A pretty fair review but I'll say that besides the bit of paint chipping the backpack can cause, I personally enjoy this figure over the FT one. I think the height is better because in my mind arcee doesen't tower over the other carbots and Its defenitly more enjoyable to pose, I also think it has a pretty good presence on my shelf. Now FT is asthetically pleasing too but in a 1950's style pin up girl kind of way which doesn't really look as proportionate to how Arcee is consistently portrayed in the cartoon in my memory. But as you always say if you like it you win.
Nestly Nes I know that’s not what these are. I just put my opinion out there that I’d like some clean, posable robot only figures. Like the new Optimus robot only based upon his Prime cartoon look. Don’t remember the third party name but Deluxe Baldwin reviewed him in the last month.
I love Azalea and I think I agree with you. I bought her because 1) I love to play with and actually transform these things frequently and I hear FT Rouge is a nightmare to transform, 2) head sculpt. Rouge looks like a hot woman wanting to cosplay as Arcee, whereas Azalea looks as close to the G1 cartoon as I've ever seen, and 3) poses. The dynamic poses are a total blast and if you use some of the transformation hinges you can do even more amazing poses. I do think she is short compared to Springer, but that was true in the Movie. Rouge's car mode is better and has better hips, but I kinda like Azalea's hips in a way, but kibble-y and robotic. Great review as always.

As he described in the video he prefers the fanstoys one because it is working better in terms of precence and just being very well sculpted I think and I have to agree with him. I am not the guy who fiddles around to much with my Mp's and I just want them to look beautiful on my shelf and in my opinion fanstoys does this better then most. I don't care if the transformation is really unintuitive or troublesome and i keep my figures in pretty stoic poses anyway so the action element is not important to me either. I just need an mp to look good while standing up there and from what I understand Bobby is also that kind of guy. This figure could be better for you though because you present your figures in a different way maybe or just have other things in a figure that are important to you and that's fine I say. To each his own.
Her backpack is better looking and not flopping like the Fanstoy. I have MMC which works for me because she should be a little smaller. Fanstoy MP scale is too tall compared to the rest of the MP figures.
I think Rouge does look better as a statue on Bobby’s shelf with those other figs. But I think Azalea is a better action figure. Looks more robotic, and less cartoonish. I think it’s good that the community has options for different tastes.

The thing that's genuinely great about your reviews is that you don't hide your subjectivity. It's impossible to be a completely objective reviewer and the best thing you can do for your viewers is to be completely honest about your biases and what you're looking for as a collector and you always do that. It really helps it make the choice easy for someone like me who is looking for something completely different in my collection. I tried Hoodlum. Didn't dig him and now I know where I should go for my Arcee. Great review as always.
Gave you a like, completely disagree though. I dunno, man. Not sure transforming figures are even your bag anymore. Can't coat something in paint if it's meant to be transformed repeatedly, been proven again and again. Save the time, money, and energy on things that bring you joy like Hot Toys and Statues and Flame Toys.
I’m glad there are others here who also like to transform their Transformers. “I only display them in robot mode” is such a tired excuse, especially in defense of difficult to transform Transformers toys.

Thank you for always telling it like it is, one reason of many to why I continue to support your channel! It seems some people just can't handle objective (or even sometimes subjective) criticism. I know some are saying that Rouge isn't the same after transformation and that might be true for them, however, I transformed mine, (albeit it was only once) but she is still super solid and is holding up just fine. So, not everyone it seems will have the same exact experience. Great video man!

I'm buying this figure because it's like the only option I have left since Fanstoys and every other 3rd party companies have sold out on their take on Arcee and to me any Arcee is better than no Arcee, although I do want a good Arcee
Sticking with FT's for the same reasons, it presents better and the mmc is too small, its obviously scaled for the mp hotrod. I do wish more companies would look at the hands though, for smaller bots like this its infinitely better to have a selection of good fixed hands rather than bad articulated ones.
I recently bought this figure. Personally I think it's great & is my favorite G1 Arcee out there. I like it is better than FansToys. FT's transformation is overly complicated & I'm not thrilled with the head skulpt
I wish that MMC would get back into the cassettes, because I really want a full scale MP Ratbat, also it would be really cool If MMC would produce an IDW styled Scorponok and Bludgeon and make them to MP quality specifications. And enough with the Arcees already, everybody's produced an Arcee at this point, we need some new blood in the 3rd party realm.

In other reviews I have heard you comment on MMC stuff as being for a different scale and an IDW look. I believe as recently as when Carnifex cameod in your Fans Hobby Overlord review where I seem to recall you said comparing them was like comparing apples and oranges. I missed that here, and felt that you tried to fit it into the slot of the masterpiece Movie Cast Arcee, while it’s probably meant for MMC’s IDW look. It surprised me since you usually go to lengths to differentiate between the two. Is there a specific reason you did not point it out now?

Ham. Let's see if Maketoys will get us an Arcee. I like to transform my figures too. I still have Cupola,Sunsurge,Richtofen,Backdraft,and Carry waiting for me to transform...just been too tired...
Personally I picked Ox Azalea because I liked the hands (And feel that Masterpiece toys should really offer 'Transformation accurate' hands alongside an array of posed hands) and the altmode looked the most 'faithful' to the original design as far as a transforming Arcee could pull off, specifically with the seats positioned to the back of the vehicle. The middle-ground is that the sponsons are a nightmare and certainly not the zeta-gundam style winglets from the Ox artstyle, but physics being physics, I feel no one's recreating those damn things cartoon accurately (Rouge does it slightly better than the mush of Azalea, I feel). The downside for me are the faces, while the colouration is definitely in line with the Ox colouration... It's not the 'grey with the most subtle twinge of pink' from the cartoon. But no one's got that exceedingly specific tint down either. So, left with choices, Azalea transforms nicely. Rouge can transform back and forth... In theory (Ugh, my poor Koot!). So Azalea wins out by proxy of being a transformer until something nicer that does the job better rolls around.
They both look really nice, but I don't see much point in a transformer I'm afraid to transform, so that's a big knock against Rouge for me. As for scale, I think Azalea scales better with MP-28 and Hoodlum, while Rouge scales better with MP-09. Which is kind of weird, you'd think Fanstoys would have made Rouge perfectly in scale with Hoodlum above all else, but Rouge is slightly taller than Hoodlum, which just looks weird because Arcee was clearly shorter than Hot Rod in the cartoon.

Arcee, Springer, Cosmos, Bruticus (which I am in for) has been very very late to market and just seem to be only slightly better (if that) than previous offerings.
I was quite looking forward to this Arcee, but seeing how small she is next to the other MP S3 guys, I'm going to have to pass. Guess I'm sticking with my Toyworld Arcee for the foreseeable future.

If I could choose I'd get the FT body but with the MMC head and arms, rouge arms look either too skinny or too long and has a manly looking face, at least for me.
I think one of their big problems is the fact it takes them so long to get a product out, they end up missing the boat/hype. Look at their Bruticus, some amazing engineering but pretty much everyone that was in the market for Combatrons already has a set. It's gonna be the same with their Springer and this Arcee would have done a lot better if they'd done the pink version first and got it out before Rouge (or even the same time). I'm actually picking up more of their Reformatted stuff recently, love IDW and getting a bit bored with the simplified MP aesthetic now.
In my eyes there's no comparison, FansToys looks soo much better and for me it only needs to look good on display so I'm happy. By the looks of this one I think it would look out of place on a masterpiece shelf.
I have both and happy with neither. The gaps in Rouge's chest and forehead makes me want to throw it against a wall every time I look at it. It is my most regrettable purchase ever. Azelea's gaps are more acceptable but doesn't have the same presence. I think that' I'll sell both and pray that someone else takes a stab at Arcee. P.S. the East Cost Toys link doesn't seem to be valid.

A bit off topic, but since you reiterate your interest in transformers mostly as a display piece, have you ever considered a video to that effect. Perhaps covering the options out there for third party that are making non-transformable display pieces and why, in your opinion, there really is not a market for mid level figures like that (aside from the model kits that have started coming out, which are more entry level price and quality, plus not everyone wants to assemble and paint their figures themselves.) It seems like there is Flame Toys and there is cheap model kits, but nothing in line with say the 1st/3rd party MP line for non-transformables, in terms of price and quality. Not to mention trying to get the whole cast from Flame Toys, well that's a second mortgage and I would guess like 30 years of waiting. I am for some reason really curious about this, despite being in the other camp and only prioritizing engineering after aesthetics.
I *want* both the display and "action figure" elements, but display is the main priority, as it is with you. This Arcee seems like a great figure, but a bad MP figure. And that's fine. But it's not for me.
Honestly, this is a pretty decent figure for the posability. I would definitely purchase it, but the price of this is absolutely ridiculous. It's pretty much completely unpainted, lackluster plastic, and the figure costs the same as Fanstoys Rouge (not to mention Azalea is about the same size as a deluxe Transformer). For that reason alone, it's a no from me. Rouge's transformation aside, is a much more premium figure that's worth her price tag.
I have to disagree, I like the articulated hands better. Those hand look very humanish sought of speak. The fanstoys killed it, no comparison! That Fanstoys looks absolutely beautiful! Yeah I agree am a display person myself, I rather sculpt..i mean I really do love articulation though. Actually am into Both. As always great review!
Bobby, get over us ripping on your for the paint thing. We straight up thought you goofed. Having watched a ton of your videos, it was a safe assumption you were afraid too pull too hard in fear of breaking it. We didn't know at the time there was paint in there. Stop being a snowflake about it and get over it! Lol. Edit: also, in regards to your missing Cygar for Kup - I lost mine as well, but reached out to FansToys customer service email. Cost me like $5, but they shipped me out a couple more. Give that a shot.
I often think you're way off base on some of your objectivity and I almost always disagree with you subjectively. But this time you're pretty spot on. MMC looks great with Takara's Hot Rod in bot mode, but they missed the mark for car mode(it's the area where the knees end up...it's not clean and not screen accurate). But if you have the rest of FT's movie/season 3 characters then you NEED Rouge for a cohesive look. Rouge does look a bit tall next to the carbots.....but how often is she next to the carbots? If you use Azelia then you're still waiting for a Kup and Blurr that scale to her and Hot Rod(the Unique Toys Blurr is way too tall next to Hot Rod and Azelia, but only slightly too tall with the FT set). Here's my scores. Articulation: MMC 10 to FT 7 Transformation: MMC 10 to FT 7 Bot sculpt: MMC 6 to FT 9 Car sculpt: MMC 7 to FT 10 Playability: MMC 10 to FT 8 Paint: MMC 7 to FT 10 Presence: MMC 6 to FT 10 Overall: MMC 56 to FT 61

As a robot rogue is a good mp Arcee but in car mode she is a pain. No secure clicks and this one looks like it stays together in car mode.
This is the better figure but your consistency of preference for Fans Toys products is oddly reassuring. 😉

If I could choose I'd get the FT body but with the MMC head and arms, rouge arms look either too skinny or too long and has a manly looking face, at least for me.
Truth.
I think one of their big problems is the fact it takes them so long to get a product out, they end up missing the boat/hype. Look at their Bruticus, some amazing engineering but pretty much everyone that was in the market for Combatrons already has a set. It's gonna be the same with their Springer and this Arcee would have done a lot better if they'd done the pink version first and got it out before Rouge (or even the same time). I'm actually picking up more of their Reformatted stuff recently, love IDW and getting a bit bored with the simplified MP aesthetic now.
In my eyes there's no comparison, FansToys looks soo much better and for me it only needs to look good on display so I'm happy. By the looks of this one I think it would look out of place on a masterpiece shelf.
I have both and happy with neither. The gaps in Rouge's chest and forehead makes me want to throw it against a wall every time I look at it. It is my most regrettable purchase ever.
Azelea's gaps are more acceptable but doesn't have the same presence.
I think that' I'll sell both and pray that someone else takes a stab at Arcee.

A bit off topic, but since you reiterate your interest in transformers mostly as a display piece, have you ever considered a video to that effect. Perhaps covering the options out there for third party that are making non-transformable display pieces and why, in your opinion, there really is not a market for mid level figures like that (aside from the model kits that have started coming out, which are more entry level price and quality, plus not everyone wants to assemble and paint their figures themselves.)
It seems like there is Flame Toys and there is cheap model kits, but nothing in line with say the 1st/3rd party MP line for non-transformables, in terms of price and quality. Not to mention trying to get the whole cast from Flame Toys, well that's a second mortgage and I would guess like 30 years of waiting. I am for some reason really curious about this, despite being in the other camp and only prioritizing engineering after aesthetics.

I'd buy it over Fanstoys, but frankly, I'm just so sick of Arcee. What about Chromia? Or Nautica? Velocity? Elita-1? There's not exactly a shortage.
I *want* both the display and "action figure" elements, but display is the main priority, as it is with you. This Arcee seems like a great figure, but a bad MP figure. And that's fine. But it's not for me.

Honestly, this is a pretty decent figure for the posability. I would definitely purchase it, but the price of this is absolutely ridiculous. It's pretty much completely unpainted, lackluster plastic, and the figure costs the same as Fanstoys Rouge (not to mention Azalea is about the same size as a deluxe Transformer). For that reason alone, it's a no from me. Rouge's transformation aside, is a much more premium figure that's worth her price tag.
Still a great figure though it loses it's charm without the crazy faces.

i think alot of the people that like this over the fans toys are more into hasbro and toys than they are into collectible transformers.
In the difference in aesthetic is non-trivial. FansToys looks so much better.

I have to disagree, I like the articulated hands better. Those hand look very humanish sought of speak. The fanstoys killed it, no comparison! That Fanstoys looks absolutely beautiful! Yeah I agree am a display person myself, I rather sculpt..i mean I really do love articulation though. Actually am into Both. As always great review!
Bobby, get over us ripping on your for the paint thing. We straight up thought you goofed. Having watched a ton of your videos, it was a safe assumption you were afraid too pull too hard in fear of breaking it. We didn't know at the time there was paint in there. Stop being a snowflake about it and get over it! Lol.
Edit: also, in regards to your missing Cygar for Kup - I lost mine as well, but reached out to FansToys customer service email. Cost me like $5, but they shipped me out a couple more. Give that a shot.

I often think you're way off base on some of your objectivity and I almost always disagree with you subjectively. But this time you're pretty spot on.
MMC looks great with Takara's Hot Rod in bot mode, but they missed the mark for car mode(it's the area where the knees end up...it's not clean and not screen accurate). But if you have the rest of FT's movie/season 3 characters then you NEED Rouge for a cohesive look.
Rouge does look a bit tall next to the carbots.....but how often is she next to the carbots? If you use Azelia then you're still waiting for a Kup and Blurr that scale to her and Hot Rod(the Unique Toys Blurr is way too tall next to Hot Rod and Azelia, but only slightly too tall with the FT set).

I much prefer Rouge over this. I just don’t think Azalea looks good (especially in the face) or has the overall quality that I like for an MP figure.
Interesting since Rouge looks like a person wearing robot makeup and helmet, while Azalea looks like a proper robot face/head.
