Rare 1979 Ford F150 Lariat 460

Very original F150 Lariat. Very hard to keep it this way without wanting to put new paint on it but then it will never be original again. Truck had a box liner as well as a canopy, so the box is very straight and clean. The 460 pulls hard and the tranny still shifts great. You can still see many of the quality control markings on the engine and transmission.

Mine wasn't as nice but it had headers, a shift kit, a lighter vacuum secondary spring and I added a tachometer. Oh, and I shortened the gas pedal rod like an inch, it was more comfortable and I suppose it had a quicker throttle input. The secondary spring was so light they stuck open one cold day. I had to keep turning the key off and on to limit my speed until I could pull over about a 1/4 mile away. I raced my buddy's 85 Monte SS. He said once I hit 3rd gear I just left him in the dust. I let him use it one day and he commented on how surprised he was of the power. A cop pulled me over once in town. I floored from a stop sign burning rubber across an intersection and speed up to like 45-50mph in a 25. The first thing he asked when he came to my window was what I had under the hood. lol. He let me go. I was a speeder and so were most of my friends back then. Too bad I didn't have this vehicle when I was rat racing my other friends around the city.

Would love it if someone would produce a simple no frills truck like this today. I miss standards, crank windows, side vents, and simple dashes. I want a powerful, reliable, simple truck with a 6 speed granny low. Built with todays suspention, brakes, and headlights. Also, could you please make it sqaure again? Im sick of all the front-end plastic makeup garbage.

Yup Lots of these that were bought back then in Canada came without A/C. You didn't need it in Northern areas.
