  • You can extend wifi range for free at home with an old router. This easy beginner tutorial will teach you how to use an older router or hub and convert it as a second access point for free without messing with your existing router. All you need to do is to reset the second router back to factory settings, connect it to a computer to make some simple setup, like assigning new Static IP address, disabling DCHP server, then connect it to your existing hub to act as a second access point.

      I have also created a facebook group especially to help troubleshoot computer/laptop issues. If you post your question there with some pictures or even better a short video footage you will get a better response. Consider joining but make sure you read and accept the conditions and answer the questions, otherwise you may not be approved to join. The idea is to help each other, I am unable to respond to every request by myself. facebook.com/groups/healmytech/

    i just tried looking to see if i could find those same settings on my router at home, but the settings for my router are not that straight forward, however my network is made up of 2 separate routers, the main one which carries the connection for the entire household and it has all of our configuration settings, firewall dhcp settings etc. we don't connect to the main one instead we use the second hub, but we can still get online and i am able to monitor who is connected to it just by opening up any internet browser whether on my phone or any computer, go to where it says "connection status" and all of the physical mac addresses are shown there, if i suspect that someone is connected without permission i can block them by making a note of their address and that way even if they know my pass phrase for my network, they still don't have permission to connect to it.

      I have experienced this before, weird devices connected onto my network. Its not impossible, hence the need to learn our own network configuration and make them more secure, something I am planning to learn and share on the channel.

      @@HealMyTech1 well it doesnt happen that often anymore, but the reason why I used to have to make sure nobody else could connect to my network was because one time the speed was not very good we would only be getting 6mb download and about 2mb upload speeds, the internet was absolute trash but it was all we had, so if too many devices connect all at once it would bring the bandwidth down to a crawl and make activities like streaming much harder. The one thing that our tele communications company did that I really did not like was issue us new routers as wireless, so without this other hub connected to it, I wouldn't had been able to plug my desktop back into it with a cable, the switch at the back looks like it's a normal switch but it's not, the extra ports are for the other packages that they offer like cable tv.

      So what happened is I accidentally banged my pc with my leg then it restarted and my gpu drivers were gone and I couldn’t download them so I fresh installed my pc with windows and I can download my drivers but In windows update it says I have missing important files and I also get loads of bosd most of the stop codes are different anyway I can fix these bosd

    • @HealMyTech1
      @HealMyTech1  4 года назад

      @@LOTHIX This is a difficult one as BSOD can have so many causes, more than 1 sometimes. The fact that you gave it a shock, possibly means a damage somewhere, even a light one. Possible usual suspects will be movable parts, like HDD, PSU, or even cables. If you really want to troubleshoot this, you should check for software errors first, like HDD test, CPU & GPU stress test, and even RAM test, and if not conclusive, it going to be bread-boarding the whole system and start troubleshooting.

      You may have to chose 2.4ghz instead of 5ghz in your wireless setting of your hub!
