It makes no sense at all that a nearly 80-year-old woman who has had a full and varied life, when isolating - utterly COVID alone out in the country with two donkeys and a dog, should find your videos so lovely. I have little patience with egoism. What I see with the two of you is a genuine gentleness, earnestness and excitement with what you and your friends are building. You are what our aching world needs. Your story of building a community in Panama is so full of love, patience, hard work. And beautiful laughter. May life treat you well, dear souls. I did grassroots film work many years ago in a South American country. I know the rains... and winds... and jungle greens. Stay healthy. You are lovely.
They are, indeed. Watching them reminds us of our own youth. The discovery, energy, excitement, development, accomplishment... looks... Now it's all this knowledge and skill and tools but limited energy and drive. Good thing I've got kids to help and grandkids to teach otherwise life would be majorly depressing at this stage.
Yes! I am also very turned off by over the top, big ego personalities on RUclips. These guys are just authentically enjoying their lives and sharing their beautiful experience with us ❤️
I am a lumber guy, fairly experienced in drying wood. If i might, you will get flatter, stain free wood if you stack your boards outside on lath first. This will allow the shell (exterior layer of the board) to expel its moisture, and keep the bacteria in the wood from staining the board (remember stain is rot, and you do not want to encourage rot). After the moisture content is reduced by 30% or more, move the stack into the shed you currently have it in to dry in the rooms heat. (moisture content is easy to measure by weighing a sample using a gram scale....take a look at U of Wisconsin Department of Forestry for help, or let me know.). Second, and probably more important, Please modify your chainsaw technique to avoid the most prevalent injury. Your left arm (or the arm not controlling the trigger) should always have a unflexed / stiff / locked elbow. This will keep the bar from contacting your head / face after the eventual kickback. Try to mimic a kickback without the engine running, first with a unlocked elbow, and then again with a locked elbow, you will see the safety a locked elbow provides. This maneuver is a bit clumsy at first, but in time it will be natural....and a saw to the head will be less natural! Good luck!
A moisture meter might come in handy also if you can find one down there. I know when my husband is drying lumber that little tool becomes his best friend lol.
Mandalee Milly they can achieve more accurate results, using the tools they already have. Weighed samples are a control, metered tests are an indicator.
@@mccauleybil oh I fully agree with everything you said especially if you can take the time and do it that way. We mostly dry in a kiln and use the meter to do a quick check to see how it’s going throughout the process.
This is probably true but in the tropics, it is kind of hard to dry wood outside in the rainy season. They probably would need a kiln to do it properly.

I think that's one of the reasons why I watch them. Knowing that it is an endeavor a little too late for me to take on; I'm 55. Table saw safety tip: When ripping shorter boards, use a push stick as you finish. On longer boards go half way through then tilt it up and out, turn it 180 degrees and finish the cut...keeping the factory edge against the fence. Always keep fingers and long hair out of the way.
SUGGESTION: move the ladder in the workshop and instead build a staircase against the wall. The location of the ladder will drive you crazy when you start moving long pieces of wood around, besides Lola and the kitty will be able to climb the stairs to join you...

I have a bluenose pit named Batman and he's my life. 11 1/2 years old now so I feel the love you share w/ lola and its great you named the farm after her she looks super sweet! Build progress is looking great keep up the great work =]
The heart and simplicity of naming the farm after your dog is so relevant for this moment in time. Once again, you inspire and delight on a regular basis.
...not only making things you guys are great, but also making people's lives better. Every video will remind us of Shane, and thank you for making these amazing beings days more practical and more productive. I love that spoon, it's beautiful. Everything you guys do is so magical, it's almost like watching a fairy tale story. I love you ❤️
I'm so proud of you two. I have been watching before you got your coffee store, before the workshop. You have come along way with respect and love for each other. I love watching your channel.
I couldn't agree more. I have a small mix breed dog and a cat and I always give them the water I would drink. The water where I'm currently living smells awful and I wouldn't consider drinking it myself so why should my fur babies. I also have Zebra Finches and Society Finches and they too are only given the same water I give my furry friends and myself. It's bottled in Culver, Oregon and when I lived in Crooked River Ranch Oregon we had that same water. I always have a water container with me day and night.
You should make an outfeed table for your tablesaw. Those long boards kink the sawblade and cause kickbacks. You haven't been hurt, until a 6 foot board gets kicked back into your face or chest.

Wow, this video brought me to tears today. You guys were so blessed by Shanes generosity with all those cool power tools and the comment he made that the only reward he wanted for the donation was to just pay it back. What an awesome gesture on his part and he couldn't have asked for a more perfect couple to do just that. You have already done just that with just moving to Panama and sharing all you have shared with us all. But you didn't stop there, just as you have given a part of your land to Rodrigo, given a part of yourself to Eberto to start his education, given your time and efforts to the Buckle Tip and made your dreams come true with the coffee ventures. Also helping out Kakee Poo Poo and helping out his Dad to be able to hear again, the list goes on and on and only good things will come to you guys and am proud to have met you guys through all your videos and your giving to others, I can't express my love for what you are doing and what you will do in the future. Love, from the Mainiac in Colorado.
I started spoon carving last summer and haven’t carved anything since March. After seeing your joy in making the spoon it reminded me how much I enjoy making things too! I’m going pull out the the knives and get back into it.
Loved seeing your "not working" days. Really interesting and enjoyable. As are all of your videos. I got a little misty eyed when you hung the sign. What a sweet moment.
I’m sure it’s a great feeling looking back at all you’ve accomplished on your little piece of paradise. You’ve got some very generous donors that have given you so many wonderful tools to help make your dreams come true!
You guys are rocking it ....on Lola's farm ...all that new tools was awesome .....a big thank you to Shane for helping you guys to be able to do things quicker and safer 💜☕️
Satisfaction! Making things gives you satisfaction. I worked an office job for 30 years. Nothing tangable at the end of the career, just paper and electronic records. So I retired at 55 and bought a 44' diesel coach to cruise around in with my spouse. Now, loving life! Keep up your great development of Lola's Farm. She is a loving owner. Kevin in Tucson.

Omg I so want a spoon! Or like a cooking set or stirring spoons or something. I just want to let you know your videos have made the lady year livable. Chemo then radiation then COVID. It has been so much but all I have to do is watch a video or yours and I smile and laugh even cry ( in a good way) sometimes. Thank you.
Considering all you have done with basic tools I can’t wait to see what you build with professional tools!! Congratulations, i love to hear that people don’t want anything in return except that you pay it forward!! What a great gift and what a great gift to give to someone else that they will realize their dreams also!! You guys are the best!! Can’t wait to see your next video!! Also i hope you keep making longer videos, I enjoy all your content!!
A new & bright chapter with all those amazing tools, God Bless the man who gave them to you. All my love Nana Vicky (that's what Rodriquez calls me) Lynne Australia 🇦🇺🐨🌹❤️🌹❤️🌹❤️🌹❤️🌹❤️🐨🇦🇺. PS the spoon is beautiful.
The gentleman who gave you those wonderful tools is without a doubt an angle, and to only ask you to pay it forward really make everyone a humanitarian we all need those lessons in life especially now with all that we are going through as humans in our planet. It is, at theses times when you find out what your true purpose is, this time around. The Lola farm is really taking shape and your friends and work associates are all wonderful souls. Much success going forward on up coming projects. I am enjoying the coffee which I ordered last month, I’m almost ready to reorder more tasty coffee. Thank you all for sharing your journey. Many blessings and keep on truckin. Your buddy Rikky😎🏄
dudes, you made a spoon, making stuff is AWESOME, love that light inside at the end... some personal stuff to camera would look awesome under that light, maybe reflections of the week.
I agree, making things is so much fun, and so rewarding! Right now I’m knitting, a warm, brown pillow out of Alpaca and Marino wool 🤗. You’re inspiring me to try my hand at making a wooden spoon too 🪓
Wow Shane you are so generous, what a difference this will make to this beautiful community that is so deserving. What a gorgeous spoon you made you clever people. I'm with you there on the creating things. I'm in my happiest place when I'm creating and making things it is very satisfying. Just made a folding down woodwork bench to do my sawing which has made it much easier than using my camping table!! it's a bit like your early beginnings were maybe a couple more tools but now all I need, but wow what a beautiful workshop you now have. As I've said before your video's are my favourite part of the week Lots of love from Alison
Here is a very good gardening tip. If you trim the bottom leaves of your tomato plants, so that they don't touch the ground, you will have tomatoes starting to grow instead of leaves and flowers. Make sure your plants are well supported too. Happy Gardening!
Also, as someone who started your channel from the beginning, I remember your bracelets!!! How far has your journey come from the very beginning, and you guys are such beautiful souls. Also, you like all the same shows as us, lol! Game of Thrones, Lost, and Ozark!! ❤️ I’m absolutely LOVING your journey, so thank you for sharing this with us all here in internet land!! 🥰
Wow! I bet that really did feel like Christmas! You bless so many others, now blessings are coming to you! May God bless the man who did that for you too! Love the piggy bank choice, Kake! Seeing y'all put the sign up for "Lola's Farm" made me cry! Then, I turned around and LMBO at you spraying the chicken! Lola, so sweet! She just deserves everything good! The music choice during the spoon making was so relaxing! With everything going on here in the states right now, something relaxing is so nice! You're not alone in loving to watch the clouds, sunrises, and sunsets; rainbows make me go "over the moon" also! Take care and God bless you!
So good to see you doing other thing's than just Building , burnout happens quickly before you know it if you don't occasionally take a break !! Even though we do love watching , we also want what's best for you :) God Bless ...
You guys have managed to meet and form the perfect team. All hard working , polite , and great people Amazing choice to position yourself in a wonderful place. God bless!!! I wish I had lots of money to send you for the farm and the team. One day!!!
It is so beautiful there. You picked a beautiful place. Looks like you found some great friends also. You are all working so hard always I can’t wait till it’s finished but I guess it won’t ever be finished, you will always be doing something on Lolas farm. Hugs and love to you too.
Seems to me that you found your Paradise on earth. I wish to everybody on earth to find theirs. You don't need expensive stuff to be happy. Just seeing a butterfly makes me happy for an entire day.
So much joy. So much love. I look forward to every video you make, whether you're making spoons or working on the workshop. I have no TV, just my little old tablet and Wi-Fi and RUclips but I feel so fortunate! The world can seem pretty crazy these days and I truly enjoy escaping to Panama to see how you and your friends are doing. Those tools are awesome and now you have a workshop to house them! I'm looking forward to watching you build your house with them!
Love the enthusiasm, just wanted to point out the girl the only one who used the saw properly and didn't force it through the wood like crazy! Let the saw blade do the work.
The green tomatoes can be used for fried green tomatoes which are so good, I think on your other channels you guys should show the process of the wood spoon making and like the behind the scenes
Be careful with those power tools 🛠 Lola is so happy ! Glad you spoil her and give her special water ! I hope Roger and chickens do too ! Peace ✌️ love them spoons
I think it's great you guys built your garage / tiny house the hard way because now with all the tools when you go to do your more permanent house it's going to be a breeze and going along with the guy who sent you the tools you're going to be able to pay it forward by letting anyone on the property use the tools to help build their homes💯💞👍 I love watching you guys.

You two are a prime example of the the more you give the more you get in return!
...not only making things you guys are great, but also making people's lives better.
IMO, filtered water for Lola and Roger is just important as cooking the food you give them. Extend your best friends lives. :)
Or wrist says my scar :-)
I like that she gives Lola filtered water! What good dog companions you are! Lola is so sweet, and her friend too!

here's the thing , just because you have money doesn't automatically mean you have to share it with anyone . That is why the fellow who sent you the tools will be blessed beyond , weather he could afford it or not is immaterial , it is what is in his heart that he will get judged on someday ! There are good people left ...
Awwww. You telling Lola it's her farm while she's giving you kisses. Made my day and hit me square in the heart. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you to whomever sent love and support to these incredible young couple
You need a fence around that wind turbine to keep animals & people safe
Is there an address to send to you from USA? Thought Lola may like new Tennis balls to chase or a Frisbee.
Levi Allan's motto on his channel on you tube is" life's better when you make stuff" and i couldn't agree more and you are experiencing this on your incredible journey. You are doing a fantastic job and are having fun at the same time with the help of some wonderful peoples.Life doesn't get any better than this! Thanks for bringing us along for this, we appreciate it very much
Wow, this video brought me to tears today.
Please all of you take a quick SAFETY FIRST COURSE before operation of potentially deadly tools! Please please please please 🙏
Hey guys, it’s contagious to see you happiness, 👏👏👏👏👏
That is a very generous gift $$$ heck even the shipping alone
You guys are rocking it ....on Lola's farm ...all that new tools was awesome .....a big thank you to Shane for helping you guys to be able to do things quicker and safer 💜☕️
I think that was one of the best videos you've done to date.
It's not mundane stuff to us, it's all part of your life.
You guys are such an inspiration, I am 59 and living in Belize and we watch every video. you inspiring me at 59. love what u doing for the locals, love that u living the dream, love it love everything, Kaylee you are awesome too. Love your coffee, i would love to get my hands on it for my bakery :)
Hello everyone on Lola's Farm enjoy your videos immensely!!!! I love your gentle spirits, smiles and laughter 💕 Blessings to you all and everyone who has helped on your journey!!!!! Love and peace ✌
You all have been truly Blessed by the individual who sent you all those Dewalt tools. God is GOOD all the time and all the time God is GOOD. Many more Blessings to you all. Have a fabulous day.
Awww Lola’s farm😍😍😍 Lola’s is bless 🙏🏼 that’s what you get when you’re a big giver guys. Take care 😘😍🙏🏼🤗🐈🐕❤️
The wooden spoon reminds me of the Dick Proenneke videos, he lived alone in the Alaskan wilderness for over 30 years.
Such a gift. And your gratitude is everything. Keep inspiring us!
A new & bright chapter with all those amazing tools, God Bless the man who gave them to you. You all bring so much happiness to so many, your enthusiasm, kindness to others, love & respect for Mother Nature are just a few things that so many follow your channel. All my love Nana Vicky (that's what Rodriquez calls me) Lynne Australia 🇦🇺🐨🌹❤️🌹❤️🌹❤️🌹❤️🌹❤️🐨🇦🇺. PS the spoon is beautiful.
I would just love to sit on that deck and watch both a sunset and a sunrise with a cup of coffee. Those views are heavenly. Be blessed.
Yayayaya!!!! I needed something good to watch- and I found this!!! 🖤🧡🍁 Love you guys!!! Sending you prayers and good vibes from Arkansas! ☀️🌲🧡
Thank you Shane for all of these gifts for their nomadic movement. It's a beautiful gift I'm sure they're going to enjoy it very very much ❤️
Agreed. I've spent my whole life making things! It's rewarding. Now teaching grandkids how to build stuff. Good job you guys. Que Dios los bendiga!
You all worked so hard pre new tools. Now it will be a smooth ride. So wonderful the public out there are supporting you.
Love, love, love the Lola's Farm sign and where you put it!!! Your spoon is a work of art! Love and hugs to all of you!
God bless the kind soul that gifted these great people with the tools to make their work lighter.
Lola’s farm celebration party! Gorgeous 🥰 tools are the best toys!❤️🙏🏼🇨🇦
This is beautiful. I tell you with what's going on in this world, I love seeing this. Blessings to the person(s) who sent these items.
One day!!!
I haven't watched any RUclips in 6 days because I was on vacation, so you can only imagine the excitement I got when I saw two new videos to watch!:)
I have to say that as much as I enjoy watching your farm evolve and roasting beans, I really miss your little excursions and hikes.
It is so beautiful there. You picked a beautiful place. Looks like you found some great friends also. You are all working so hard always I can’t wait till it’s finished but I guess it won’t ever be finished, you will always be doing something on Lolas farm. Hugs and love to you too.
So nice you will have all those tools when you start your house.
I can never get enough of you guys sharing your life!! Till next time!
Whoever gave them these awesome tools . Your wonderful!!!
Seems to me that you found your Paradise on earth. I wish to everybody on earth to find theirs. You don't need expensive stuff to be happy. Just seeing a butterfly makes me happy for an entire day.
The wood between the wet boards are called stickers. They should be smaller. like 3/4 x 3/4 or 1 x 1. Looks great.
I love the way you take care of your Lola and all the other animals you guys rock
lil bit of water eyes Kaylee when you were showing lola her sign.. love you guys
For real. You could sell photos of the scenery of sunsets and sunrises from the views you guys have. Awesome videos
That spoon is perfect for serving quinoa, rice, farro, beans... love the color too...! Great job!
What a cool guy to give you these wonderful tools.
Green tomato pie, just like apple pie! 🥧
@@Dandylionbee That's exactly what I was going to suggest!
The best making. Making Friends.
Received my coffee today!!! OH MY goodness!!!! It has to be some the best coffee I ever had. WILL be purchasing again very soon. You just solved my Christmas list for most of my family!!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Love watching your progress. Inspirational joy. So glad you got your wind turbine fully functioning.
Just be careful of the power tools. Its so easy to hurt yourself. You guys are doing a great job. Keep it going. We are all anxious to see what Lola's Farm looks like this time next year.
Thank you for being so good to your animals
