I hope everyone enjoyed North Georgia Trout Part 4! I made a playlist for the Georgia Series so you can watch all of the videos in order if you want. Part 5 drops on Friday!
I like everything about this video. Chill attitude, small stream natives, simple camping setups, music, respect for the fish, sense of adventure. Keep it up guys
I don't know how to fly fish for trout, but I love watching you guys, and you amaze me with the tiny pockets of water you are pulling them out of!! I am too old to hike like you guys, but I never would have thought there were such gorgeous fish in those tiny creeks! THANK YOU for sharing your adventure with a very gratefuly old guy!! :-)
@@hardmanfishing love watching your videos. Hope the channel blows up, you guys put out excellent content. On another note, how do you guys like the Dryft waders? I am looking to upgrade.
Shame on the 1 dislike. But haters gonna hate, and ainters gonna aint. Loved the video, and every though I have heard that song in an intro before, I do love it. So I am glad you brought it back. Glad you made it back to GA and thanks for putting in the 40 hours to make it happen in the editing room. Great job gentleman. Stay after it!
BRAVO, BRAVO 👏😁...Anutha GORGEOUS vid boooyz!! 😁 Really looking forward to tha next one! 🙂👍 Thanks for makin this AND for the humor about the "other pillow IF NEEDED" (not sure i wanna ask what that's all about...😂 Keep em comin guys!✌😎
Thanks man glad you enjoyed! And I mean I always have a backup pillow because if you lose or forget one pillow there's nothing more miserable then try to sleep without one!
I love this type of fishing. Light rod, small water beautiful wild/native fish. There are a few streams here in SW VA where you can get Brookies, Browns, and Rainbows. It’s always a special occasion when you fish these bodies of water. Great videos as always. Tight Lines!
@@hardmanfishing well if you need some streams off the beaten path, I can point you in the right direction. Since I know you and your brother are respectful and won’t trash up the place.
Tip I learned for Georgia (not absolute but mostly accurate) - look on topo map, if stream is below 2,000 ft elevation very likely to NOT have any wild brookies, above 2200 good chance they are there somewhere
Man we were JUST up there from Houston. Fished north and NW Georgia. When we first got up there it rained all day on the 4th so most places were blown out and the water was high and fast the whole time we were there. Made fishing tough but we still caught fish so can’t complain.. sad we missed y’all!
I’m 69 and I’m trying to do more fly fishing in our RV full time travels, I’m almost starting over it’s been so long. I’m amazed at your ability to cast in tight quarters and hike in rough terrain in waders and wading boots. What boots do you have and are they rubber or felt?My Simms boots are rubber and find them a little slippery on the rocks. Do you ever tear your waders hiking through the brush? We were camping near Clemson on Lake Hartwell and went to Smithgall Woods State Park to fish Duke Creek. It’s special, regulation water where they only allow 15 anglers in the morning and 15 anglers in the afternoon on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday only. You have to call to reserve a spot. Caught four rainbow that looked wild the largest only 10” but there are supposed to be 20” in the creek. It was a good location for me to practice. We moved to the southern boundaries of Great Smokey Mountains NP and fished the West Fork of the Pigeon River in the delayed harvest section for an afternoon and caught a 12” Rainbow and 12” Brook. They stock this stream with these species. I’d never caught a Brook trout this large. We are heading to Colorado in June to spend the whole summer at various locations where I can fish.
I have rubber souls but my brother has felt. I would 100% recommend felt or at least studded boots just because it doses get slick. I haven't torn my waders walking through brush but I'd watch out for briers. I purposefully avoid them at all costs. But it's awesome that you're getting out there again! I'd love to travel full time and fish in different places but for now I just go on the weekends when I can. Glad you old get on some fish in Great Smokey Mountain NP! And thanks for watching the videos.
As long as I'm understanding the question properly I point the rod in the direction I want to cast. Sometimes that involved turning the rod sideways. I also do it because a lot of times there is brush overhead and I want the fly to stay as low as possible, so my roll casts occasionally look ugly. But I do it for a reason.
Awesome video, my friend! Great mountain camp! Enjoyed watching, your skills are really good! And the surrounding nature is amazing. Cheers from Russia, hardman, and welcome to my channel about special bushcraft tips and hacks! Kind regards, Yuriy!
I have fished a lot of the same waters as you guys are here in north ga just curious in the video what size and weight rods are y’all using? I typically use at 7.5ft 4 wt in that creek.
We call the trifecta the the Southern Appalachian Slam here in the North Georgia Mountains. I recognized several places on your North Georgia series. Hit me up if you are ever in the Rabun County area, me and some TU buddies can point you in the right direction as long as the creek names remain nameless!
Dude! May I recommend the Cataloochie area of the Smoky mountains National Park. It's the most pristine trout fishing I've ever been to. Hard. Technical. Wild. But, an Elk may walk through the frame.
What you call a "trifecta" we Georgians call the "Appalachian slam". Not a lot of creeks left in Georgia where you can do that. I was there 3 days after you released this video and did the same. My favorite creek system in Georgia by far.
Yeah I had a few others tell me this! I had never personally called it that, although I'm from a bit farther north. But yeah I love that system for that reason. May not catch giants, but catching all 3 wild species is always a treat. Thanks for watching!
@@hardmanfishing I always forget about the driftless area up in Wisconsin but i hear it’s really gorgeous landscape up their and grows some really good fish

It definitely is! It's one of my favorites. Thanks for watching!
Sweet video guys. You guys gotta come to Shenandoah national park. It’s great quality brookie fishing
I've actually been there before but I don't think I've ever fished it myself.
Great video! I'm patiently waiting for the next one!

Excellent video quality dude. Your videos are better than stuff I see on the outdoor channel. Beautiful fish and awesome video.

Went fishing today at a small brook, caught 7 brook trout. Beautiful colors, 100% native. Maine brook trout are the best.

Non-felt souls in GA trout streams will get you a trip to the ER if you're not careful. Felt, 1000% 24/7
I've noticed you turning your rod sideways when you make short roll casts is it just habbit or is it helpful in some way? Thanks
@@hardmanfishing what I meant to say was you twist the rod so the reel in on the side

Yep its such a bummer. But I knew the weather would cooperate eventually!

Thank you so much! And we were both using 7'6" 3 wt rods. One was a Risen ITB rod and the other was a custom Bomber Fly Rod a buddy of mine makes
