to me.. women are like a band from 60s that shortly had the opportunity to take a look in the future.. and tried to change their music then. haha Love them.
Best album of this decade so far there I said it. Some of the only truly real shit I've heard that wanted to push guitar music forward in terms of songwriting, performance and emotion. Incredible band.
You guys gotta be joking, such a boring music. I can name a lot of things that are better in so many ways. Ana Frango Elétrico with her new album, Little Electric Chicken Heart, is an example.
Sorry to be offtopic but does someone know of a tool to get back into an instagram account..? I was stupid lost my password. I would love any assistance you can give me!
i went thru a period where i'd just play this over and over and over and over. i did that earlier with 'oxygen feed' ... before i even knew about 'women' ....
They broke up because one of the member passed away. And even before the two brothers in the band were getting into a lot of arguments and even fought once on stage and had to cancel a tour that had like 20 shows left... sucks, one of my favorite bands of all time.
it sounds similar but its def not as noisey imo, which I liked. But preoccupations is awesome forsure. women was just way more raw I think. just imo. hopefully flegel sees this.

i first heard this song in the winter of two years ago. I remember sitting in a playground with a friend, freezing to death. I felt so happy I could cry, in a time where I felt nothing but bored for years, this song summed up that feeling. thanks
Tom's Box " I felt so happy I could cry, in a time where I felt nothing but bored for years " ... that right there is my current situation, thanks for sharing!
Tom's Box Tom's Box so what clears the years-long boredom, anyway? Besides the dreams I mean, and the sings you say? Does a finger snap when you hear Eyesore? Or are these needs to know another score? I am bored.
This song might honestly be the best album closer I've ever heard. It somehow makes the rest of the album better. It's like crying for the first time in a long time after a deep depression.

Lyrics to the song a really strange and don't really make a whole lot of sense but I don't think it's supposed to I think it's just a focus completely on the music and the lyrics are just second to the music it's a really good song I think it's just one of my favorite songs if I'm thinking about a song that has great musicality and just a lot of feeling in it the outro this song is just completely 100%
Connor Dennehy Well, you could be right, although there are some other opinions which are considering that the band had split up a few weeks later. A debatable matter. Anyhow it was released in 02.11.
Incredible song but the video concept is terrible. Should have just focused on the band and added more visual effects on them instead of two people running around with a flashlight lol
I think you're generalizing way too much, though I understand the desire to categorize and compartmentalize music- all too common. There is a 60's garage nostalgia, but the atonalities and creativity are not part of The Strokes arsenal. Women had a much more unique sound.
I'm a massive fan of both bands. I can see where you're coming from but Women lack the pop sensibilities of early Strokes music and I love them for it. You have no idea what to expect from one Women's song to the next.
This world would be different if songs like this got more recognition. Underrated is a tiny word for this.
Couldnt agree more. This band had such a influence on so many great bands that are out today. And preoccupations continued this path.

Three years later and you're still right about that album of the decade thing
End of the decade and you're still right. I gave up on indie rock after these guys broke up.
This album was a masterpiece in every way

Is there a collective term for being utterly invested in this band and Preoccupations/Cindy Lee universe?! Cause I'm in.

They burned brightly and too shortly. This song and "Locust Valley" are faves.
Yeah I dunno why they broke up but they had at least 2 more albums worth of ideas and sounds to work with.
They broke up because one of the member passed away. And even before the two brothers in the band were getting into a lot of arguments and even fought once on stage and had to cancel a tour that had like 20 shows left... sucks, one of my favorite bands of all time.
They have a new band called preocupations. Sounds almost just like this.

Ramon check out Cindy lee, it's pat flegels solo project it's more noisy and lo fi
A truly great song. Fucking so gutted I was late to the party on these and so I never saw them live.
RIP Chris
Their instrumentation is absolutely second to none.
@SCARSANDGRIPES Which two chords?
Crazy that this is faster than the album version, the guitar lines are killers to play and they are playing them faster here!
This is a treat, but prepare yourself for the torrent of emotion attached to this band and their music.
Tell me about it..

Women's lyrics are so interesting and vivid, I don't know why they didn't post them anywhere! They can be so hard to make out
Vivid how? I always thought the appeal was that they are haze-y and the meanings unclear.

This is my favorite song of their's. I've never been able to describe why, but I feel like your comment somehow comes closer than I ever could.

Miss you so much, Chris

Holy fuck! This is even better than the album version!
i think both are good
There is a real urgency here. I love both versions too.
Why can't this just go on and on and on? I need the slow fadeout on this version! I have listened to the track on spotify so many times...
This song reminds me of my girlfriend, so even if it’s pretty depressing as a song I’ll never not smile when I listen to it. Love you Aubsy
i'm coming back to this video every month.

I'd love to see them live too but I can't see them ever getting back together since Chris passed away.

Check out the band Viet Cong. The band contains two ex-members of Women and they have their debut album coming out on the 20th
