I think Oklahoma vs Tennessee has the potential to be a great game to watch this year. I think it can come down to the last play. As a Tennessee fan, I think we lose that game since it is in Norman but it could go either way. Heupel being the coach of Tennessee adds hype to that game.

I think the comment was “When Ewers throws his first interception and the boos start, is it time for Arch?” Or something along those lines. It’s a ridiculous comment. QE is the starter. QE will be a first round pick in the NFL draft next year. Will he stay healthy? That remains to be seen. Arch will play in 2024 for sure, but there is no controversy over who is the starter. I get supporting your team but you need to be realistic. Auburn is not good you just now finally got a decent recruiting class. Meanwhile Oklahoma has been getting some of the top of the crop. They have 2 five star defensive tackles that are freshman. They just got another four star, which was the second best defensive tackle in the whole portal. They have a five star defensive, and there’s several four-star defensive ends. They have the best linebacker group. They have one of the top secondaries their offenses coming off of a top three ranking, and will only get better.
This is from when auburn was actually decent and they still lost to a defense that was terrible and auburn was #11 defensive rank
And you still couldn’t stop Oklahoma from scoring 35 points on your 11th rank defense you barely scored any points on Oklahoma’s 70th rank defense
Given those numbers and Considering the fact that Oklahoma’s defense will be top three in the SEC and their office will probably be the same. You don’t have a chance, son.

Just to refresh everyones memory. This is NOT the 1st time LSU loses its QB and 2 WRs as 1st round picks in same draft. That was the 1st time in college football history though. Now they did it again. Last time it happened tigers went on to WIN NATTY the very next season with an offense that raised its PPG avg. With a defense that also gave up more points than the season before.
Joe Sloan was the BIGGEST reason JD5 had such a massive jump from '22 to '23. Denbrock left because he wasn't too happy with CBK naming Sloan as CoOC for '24. Sloan has called games before the bowl game.
What's so special about the ENTIRE coaching staff is they ALL have longstanding deep rooted ties to LA. ALL have coached in LA prior to coming to LSU. A couple played for the tigers. More than a couple are FROM LA. There isn't a single high school in the state that multiple coaches don't have a connection to. That's why CBK was able to lockdown LA last year and will continue to do so in the future.
LSU defense will improve much MUCH more than the offense regresses.

On the ole miss section, Ole miss fans and the athletics department are happy with a good run, even if we don't make it to the playoffs, Kiffin is the best coach we have had in a long time. We only want a fun season, and even if we lose the playoffs, it's not what we're used to, we aren't a program like Alabama, where success and winning is a culture there. At ole miss, the fans only want something better than previous years where we had terrible coaches. We just want a fun season. Thats all we want, and if the playoffs are a part of that, then so be it. If not, then its fine, Kiffin won't be fired over not getting to the playoffs, as he has shown to be a great coach, and athletics knows that.

We have a 4 star freshman QB we worked really hard to recruit. So now Freeze is supposed to go buy a transfer and risk Walker White hitting the portal? Thorne will have a much better OL and WR group this year. I think Freeze is right to spend the NIL money on building depth in other positions and developing the good QBs we have into elite players.

If our defense was so great, we would not have let UF score 3 TDs on us in the first half and we would not have let Georgia run all over us. We have an alright defense (it is probably top 50% of SEC) but it is still leagues away from Georgia, LSU, Texas, or any of the top programs. If we stop giving up 3rd and longs and start getting off the field, I would agree with you. I will say it is better than Pruitt's defenses and Heupel has done an excellent job but the defense is a big question mark coming into this season.

As a Texas fan, I am not as confident as my Longhorn bretheren and sisters, I am forecasting a 3 loss season .. Georgia - loss, Michigan - loss and a shocker loss to A&M... due to the rivalry being renewed and adjusting to the SEC. I am more confident with a Manning led offense in 2025. It is Ewers team this year... hands down. Arch will come in if Ewers gets injured... if that happens.. i dont think Ewers gets his job back...

LOL. Y'all think that a team like Arkansas, will have an opportunity in the SEC, with nothing but a D-line? What is an opportunity to y'all? An opportunity to lose all of their conference games? Do y'all know it is 2024? I assume y'all know what 7-on-7 is. Have y'all seen the quality of receivers and QBs in the SEC in 2024? The teams in the SEC need a lot more than a D-line to have opportunities to win games not only at home, but especially on the road. No SEC teams are playing "3 yards and a cloud of dust" and/or "We don't make adjustments to anything the other team is doing, because my guy WILL beat your guy" and that is the only kind of teams ANY football team could have consistent opportunities against with nothing but a D-line.
I'm not saying a great D-line means nothing, because that would be equally stupid, but a defensive line and nothing much else, might be good for an upset or two, if and it is a big if, their good opponents have a terrible night. Like loses multiple fumbles, throws multiple interceptions, scoring on the kicking team. You know, the things that can happen from a single player's great effort that isn't something you can gameplan for. Even the complete teams, need enough quality D-linemen, that when the 2's come in, you lose nothing over the 1's.
Ok, you just did Auburn, 'they have to have a QB to have a chance"(paraphrased). Well yeah. That is all teams in 2024 especially in the SEC and why your take that "with a great defensive line you will have opportunities in the SEC", is way off base. Here is the deal for college football in 2024 and has been for a long time, a NFL caliber QB will win more games on a terrible team, than a team with the best defensive line but has a former 5*QB that was great in HS, playing against boys when he was already a man and has no idea how to win with his head, leaving his team with virtually no offense. AND since the premise was the Razorbacks have an opportunity because of their D-line, but with a halfass game plan against a team (Arkansas) that has no ability to cover receivers past the line of scrimmage.

Oklahoma’s offense isn’t going to change that much except for they will run the ball between the tackles better than they did last year.
Secondly, the Defense will be top three in the SEC almost every year not a whole lot of teams in the SEC and college football will be able to be that well balanced
Oklahoma will probably have a top 10 offense and rushing ability to close games out
A lot of the SEC teams will be top-heavy on one side of the ball
Georgia will be well-balanced but their offense isn’t gonna be as good as people think

They will be mostly offenses, but they have a couple of good defensive guys

There were 7 SEC defenses with exact same scoring defensive numbers or BETTER plus texass than what uo posted. There were ELEVEN SEC defenses and texass that gave up fewer yards per game than uo. You think you jumping ALL those teams?
uo is not as good DEFENSIVELY as you think.

OU’s defense will get the benefit of being better rested, provided their OCs don’t go lightning fast, with 3 & outs, either. Plus, less gimmicky offenses in the SEC, which OU can struggle with. Could end up being a wash. Time will tell!
