I like #4. 5 is spacious, but that tile and heater in the bathroom reminds me of That 70s Show. AND it didn’t have an in-unit washer/dryer. I can’t wait to see which one you chose.

Ill be moving to MD pretty soon and i've been looking at both DC and MD areas and our budget is the same so this helps knowing that there are decent apts out there under 2k (#4)
yesss you can definitely find some, just gotta keep looking! i think the market prices for luxury buildings are much higher this summer so look into using a realtor it was a big help for me
I gave up my car last year so that I can have a nicer place too. Public transit isn't the best where I live but I make it work. If I move to D.C. I would definitely pick #4

There are safe areas all over DC, however, most of them are in Northwest, and upper Northeast, Southwest waterfront is cool, and Navy yard in Southeast, but if I was you, I would do your own research, and also if I plan on moving anywhere, I would also visit a couple of times to get a feel for it, and this is coming from a Washingtonian born and raised in Southeast Washington DC, 🤷🏽
