When I was little my mother and I got the chance to go to California. We went to the ocean and saw hundreds of seals. They were sunning on rocks, swimming and all sorts of things. Every time I see a seal those memories come back.. such a wonderful time for me. I have no idea where we really were because I was very young. So needless to say I absolutely LOVE this pin cushion. Once again you picked another one of mine and Wesley's favorite movies.. He even has two "Nemo's" in his aquarium... Thank you again for sharing ALL of your creations...
You and I share beautiful memories from California, mine were Disneyland with my eldest daughter, unforgettable!😍 I thought the Nemo post was appropriate seeing as Bruce the shark was an Aussie!😂😂 You are a Star Kathy 🤩
I was built for lockdown! I grew up on a farm, only child, so last year when everything was shut down, I barely noticed. That said, My studio is a hot mess and I work best in chaos (art chaos). I have always been and will always be a rebel. This seal is just fantastic! I am behind in projects, but he just jumped to the head of the line. Thank you for the wonderful creations and your instruction!! Cheers!
Of course you are a rebel! I suspected this all along! I feel we are very similar that way, looking forward to seeing more of you fabulous works Joseph! 🥰🤗
That is the cutest pin cushion I have ever seen!! If you don’t collect them, you will want to after seeing this little guy. Make a great gift for a seamstress too. You have such a fantastic imagination, I love looking at your creations. Thank you
I have been watching your videos since I found you last year. I enjoy every video. Follow to the end so you get credit and like every video... I think I'm finally going to jump on the fun train and make this seal.
Hehehe snap. My first lockdown too. I am working from home which is actually more stressful than going to work as am having major computer and IT problems. The highlight for my time was seeing your beautiful seal post. Is there no end to your creativity and talent. I bet it is such fun with your daughters creating together. Please look after you and your family. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Hi My friend, creative people do well in isolation, such busy minds! Thank you for your kindness, my girls are my oxygen, fresh and inspiring! Look after you and yours!🥰🤗
I can’t decide which one of your little pin cushions is my favorite. Each time you make one I say, this one is my favorite. I love them all, but I think this week your seal with his fish is my favorite!! I’m sorry to hear you’re on lock down. I’m glad you got to spend time with your daughter’s. I have a daughter too, and she loves all your critters. Thanks for teaching and sharing! Take care
I travelled by train from Seattle WA to Sacramento CA and loved your amazing coast line. Oregon was so green. I continued by train after a few days in the Capitol of California to Denver Colorado with three stops due to rock falls. Love train travelling overseas. Grateful for all my awesome memories. Reading your post just brought it all back to me. And this isn't getting my sock knitted. Good day or night where ever you are.
I'm in the process of making this little guy now. I of course paused the video to glue the base pieces together right before you suggested putting the holes before gluing it. I found that using the awl to make the hole worked perfectly. In just pushed it through to the handle amd the hole was a good size.
My My, Your an Inspiration!! I love this idea and can't wait to make my seal pin cushion to add to my collection. My collection fluctuates because I more often than not gift my creations to family and friends. It's my way of trying to share the love for crafting and handmade items, especially with my grandchildren. Stay safe and looking forward to your next creation. 🥰🤗😊
My collection is much the same! After a grandchild visits there are often many missing! It’s a great way to teach children appreciation for handcrafted work I think. I’m happy you like my seal!🥰🤗
love love love. Have you thought of doing a whole collection of sea animal pin cushions? Sea Turtle, Whale, Sea Star, Octupuss, oh my gosh, I do get carried away!
Thank you, Lisa! I love this pattern! I live on the Monterey peninsula in California, so seals are like pets here because we have so many 😄! I am very fond of them. Be safe and thank you for all you do! 💖
Well, I will never keep up with all of your adorable patterns! My son was over and glanced into my craft room..."OMG!" was his comment 😆 He has no idea the long list of projects that will be added to the current numbers!!
OMG! Sounds like a compliment to me!😂😂😂 Being predictable is my worst nightmare! I’m looking forward to seeing your version of this one Sue! Have a creative week my friend 🥰🤗
Hi Lisa. Yet again your talent has amazed us all. You work is truly outstanding , Thank you for sharing your amazing gift with us, you are a very kind generous hearted lady that has helped many of us through this lockdown. Thank you again 🥰 xx
This is a wonderful project so realistic and still whimsical. Thank you again for relaxing evening and a wonderful pattern. You are an amazing teacher! Hope you have an outstanding week!
Hi im from england and just love what you make, i have made quite a few of your pin cushions, and love how they have turned out keep them coming i just love them all x
I am going to make two for two baby boys. Debating if I should use a fabric. What do you think 💭. Love the seal so much Lisa. I see him on a box that has starfish on each side and a colourful ball on his nose or beside him. I too am looking forward to what creative juices have flowed with another one of your beautiful pattern. Thank your two girls for me too Lisa. Hugs
I am knitting the second sock at present in a denim colour. It was dyed by a lovely Aussie lady living on Port Phillip in Victoria Australia. I aim to buy from Aussie woman who are creative and making their mark in what they do. I also look for podcasters like yourself who are creative and sharing their knowledge with us/me. Please share with me anyone you know fellow Lisa Pay followers. 🇦🇺🐶🙏🏻
Hi Francien! I’m glad you like my lil seal, just remember that any fabric you use will need to be non fray for the fins. Much love to you and Louis !😘🥰
Absolutely adorable! My daughter loved it, so I won't have the chance to keep it as a pincushion 😜thanks so much Lisa! By the way, it would be lovely to see the same one but with an orca on top instead! Just an idea 😉☺️...

Hello dear Australian one 😊(yet 3 lock down for us here, waiting for 4th in September, take care of you). What a nice pincushion, but I don't have torreador's soul 😂. I find woven interfacing very expensive compared to the non-woven type. Would using non-woven interfacing make a noticeable difference in the finished article?
Hi, that is unfortunately true, however woven will give you a much better result and is more flexible on those little curves. Non woven interfacing is generally too stiff for this type of sewing. 🥰
