Been challenged by this piece for years and years and have promised myself once and for all to keep at it and have it learned by the time I'm 60. I've got a year then became 59th was a few days ago. Your guidance will help me tremendously in my self imposed task. Thanks for your knowledge, Simon. Very much appreciated.
Thank you, will try to learn this from you.Keep giving us more of your lessons, hope to get some of yr talented skill some day even though the days are far away.
I was about to look for a tutorial for this and was elated to find you'd made one for it! Just finished working through your wonderful Asturias tutorial (and will probably spend the next year working on playing it clean)!
the original version is the easiest one i think. the other so called ''easy'' arrangements are really harder than the original. impossible to get sustainibility between parts. grateful thanks for sharing us this version with tutos
That opening chord can also be played as a simple A minor chord with the tremolo played on the first string if you are having difficulties with the stretch. Good luck.
Thanks for this Simon great tutorial just about to move onto part 2. Is this even doable without fingers nails (I bite em)?? I can do this slowly and I’m under the impression it will progress eventually. I’m hoping the tremolo can be played nicely with the flesh. Thanks again mate
Of course you can play the Tremolo without nails - Tarrega and most of his pupils were no nail players because they said you got a sweeter tone, also Ida Presti and Alexander Lagoya were no nail players. I think the only student of Tarrega that used nails was Llobet. Most classical players use nails mainly from the influence o Segovia.
Bolton Guitar Studio well it’s good to know. My main problem is dry skin. When using the flesh to play you need to have a soft touch and having dry hands doesn’t help. I need to use cream before playing 😅 anyway I’ll crack on with this and see how it goes.
@@S_dott Friends of mine who play without nails develope calluses on the right hand fingers but but with practice get a beautiful [ if not loud ] tone. Lute players and harpists also play without nails so don't despair just persevere and I'm sure you'll manage to play.
@@boltonguitarstudio3115 yeah I'll keep working on it. Guitar taught me many things about life. Its a wonderful instrument. Thank you for your teaching. God bless.
It s clear enough and many people are benefiting from it. I ve taught pieces like La Catedral to students who want on to perform it. Although I knew how to play and teach the third movement I would never have attempted to perform it. Simon has done a very good job here.

Thanks
Can't play this without getting better at tremolo.
Yes you need to put in lots of slow practice on the tremolo. It is a life time study to play guitar.
