  • Woodturning -Resin Rim Fail
So this week I decided to try turning a resin rim bowl for the first time and include some colored inserts such as roses and hearts. Unfortunately I didn't plan well and ended up with a big disappointment.
Oh well, we live and learn 😬

Thank you for the kind words Tim. If only I had sat the inserts on the epoxy when I was sealing the rim groove. Oh well... Next time. 👍

HI Mark. At 3:51 is that a gigantic round nosed scraper or was it the camera angle. If so I've been looking for one that big. Where did you get it? 😀

Hi Marilyn. Yes it is a large round nose scraper and I find it invaluable. I actually made it myself for quite cheap and it's quite easy to do. Here is a link to how I did it.

@@marilynbolton7524 you are welcome Marilyn. If you have a look you will see I used an old utility/truck leaf spring for the metal and it's surprisingly good and cheap.

The rim may not be what you wanted but the piece is very nice. You did a great job with it.
BTW, I need your mailing address asap.
