i think this is the first time 4 gods were in losers semi's and 2 non gods were in winners finals with the gods being present. correct me if im wrong but this big house was one of the best tournaments this year

I'm in shock at how people are in shock. A top ten player beat Armada. It doesn't sound like a big upset. But Armada is so good that this was a huge upset.

There is something odd about the similarity in the top 8 of both melee and sm4sh. The look a likes (Plup & Marss) both get second place beating the best player in both melee and sm4sh. Also ZeRo and Armada both placed 4th. Dabuz and HBox who get a lot of hate in their own community both get 1st place

He's 7-10 with Hbox this year and 0-3 with Armada. Always close sets, but I'd say he needs to work on the Armada matchup more (not to mention the Mango if you look at this year's SSC)

I think it's finally safe to say that Plup is God #6. Ever since I didn't know what he was before watching him dismantle Leffen in Evo 2015 I knew he had huge potential and instantly became a huge fan. So glad to see him go so far and defeat motherfucking Armada, you didn't win the tournament but you proved yourself Plup, you are a god damn legend.

Jon Webb I actually used to be pretty solid at Smash and I'm still better than most people I know, I beat Azen in his prime granted the meta has changed but not many people can say they did that and I did it while he was in his prime. I never got to vs Hungrybox but always wanted to. Maybe I'll get my opportunity when I go to Shine next year in Boston, MA

the man's been hated all his life and just made the loser's run of a lifetime and was greeted by an absolutely silent crowd and people already packing up to leave. now imagine if that happened every tourney he won. people hate hbox just because it's the cool thing to do and that really gets to a guy, especially after an entire decade of hate.
