One of my favorite RC Crawler channels, Crawler Canyon, (he tests a lot of tires) has dubbed the Hustlers as "the worst crawler tire" out right now. He's tried just about everything to get them to work...including traction compound...and they still just aren't any good on the rocks. The other upgrades look awesome though!
It was cool meeting you at Coastal Rc in Chesapeake a little while back. Thanks for the little freebie you gave me!! That crawler course is amazing. Wish we had something like that!! I have the 1.9 Ruptures on my Ecto and they're unreal. I know they're illegal in comps but WOW!! I've done alot of upgrades but I think I'm gonna have to do the SOA Mount. I can just tell the difference watching it!!
Freaking AWESOME brother!!!! I got the green ecto about 3 weeks ago, I still haven't driven it yet. Maybe this weekend. I need to get a set of those wheels.👍👍👍
Looks like a softer foam would help or some anti foams. Looking at the tires on the rocks they are not conforming. They would probably work better on a heavier truck if you keep the foams that come with them.
Tried the Hustlers on 3 different rigs, same results. Decent trail tire, but game over once you get on rocks. Changed foams, WD, even the dreaded use of Dawn dish soap. Same result. As I posted on Canyon Crawlers vid, the sound of the lugs folding over and not biting is absolutely grating. I did find their foams to be decent though. Didn't care for Prolines 2 stage with BFG Krawlers on my Ecto and threw the BR foams and was very surprised how they hooked up with just enough flex without the rollover.
I have heard of many people not having any luck with the Hustlers. Could just be the type of rocks they are on, but it does sound like a common problem. They do look good though.
Yeah man those do look VERY slick on your rocks. Not sure what might help. But I’m a firm believer in changing the tire for your conditions. Out here the lugs clear nice in the dirt. I’ll have to finally edit some of the vids from our st jude hike and the gatekeeper to show how they work in our world.
When using the rear shock towers, did this change your chassis angle to be more angled towards the back? If so, that could pull a bit of weight off the front making you lose some bite. Just an idea, I feel those tires should be a little better than they are.
I was also not impressed with my hustlers. Ran mine a bunch hoping they would break in as the wore. I ended up going to pl bfg krawlers and was a huge gain, or even Pitbull rockbeast xl’s. I am curious how the Mickey pro x’s from proline do. I know the ones from Rc4wd even with new foams the tires I felt were to soft and the tread would fold or roll over on itself be for they could hook up. Kill ecto though
i'm having good luck with the vanquish VXT2's. They are griping better than my Hyrax. Also since that is a light rig are your foams a little to stiff? I'm not seeing any tires conform to the rocks like your SCX24's do
That’s part of the problem. Pablo built the wheels and tires and gave them to me. He makes really heavy trucks. These foams are definitely too hard for this truck.
I have done testing with the boom racing Hustlers and those tires are horrible. You would be better off putting axial r35 ripsaws on that truck then running the Hustlers. I have a whole series of testing in loose gravel, slick rock with wet tires, and wet conditions with wet slick leaves. I will be doing more testing when I get back from vacation but I dont see the Hustlers doing any better even after i modified them and soaked them in wd40. The tires are a great looking tire made with a horrible compound.
@@CCxRC If you watch my videos that i sent you would see that it really doesnt matter heavy truck or not the tires have a poor compound that doesnt grip well. my gen8 is a heavy girl and those tires still didnt do well.

Good to know. I’ll have to check it out.

Crawling course is impressive.

I agree foams and or venting if you haven’t yet. Or just toss them for a different tire! Great looking build even if it struggled some!
Your ECTO is looking KILLER but I don't think those tires are doing anything for you. Great video brother!
Thanks Dirk!

It made driving a terrible experience. I wasn’t having any fun and called it quits early
I’m in Ohio and have mostly smoothish type river rock. I’ve got Krawlers on my Ecto, and they are fantastic!
That’s crazy man the baby hustlers kill it. maybe the truck is to light for them but it is hard to beat the landmines on rock
I agree. The landmines are pretty great on rocks
Nice!! So you custom cut the original element shell?
There’s quite a few good tires on the market, but I always fall back to the Proline predator compound Super Swampers.

Killer Ecto !!! How did you realized the Ecto without rear bed ? Did you simply cut it off from the front housing ?

Nice truck and I really like them tires do u think maybe the foam in them are to much maybe not sure
Some great upgrades Tony👍 Got to agree those tires look like they are hurting the performance. Not sure if removing some of the lugs would help.
It won't, those tires suck
Great paintjob 😉👍
Doesn’t look like a lot of articulation in the rear?
What battery do you use in it? My standard batterij do not fit do you need a shorty for it?
Softer inserts , nice rig

wow those tires were bad on that course, good looking build
Ecto is lookin rad brotha!, What foams are you running in those tires?, they look a little hard.
Whatever Pablo put in
Looks like they’re just too stiff of a foam, you’re not conforming to the rock. Love the rig looks awesome
Definitely agree. That’s what they came with
Don't think 🤔 the truck might be to lightweight ? I'm a novice to this just asking

That’s how it was looking to me. Maybe for heavier trucks?

Even in racing indoor usually requires a super soft tire , just my 2 cents.
U removed the Panhard? How does it work without it
Works great. I put better tires on and it is fantastic now
@@CCxRC how can I fix my alignment? It goes to the right, I’ve tried moving the horn but it doesn’t go straight
That is sick 👍🏾👍🏾🤩👍🏾👍🏾
Bud those have to be the worst tires made from what I’ve seen about them! Put some jconcepts tusk or rupture’s on and you’ll be a happy crawler
Can u link me too shock towers u use
Hi mate great video nice info 👍👌
Remind me never to buy them tires
Those tires are a bummer
Yeah. Absolute garbage
Clearly you are running 30-35psi. I run those tires around 5-12psi. Its okay Tony, we all make rookie mistakes from time to time.
I ran them exactly as they were given to me to try.
Boom Racing Tires thumbs down 👎
Yeah, those tires suck
🥰🤩💥💯👍👏
