I go there every year and stay at Nichols Campground just a little way down the road. Y'all go to some of my favorite spots in that river.

Ive been fishing this stream for years each summer while visiting family in the area. And i have done amazing using the pautzke salmon eggs. One year i got extremely lucky and landed a rainbow that was 21 inches long. What a great body of water!

OMG, Watching this video took me back to the clear trout streams of the West Virginia mountains. Pure Gold memories! My Dad and I lived for fishing days and climbing the rocks near by. Guess you could say I was my Mom's daughter in fancy bows and my Dad's tomboy daughter. Was always the first one to grab for the tape measure, lol, I wanted to know exactly WHO caught the biggest one of the day!😁. Thanks for a great video! I'll be going there to fish this summer, for certain.🏕️🎣❤️

I’m not sure if you’ll see this but how do I get to this specific location? We spent HOURS today trying to find a good little spot to fish & couldn’t find anywhere. We saw the camp ground & was told to go to some trail down the road with a paved parking lot but it didn’t have any trout & seemed overfished.

      Ashley,
They stock a very large, several mile section of river. There's great trout fishing for many, many miles. If you call the Georgia DNR or US Forest Service they can tell you exactly where they start and stop stocking. We do know they stop stocking at the handicap pier. That's the bottom end.

I have been a huge fan of Berkley PowerBait since the late ’80s. Three weeks ago I saw the Pautzke team promoting their baits up on the Georgia mountains where my son and I go fish. Since I could not find Berkley PowerBait anymore, I decided to get the Pautzke fire baits to try. I must say they worked but not as good as the Berkley PowerBait. Tested in two different holes that they are almost guaranteed to catch trouts any time. The first pool I caught about 8 good size rainbows and browns with the Pauzke Fore Bait, but I couldn’t catch any in the second pool. I popped in with my last Berkley PowerBait in that second pool and bam! got back to back trouts. Fished Date: 6/28/2020. Charlies Creek aka Tallulah River.

Different baits are effective in each hole. Sometimes you need to try several baits in each hole to get them to bite. Thanks for sharing your experience.

Head to the Georgia DNR's website. Under the trout section it details exactly where the river is stocked.

@@rockytucker7480 There are actually a lot more holdovers that survive than you’d think. I’ve seen a few over 20 inches and the biggest they stock is around 15-16
