Man, this music is something else. So deep, dramatic and epic. One of the best parts of the update.

This feels Hostile AF. The first sight of those Rocks by the Sea side just gives you the vibe that you're not welcomed here. THis kind of feels like that first time I've stepped through the Dark Portal for TBC in WOW.

When me and my friends though we were ready for pre-nerf ashlands, we couldn't be more wrong. Such great tune, can't wait for Deep North!

I love the Ashlands music, I feel like it encapsulates the theme of exploration and strength. I think its a mix of the mountains exploration, the ocean calm and the frost caves wonder!

The music ( first 2-3 minutes part is MASTERFUL, seriously, it made me pull through the update which i otherwise didnt like ) and the visuals are the only good things about the update for me. Gameplaywise it just strafed too far from what the game used to be in the biomes up to the plains. But to each their own i guess.

@@Pontidenvresige yeah and those are the best, most beloved areas. Not everything needs to be turned into a skill check or sweat fest. That's not what made Valheim a quality game once.
I have that in Elden ring, r6s, wow raiding and other games. Valheim was my happy place with friends, with freedom and lovely exploration. I don't feel any of that in Mistlands and ashlands. Just struggle and obstacles. If you think that makes the game better, good for you. I just feel differently.

@@RoxxSermI personally don’t find it that bad. If you’re really struggling though, (which I’m sorry to hear), you can always adjust the difficulty parameters. There are no negative consequences and it should make the game a lot more fun :)

@@RoxxSerm Playing it with my dad now who is almost 62, we are still managing well enough. The struggle of overcoming is part of the beauty, I think. The spawn frequencies could be toned down a bit, but the difficulty level is solid in my opinion.

not sure if im alone in this but i love all biome musics up to the Mountains. but plains+mistlands+ashlands just sound....weak to me. Like the Mistlands is the home of GIANT INSECTS that hunt you from the fog. it should have a horror movie soundtrack. instead its a kind of wonderland quirky song. and ashlands is just bland

Couldn't disagree more. The plains music is one of the best imo, feeling so relaxing but on edge at the same time fits the plains so well. The mistlands feels extremely atmospheric because it does sound like a wonderland, it's a land of magic and mystery not just bugs, how the bugs even got there and why they were sealed away in the first place is a mystery. I love the ashlands music too, it has the same somber tone and build up that made me fall in love with the swamp music. Couple that with the fact that the music crescendos and finishes when you either die or use a portal and you have another banger, atmospheric song.

I definitely think the Plains is a bland biome, but I don't think the music is the reason for that. I really like the music past the mountain, and I don't find it bland at all.

For me, the swamp and mistlands music are my least favorite. I don't like how the Mistlands theme lacks the overall sound that the biome tracks in Valheim have, and the swamp theme's overabundance of ambient sounds is really bad, considering that the swamp is already full of ambient sounds and is so dangerous that you NEED to be able to hear for threats.
I think the Ashlands theme is a great return to form. It's different but not too different like the Mistlands theme it invokes a sense of dread, sorrow, fire, and war. very fitting considering that the Ashlands are a horrid burning wasteland due to a massive war that occurred long ago.
