it kills me that there arent thousands of comments on these videos', more people need to see this, and understand why you are so special for showing us something that nobody on earth has ever seen before. thank you! i hope to do this one day, but im already 31 and feeling old haha.
That's so cool to know I just got my open water and all my gear last year. Cost about 6k I dive on wheels and zinc plates on the coast of Maine. I just turned 30 and thought I was behind the ball.
Jonathan a collaboration with Mike? I understand you are relatively new to cave diving in regard to exploration, but I can't help but wonder how this would have looked with your equipment trailing Mike!
I'm watching you explore and i'm terrified. haha! Found your channel from dive talk and glad I did. I'll be flying to another country to take my foundation course for tec and cave diving with an ISE instructor (since i've spoken to some other instructors in my region and they were less than friendly. They didn't want to talk to me about the progression to cave diving and the cost estimate). I hope to take it slowly and step by step, and get to doing safe cave dives eventually. you and the content in dive talk have been very encouraging. wishing you the best adventures, Mike!
Mike, you truly are one of the great modern explorers! Amazing video! What a beautiful cave. I'm looking at those formations thinking how careful I would need to be to not break them when you tied right on to that big one! I guess that comes with experience knowing what you will and will not break. Loving the content man!
Huge Fan Mike ! Amazing footage and constantly feeling inspired by you to want to learn to scuba and eventually work my way into caves! Thank you again for all your hard work you do!
Awesome dive Mike! Now I really want to know what is beyond that wall of formations, and even more on how you're going to be able to get to the other side. What's the depth, and how far back from the mouth does this cave extend?
Hey Mike, I think these videos are coming out really good, but you should probably, in my humble opinion, add some narrative so people that are not in the diving community know what's going on 🤔. I'm sure there are a lot of experienced divers and instructors etc. that still have no idea what's going on with cave diving and what they need to be able to do it safely. I've been a PADI certified open water diver since 1979, but until I started watching Dive Talk about six months ago and your channel most recently, I had no idea all the special skills and knowledge involved with cave diving. Keep up the good work and most of all be safe out there or I should say under there 😉
Appreciate the footage. Loving all of these uploads. Any chance you could explain what surveying is in a video? And how it differs from land surveying? Or is it the same thing?
I'd love to hear some commentary Mike. Kinda like the video you did while adding the lines for oil the leaks. I love the text but I think you can explain better with voice. Just my humble opinion. Big fan
Great video. Is the petrel on the clipboard just for headings? Doing my cavern this month getting my spirit before Cozumel and hope to start a path to CCR cave after it’s exciting keep doing the great work.
Another awesome video. Thank you for allowing us to see what most of us would never get the chance to see. Do you mind me asking where this was? And how deep into the cave did you go? I find it so fascinating. Stay safe.
@@mikeyoung8968 Completely understand. It’s absolutely beautiful. Thanks again for sharing. Especially for those of us too claustrophobic to put a mask on our face. I can’t even snorkel. But I wish I could. I love the water but something about having that on my face makes me panic.
@S. M. I haven’t. I’ve actually been going through it with my CPap. I’ve tried every mask I think they make. It’s like I can’t stand anything around my head. I can go to sleep with it but wake up panicking in the middle of the night. It’s strange. I’m ready to give up on the whole thing. I just can’t figure out why it freaks me out so bad. My kids all snorkel and I love going out on the boat with them and I will get out and hold my youngest and let her try. She getting the hang of it. But I just can’t.
This is in the Yucatán area of Mexico. On the island of Cozumel. We will not give out specifics to protect the cave. (Also you need government permission)
Yea it is crazy that you don't have millions of subscribers hundreds of thousands of comments you do such great work an have great videos thanks for the awesome content Mike 🤿 legend 🤿
Slot canyon at 1:56 to the left looked like it was lower passage...., how exciting. Man, I missed out, but next time.

Right he has under 15k subs outrageous. He does such cool stuff.
If he keeps unloading he will have thousands of views.
Same as dive talk did. Blew up in 1 year.
Actually I was in my mid 30’s when I did my first dive.

Amazing stuff Mike!!!!

Finally got the chance to play this, good footage, you never disappoint!
So cool, the amount of times I was so fixated then you made a noise or hit the top of the cave and jump scared me lol. Great vid

Amazing videos - don't forget 12,000 years ago the sea level was likely lower! Never know what you'll find!
I love cave diving but will likely never see virgin cave. Thanks for sharing the experience with me.
It's so fascinating. Thanks Mike, allowing us to explore with you it's phenomenal...
You videos are top of youtube about cave diving. AMAZING
Keep it coming mike! Maybe even split up the dive into multiple videos. Looks amazing as usual!
God i wish i could do this stuff, great video Mike, keep the good stuff comin, stay safe out there.
Thanks for uploading this video;)
Very interesting!
A lot to see in this cave - good viz too. Interesting formations. Thanks for taking us with you!
Those formations were amazing! What a beautiful cave!

Awesome video! Wish I had it in me to see it for myself but I don’t think that’s gonna happen! Thanks Mike👍

Well the next day I found a back way around the wall 😉.
@@mikeyoung8968 I hope you got some great video, if so I look forward to seeing it. Cheers Mike!

Yea I was in a noisy area and couldn’t do it this time. Perhaps I will redo it when I am home.
@@mikeyoung8968I like your captions. Love your videos, thx for sharing your awesome adventures.
I would really like understand the all the steps you are doing for a survey as you go out. Distance, azimuth anything else happening?
Depth, azimuth then distance. When visibility allows estimate left, right, up and down.
Appreciate the footage. Loving all of these uploads. Any chance you could explain what surveying is in a video? And how it differs from land surveying? Or is it the same thing?
Basically we map out what we find. Divetalk did a episode about cave surveying if you are interested.
I'd love to hear some commentary Mike. Kinda like the video you did while adding the lines for oil the leaks. I love the text but I think you can explain better with voice. Just my humble opinion. Big fan
I have been in noisy places and wanted to get this out. I may go back and add a voiceover when I get the time.
Great video. Is the petrel on the clipboard just for headings? Doing my cavern this month getting my spirit before Cozumel and hope to start a path to CCR cave after it’s exciting keep doing the great work.
Yes azimuth and depth. Well and a backup computer.
Nice cool stuff love the videos. Being some of the first people to see some of this stuff amazes me.
Fantastic video as always. One question about H2S layer. How long can you stay in it before it's start to become dangerous for diver and/or equipment?
It’s not that concentrated there and we just pass through but I wouldn’t stay there for a long time.
Another awesome video. Thank you for allowing us to see what most of us would never get the chance to see. Do you mind me asking where this was? And how deep into the cave did you go? I find it so fascinating. Stay safe.
I can’t really reveal where we did this as we wish to protect it. It was in an area we had swam past several times not to far in. About 25 minutes in.

A nightmarish water filled wonder.
Are hydrogen sulfide layers a danger to divers? I know you're not breathing it but its some pretty toxic stuff.
Not really if we don’t stay in it long. You can absorb it through the skin if it’s strong enough and you stay long enough.
Was there a lower level after all?
This area was still in an upper level
Educate me where is this?
This is in the Yucatán area of Mexico. On the island of Cozumel. We will not give out specifics to protect the cave. (Also you need government permission)
