitive function could make it so Tarkat is essentially just a thing that gives you arm blades and sharp teeth. We never hear of any downsides of the disease itself other than the eventual setting in of feral instinct, but it seems like it can be controlled pretty effectively by strong enough people, since Mileena and especially Baraka seem to be able to outright ignore the influence to a degree. Tarkatans could definitely still become a race of soldiers, but as elite warriors with unique physiology instead of savage tribes of hunters. The old Tarkatans killed on tradition; the new ones kill against their will because of sickness. Solve that and combine it with the spread of Tarkat being universal to Outworlders, and it could mean that we see armies of mutated super soldiers made up of former victims of Tarkat. Love that baraka has friends. Its not just "ew feral monster" its "bro remember that time? Good shit"
Baraka being mad at Lui Kang is understandable
Lui Kang turned Tarkatans into infected than people. In a sense, it allowed them to see compassion. But cons from this change made people have pain.
Personal theory, all tarkatans in the previous timeline are fated to be infected
Really, out of everyone, Baraka is mostly respectful, sometimes even funny. Sindel and Liu Kang are the ones he is most angry at and, really, that is understandable. They each effectively ruined his life
it was probably the only way to give him a meaningful life than be killed as a grunt in every timeline having accomplished nothing
It may not even be a disease. It could be a genetic affliction. Maybe Liu Kang tried to give the Tarkatans a place among the other Outworld races by masking their true natures, but now the genes are starting to kick back in.
@@rosesweetcharlotte His beef against Sindel is certainly understandable, but I suspect Liu Kang's situation is far more complex than we know.
@@Brasswatchman Well, if he can take powers away from an elder god (Reference: Sindel Chapter).
Why didn't he just made Baraka normal?
Why did Tarkat have to exist?
If he can race swap Mileena and Shao, why didn't he?
Seeing as how they made _Reptile_ hot and how Edenians in general are an entire race of hot people, I wouldn't be surprised if in the future, they'll introduce a cured Baraka who might be hot too
I love how pretty much most of the most vile characters in MK history have been redeemed in this new timeline especially Sindel and Baraka
This Baraka makes me wanna give him a big hug
Damn hearing these interactions, I want to see how Baraka looks like without the illness and not have it
As someone whos loved baraka for a long time..Im so glad hes getting the character depth he deserves
Man the personality overhauls for so many of the main cast is insane. Like it feels like we’re looking at completely new people.
Old Timeline Baraka😒: Beta male. Regular mindless goon with extra steps, lack of personality, generic kill, murder, eat, and Yes master mindset. The Embodiment of ugly inside and out.
New Era Baraka 😎: Giga Chad. own personality, hopes, and dreams. More fleshed out character. Makes own decisions. Does everything he does for the sake of others. Sympathetic backstory. Humble. True definition of don’t judge a book by its cover.
0:29 This interaction sounds like MK1 Baraka interacting with a Baraka from the previous games where Tarkatans were a more normal race instead of Edenians afflicted with a disease to me.
Tfw you realize why Kronika turned certain people in her timelines into jobbers. She didn't want this version of Baraka running around. No matter how she changed things, she could not alter his sense of duty and his loyalty to those that earned it. His desire to fight was always a rejection of being a victim. She could only twist it to her designs.
Awesome take and efficient use of the word jobber
Barakas laughter makes me laugh to lmao
Why defend a realm that shuns you?
Once a outworld's soldier, always a outworld's soldier
Wow
Semper fi.
5:08 "28 days later" 😂
They finally did justice to Baraka as a character but it breaks my heart knowing that he may die in the next game either to Tarkat's terminal stage or by sacrificing himself to save others while going berserk due to his symptoms worsening😢
This new timeline is stupid
I’ve always thought Baraka was one of the coolest characters in MK, and with MK1 giving him an actual character and such a tragic backstory he is definitely my favorite character now
5:10
I can’t believe they made this reference to the movie
12:20 is a genuine laugh XD
Baraka laughing at Johnny is too wholesome 😂😂😂
Rain: if i knew of a cure. Id tell you
Also rain: i got cleansing water to help with that
Baraka: BOI!!!
0:35 Baraka... you really gonna do me like this Baraka!!?!?
Dashie in da house
Nice preference to Dashie lol
Really wasn’t expecting baraka to go from z tier to actual favorite mk character, fuckin wild
"Why defend a realm that shuns you"
"Once an outworld soldier, always an outworld soldier"
Damn, this Baraka a real one. Shows no matter what, his heart is to his home.
Mk1 Baraka: I want to help my people who are inflicted with my disease, even if a cure is not made soon I just want to help my people.
Og Baraka: I want to eat your face!
4:30
if only they still have a third line, Baraka would've said 'yes'
"There's a reason we dont own mirrors." Hardest punch line since Hit em Up. 😂😂😂😊

Before illness of Tarkat, soldier, merchant, tribune and father. This man has an interest life he had.
I would love if they had the 3 dialogue in this game
Same
I find Baraka very attractive ❤
Tarkattans went from a cannibal species to an infected victims
Leperous outcasted!people of Outworld
Bro i want to find that cure right now
It’s good that Liu Kang is still trying to give Baraka the best life he can, and has even reserved him a spot in heaven
16:28 Oof. That hits hard.
