Great video Janet! I 100% agree with the tip about simplifying checkout and removing barriers. And yes about implementing abandoned cart emails to wrangle back the people who were ready to buy, but got distracted and forgot to checkout. Last week I helped a client reduce her number of checkout fields, simplify her checkout screen on her website, and implement 2 abandoned cart follow-up emails. I was surprised that the entire project took less than 45 mins to set up for her!
I am annoyed when I go to a website and immediately have to X out of an email sign up pop up. How do I invite visitors to sign up for emails without being annoying?
If you don't like pop-ups, you can still have forms on your blog posts, set up a landing page with an opt in form and link to it in relevant places, have something that "slides in" on the page, a lead bar at the top, etc. Lots of options for growing your list!
