Rumor has it that when Tárrega played his piece in concert for the first time nobody clapped but most people were in tears.
Brilliant
a review on one of my vinyls said about sr tarrega,,,,,, he used to oractise scales and exercises with a stop watch perched against a matchbox w a stogie half smoked on top,,,,,he and a GF used to concertise together, on one occasion during a difficult passage, the girl took a shortcut,,winking at tarrega in her slyness, tarrega broke off the romance,, in music and love he was a persnickety fellow, ( which record it was,,cannot recall, my turntable is out of order too)
played this piece when I managed an old brownstone,,fellas upstairs an upcoming buyer at EF hutton,,,came down to pay rent,,the boys would call down before knocking on the door,, or reporting a mechanical problem, I was practising in the tiled kitchen rather nice acoustics it had, he came down to pay up for the month, listened to the piece start to finish,,"man I never heard classical music before,,, that gave me goose bumps',,,,this piece by tarrega imparts something amazing in people,
I am not ashamed to say it brought me to tears... and this on RUclips. I cannot imagine what effect a live performance would have.
Xuefei just made a tear come from my eye
A perfect 𝘀𝘆𝗺𝗯𝗶𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘀 between player and instrument. Her love for the guitar has infused her personality, and she 𝙚𝙭𝙥𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙚𝙨 𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙞𝙣𝙣𝙚𝙧𝙢𝙤𝙨𝙩 𝙨𝙚𝙡𝙛 to the audience as she makes her guitar sing of her love for the instrument which she skilfully utilises to project her soul through her music. Immersed in her playing and at one with her instrument and self which has become over the years an extension of herself. She moves gracefully, light and nimble over 𝘁𝗵e 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀, 𝗲𝘅𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺 𝗮𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 of life and love. She is an exceptional human being in the skin of a musician/artist? Her tone, technique and musicianship are second to none. A superb player with a polished technique. Thank you for all the sublime entertaining moments of your musical performances, why, even Segovia himself would have fallen at your feet.♥ ( That is my opinion after being around for 59 years and listening to some of the most brilliant classical guitar players and attending many concerts.)
I just stopped working on my desk and listen to this by heart while eyes closed. what a magical experience
Her tremolo is just phenomenal. She is also very silent when moving her hands across the strings, hardly ever a squeak. Definitely my favourite new guard classical guitarist.
This is the most expressive, perfectly controlled, rendition of Alhambra I have ever heard.
Yes, her tremolo is very nice, and it's interesting to hear her change the tempo to add an affectionate feeling to the line. A unique rendition of this piece among the many available. Also Alexandra Whittingham does an outstanding performance with good sound quality like this one.
Beautiful piece, you play from heart and souls, I practice Recuerdos for years still found it very difficult, not the tremolo technique, but to express the piece with heart felt feelings and emotions, but you accomplish it with perfection.
This is by far the best playing of this piece that I have ever heard. Remarkably clean with smooth articulation. She understands the deepest meaning here and brings it out beautifully.
Hallo, that's right, i can feel this too...
@@tkinjapan3447 I am sorry, man. To put it gently, Yang's performance is probably ten years more mature than 朴's.
Absolutely! I've never heard such a fine performance of this piece and it has been a favorite of mine since 1964. I've listened to other artists and Francisco Tarrega is the best I've ever heard. She has a patient and loving touch.
I just listened to more than 10 renditions. Yang Xuefei wins the award for the best tremolo.
@@notetoalex pepe romero is the best tremolo and arpeggio master this universe has ever seen :))))))))
Yang is one of my favourite performers and she has a great tremolo. Jennifer Kim has the very best tremolo in my opinion at the moment.
Yang Xuefei’s tremolo is more musical than the other virtuosos that I have listened to. Others can play it fast and even, but Xuefei can add more musical elements by changing the tempo and dynamics.
@@Thefare1234 I agree she is very good.
@@tkinjapan3447 Very impressive. So clear with bass and treble separation. It all comes down to matter of taste now, which do you prefer?
Incredible!!! I have listened to dozens of famous guitarists playing this piece, but I can say that this is the most beautiful and deep emotional playing of the recuerdos. She is just a very tremendous guitar player.
I agree with you. If this is not perfection, then what is it?
I totally agree!!!! Likewise, I have heard it a zillion times, but this has a really inventive magic!
ruclips.net/video/viVl-G4lFQ4/видео.html
I totally agree with you!
absolutely stunning performance, the emotions she carrys as she said she dies make the instrument sings and pierce to the audience hearts
Probably It's the most beautiful "Recuerdos" which I've ever listened.
absolutely true
Enhorabuena!!!
I love the variations on tremolo you put into the piece. Far less mechanical, far more feeling results. Excellent. This is how the piece is to be played, breathing life into the work and making the listener's breath catch at certain expertly rendered parts. The blend of tremolo and slower staccato really makes this piece stand out. A beautiful rendition.
It is amazing. With every other interpretation the tremolo dictates the song - unmoving, consistent, unflappable. But here with her dynamics she breaks down the emotional boundaries of the tremolo and allows it to feel, in an emotional release.
You are one of the best classical guitar players. Your performance is so beautiful.
When it comes to playing Recuerdos de la Alhambra not many players can match the level Xuefei plays it at. Her interpretation is just phenomenal and her tremolo.....what can I say?
Muraji Kaori does. Both superb.
Beautiful music heard this when I was 6 or 7 years old ,my stepfather put on the record lo mejor de los --Indios tabajaras ,now I'm 54 and still got the record ,ty lady for your performance really enjoy it with all my memories of childhood ,good and bad
I did not think that anything could be perfect until I came across this! Xuefei Yang is the greatest treasure in the guitar world.
absolutely stunning rendition of 回憶
it doesn't get much finer than this. I've loved this piece since I first heard it on Christmas day 1964 (Segovia playing.) Xuefei Yang has a fine delicate touch that really gives the piece a soft and sentimental character; sweet melancholy is what it evokes in me. And tears, yes. Bravo.
Perfection with emotion and love , to play this signature’s piece by “Terrega”. He is very happy up there when he looking down !
xuefei is so fluid and relaxed in her technique, and it's flawless.
She's right. This piece made me fall in love with the classical guitar the first time I had the pleasure of listening to it in a live concert. I'm happy I attended.
Did you attend the performance in this video clip?
@@solewalk No I didn't. I meant when I attended a different classical guitar concert.
Extremely beautiful! I LOVE it! What a great guitar player!
the best interpretation of the Alhambra I have ever heard
I keep listening to it. So soothing and beautiful. She is a magnificent talent!
Xuefei Yang, nobody plays this art of music as well as you do. Ever since I saw and heard you play it in front of a noisy audience somewhere (a mall or whatever it was, with construction work going on on the outside) 8 years back, I have been i love with your beautiful and tender performance of this lovely piece of music. I have heard many others play it, but nobody compares to you! Great job! Great heart! Great emotions! Love!
agreed - never heard this classic piece played better
Xuefei, as an artist, you are the Rembrandt of guitarists. I love everything you play.
beautiful tremolo, it really speaks to us, a signature piect of classic guitar as you opined.
this one is her best, and i have listened to her alot !
Best feeling that I have had heard of this ... fantastic melody
Almost every rendition of this song becomes my favorite "at the time"! Beautifully done. Thanks for uploading.
Her expression through the strings are magnificent. Hands down best version I heard. So much feeling behind the strokes.
Brilliant performance, played with real feeling, which makes so much difference to its musical presentation. Too many well known guitarists rattle it off note perfect, way too fast with little or no expression. It starts in A minor which is a sombre beginning then moves into A Major, this creates the mood and one can imagine those memories of home and a times past, both sad and happy. I love this classical piece and is one of the few pieces I can play from memory on my concert and alto flutes with a guitarist. Thank you for sharing your wonderful presentation. Inspirational. 🤗😁🎼🇦🇺
Beautiful! Love the rubato she employs in this performance. And faultless tremolo.
This to my mind and ears is the best version I have heard on RUclips
Harry Verey I agree. It's daring how much she slows the tempo without breaking the illusion of a sustained melody. Her technique and tone are astounding. Better than John Williams' version in my opinion and I can't believe I'm saying that.
I have heard this played by many great guitar players but this is way above anyone I have heard and like you say to play it so slow and hold it together is wonderful I have heard Xuefei play this a number of times but this is the one I like the best.
She is a Goddess.
Alright. Now go hear Kyuhee Park
@@xperia9x727 Kyuhee Park is an accomplished player, but more technical in her rendition. Little of the emotion and interpretation is experienced in her performance as displayed in this unique presentation. Kyuhee does very well, but Francisco plays the soul behind the music.
One of my favourite performences of Alhambra
This lady has the X factor of classical guitar playing. No question about it. Fabulous!
Oh my goodness it’s too beautiful. It’s the tremolo beautiful on a guitar.
Quee RElindo .e encantan tus concierto gtacias
..and that's why she is the best...!
Hello good day, only beautiful musical theme, beautiful way of playing the guitar, congratulations XUEFEI YANG, YOUR fan Oscar.
I heard the piece countless times but I am always touched. Beautiful sound of tremolo. And I like very much the way of filming and presenting classical guitar here, professionally and with love. All the best to Guitar Canon.
beautiful rendition ... full of subtle feeling
¡Bravo! 👋👋👋👋👋
Beautiful interpretation, thanks maestro. Greeting from Toraja Indonesia.
Nice rendition of this beautiful guitar piece!
Magnifique interprétation, avec beaucoup de. Sensibilité...
sound like record in the studio!!!AMAZING!!!
Ms Xuefei Yang Thank you very much for this sublime interpretation, the best I have heard of this masterpiece... Again, thank you very much.
This is the best version I’ve ever listened ~~~
More than 10 years ago I listened to her playing this piece in one of her live performance. And frankly speaking I was not really impressed. What a change she has made since then. This is definitely best tremolo I've ever heard.
Hermosa!!!!!!!!!
Simply amazing , she goddess of classical guitar ! She express this master piece with great emotion . Priceless ....
So full of emotions, beautiful performance!
Beautiful! Thank you.
It is wonderful to hear a musician who has the fine control AND judgment to use tremolo thoughtfully and purposefully. Many guitarristas seem to have only one speed, as many violinists and singers have only one vibrato, either "ON" or "OFF." Xuefi Yang brings out an extraordinary richness and delicacy in this work that few other guitarists could manage. I am grateful for this performance and recording of what seems to be a "House Concert."
Beautiful! Thank you
Beautiful, expressive playing...thank you so much
Excellent 100% one of the best renditions I’ve ever heard!
Todo lo hace bien. Gracias Xuefei.
Oh, my, how stunning. Every moment of it.
Easily my favourite version.. magical sound and performance 👌
The sweetest and the most peaceful version of Alhambra that I have heard so far....
Just listened to at least a dozen versions of this piece & this is my favourite by far!
Love Xuefei Yang, so good
Wow! That was beautiful beyond words! Bravo!
wonderful, beautiful, peaceful. Brings a tear to my eye
QUE HERMOSO ESCUCHARTE GRACIAS
Magnifico...
This is the best I have heard so far!
Fantastica!!!
What a great guitarist! Thank you.
Linda canção e interpretação!
The tremolo techniques is outstanding! - It´s very beatiful. Thank you for that!
Her tremolo control adds another layer to this lovely piece.
Brilliant interpretation, expression and flawless technique! Wow!
What a splendid interpretation. Bravissimo!
Emocionante!!!
The best!!!
When she plays, the angels cry.
I've watched and listened to lots of different well known guitarists playing this, each adding their own unique flavour. However, for the vast majority, the 'repeating' tremolo pattern is easy to hear. It's rare indeed (and extremely difficult to accomplish) when the time spacing and evenness between each finger stroke is so perfectly equal that the listener can hear no pattern - the ultimate aim for all tremolo playing. Xuefei, here, is that rare example.
Magnifique et Bravo
So much feeling, unique rendition.
Simply wonderful.
Magnificent! Bravo. I love your rubato. Very effective and expressive...
Loved it I remember it as her Concert Encore in The OC
Certainly my main reference and inspiration to interpret This song
Che meraviglia...❤️
That's so beautiful!
Magnifique bravo !
Beautiful! Deeply emotional!
