50 masterpieces for the classical guitar
www.guitarcanon.com
The Guitar Canon presents an overview of literature for solo guitar: 50 of the most influential, iconic and popular works written (or transcribed) for this most beautiful instrument.
This initial list of 50 is a snapshot from the perspective of the five guitar professionals whose aim is to lay a basis for discussion.
Over the next 3 years, all the works on the Guitar Canon list will be filmed in HD quality by the team from De Gitaarsalon, in Enkhuizen, The Netherlands. Performed and intruduced by some of the top guitarists of the current generation, the films will be added as they appear, in no particularly (chronological) order.
We welcome the fact that these 50 Frames, both the choice of works and the performances presented here, will inevitably inspire a lively debate in the guitar scene. Come and join in!: www.guitarcanon.com .

beautiful tremolo, it really speaks to us, a signature piect of classic guitar as you opined.
Oh my goodness it’s too beautiful. It’s the tremolo beautiful on a guitar.
Magnificent! Bravo. I love your rubato. Very effective and expressive...

Hello good day, only beautiful musical theme, beautiful way of playing the guitar, congratulations XUEFEI YANG, YOUR fan Oscar.
She is very, very good. Be that as it may the rendition by Muraji Kaori is just a little bit smoother.
Fascinating piece, I remember hearing Julian Bream's recording from the late 1970's, beautiful sounds. Great to see somebody actually playing it live, I'm checking the score out just for fun too.
Sweetest instrument in the world, if played like this
Love you lots❤
QUE HERMOSO ESCUCHARTE GRACIAS
Tempo changes for expressive purposes are screwing up the piece.
Beautiful! Love the rubato she employs in this performance. And faultless tremolo.
I feel like I need to wear a Rolex to suit this mood!
Quee RElindo .e encantan tus concierto gtacias
Magnificent ooh la la
Stunning
Oh...indah sekali .ini sangat2 mendalam.
Che meraviglia...❤️
Very interesting and beautiful piece superbly played, outstanding videography and audio too. Great having an introduction .
Beautiful 😍
Not bad at all, but Muraji Kaori is a shade better.
Such powerful and musical tremolos !
it doesn't get much finer than this. I've loved this piece since I first heard it on Christmas day 1964 (Segovia playing.) Xuefei Yang has a fine delicate touch that really gives the piece a soft and sentimental character; sweet melancholy is what it evokes in me. And tears, yes. Bravo.
Finally, someone other than Segovia...
I've watched and listened to lots of different well known guitarists playing this, each adding their own unique flavour. However, for the vast majority, the 'repeating' tremolo pattern is easy to hear. It's rare indeed (and extremely difficult to accomplish) when the time spacing and evenness between each finger stroke is so perfectly equal that the listener can hear no pattern - the ultimate aim for all tremolo playing. Xuefei, here, is that rare example.
Beautiful piece, you play from heart and souls, I practice Recuerdos for years still found it very difficult, not the tremolo technique, but to express the piece with heart felt feelings and emotions, but you accomplish it with perfection.
I wonder whether she learnt to play the Pipa before starting to play the guitar. That would explain the impeccable tremolo.
Just listened to at least a dozen versions of this piece & this is my favourite by far!
I saw him play this 22 years ago...also from memory....in Cincinnati
One of my favourites also
2:37 so much for separation, Queen Elizabeth is still head of the Church, isn't she? So that's that!
Nota por nota, preciosa interpretación!!!!!!
Certainly my main reference and inspiration to interpret This song
