    No Arsenal Fan thought this was a small win. This was a massive win. And you're right Villa at Villa Park are extremely tough and will be one of toughest places to go this season as it was last season, in fact I feel like they are gonna finish top 4 again this season. Onana and Rogers have made them much better I feel.

    • @johnaiwone6012
      @johnaiwone6012 Месяц назад +6

      I think what Laurence means by Arsenal celebrating small wins is celebrating last ditch tackles like Saliba's against Ramsey, world-class saves like Raya's vs Watkins today and defending set pieces, celebrating as if we scored. For sure, the result itself is a huge win for reasons you mentioned. 3 points that could prove valuable come May.

      idk about top 4 for the fact that they lost Douglas Luiz, and it's probably going to be a dogfight between Villa, MU, Spurs, and Chelsea, and Newcastle. Don't forget CL aswell

    • @astrojeet
      @astrojeet Месяц назад +1

      @@migi6556 That's true. Champions league will make it difficult. But they have better team than United, Newcastle and Spurs imo and a better manager imho and they are very well drilled. I also think Rogers and Onana will fill the void left by Luiz. In fact they are physically stronger. I've never seen this Arsenal midfield struggle to cope physically as much as they against Onana and Rogers, though admittedly players like Rice isn't quite at full match fitness and sharpness.
      I also think Chelsea will struggle, I'm not convinced with Maresca, they have a talented squad, but Chelsea are in a weird place right now and nothing good will come off it.

    Partey won't stay for long because his physicality has been dropped considering his age and injury history he has. I wanted to keep him as our 6 for his forward progressive pass but it has been pretty much covered by our inverted LB Timber or Zinny. I would love to start having Rice into 6 once Merino settled into Xhaka's role before. That can also be so influential to Martinelli and hope he can be improved and being more creative. Trossard should start for now.

    We definitely need another key player in the midfield, and I do think Merino will be enough to hold us till we make a big purchase next season as champions. Merino will allow Rice more space, time, and rest, but I do think we still need someone to cover for when Odegaard needs resting-especially since he’s out key playmaker.

  • @6ftPaul
    @6ftPaul Месяц назад +4

    Merino was the best dual winner in Europe, and will form a midfield of: Rice (6), Merino (8/double pivot/LCM with Calafiori behind, to free up Martinelli), Odegaard (10).

      @@bna919No Havertz is not, Gyokeres is actually excellent for link up play (check out on RUclips for proof), and is far more clinical in front of goal.
      There are too many occasions, when the ball is passed into the box, but no one is there to put it away.
      Havertz really lacks pace, whereas Gyokeres is quick, can finish with either foot, scoring with headers as well.
      You could say Haaland is not ideal for the system Man City play, but he does guarantee around 30 goals a season, and call the best Arsenal teams have had a lethal striker; Wright, Henry, Bergkamp, RVP..... to be honest last one we had was Aubameyang, but the problem with him was more attitude than anything else, which is probably the reason we are not going for Toney, coupled with the fact that Gyokeres is better suited to our playstyle/will get involved in the build-up.
      Gyokeres is reported to have agreed personal terms with Arsenal, so it's obvious we're interested, I'm really depends on getting rid of Nketiah/the fee we can negotiate.

      @@6ftPaul Gyokeres is not excellent at link up play that is a bold lie. At the very best he is decent at it. If he is asked to do what Havertz is asked in terms of dropping deep he will do so at a much more inferior level. In a system that relies on the striker dropping deep in build up Havertz is better. Havertz isn't slow either he recorded the highest speed of any player in the Bundesliga at 21.7 mph before he joined Chelsea.
      Gyokeres is more clinical and aggressive in shooting like you said and would be a fantastic addition to the team I would love for us to sign him but in my opinion he would not start over Havertz in most games
      1 last thing Haaland is absolutely ideal for the way Man City play because he takes away 2 defenders creates numerical advantages elsewhere.

      @6ftPaul Месяц назад

      @@bna919 Gyokeres is excellent for link up play, but you could argue Havertz holds the ball up better, as Gyokeres is more aggressive/direct, and he also creates space like Haaland, so watch the video before you make incorrect assertions with no value
