Thanks for the info on the video! Super helpful. So, I got this card in Dec with a sign up bonus of 75k. Spending 3K within 3 months. Do I have to immediately pay off that $3k to earn the bonus points? How do I check the status of the bonus points? Is there somewhere on the app that says I have met the criteria for the bonus points?
I believe that you’ll get your Rapid Rewards points shortly after you hit that 3k spend point. Don’t have to pay it off right away to get them. I don’t know why they don’t have a better tracker on this card. Other chase cards come with a bar that fills up to show your progress. The best way is to chat or call into Chase Customer service. You can use the number on the back of the card and find out pretty quick. Annoying I know 😐

There's a promo going on right now where if you apply for the card before 3/11/2024, then you can get the companion pass until 2/28/2025 if you spend $4,000 on purchases in the first three months from account opening. This promo expires on 3/11/2024. If you don't get it then it's gone. So wait. I just signed up today 9/8/23. So I have to try and earn the points by December? I thought my year started when I got the card...say 98/23 - 9/8/24? So it made no sense for me to get the card???
Yes Southwest works on a calendar year for their companion pass. If you just got the card, you have until Dec. 31 to earn the companion pass then your points towards that reset. In my opinion it's an incredible benefit, but a system that makes absolutely no sense.
@@TheRDGuarantee yeah cuz I'm only going 2-3 places by Dec. I am getting the $200 off of a $247 flight tho (after I spend $500, which I'll easily do) - the $69 fee. They should rethink this. Thanks for responding. Liked and subscribed. 👍🏾

Points restart no matter what at the beginning of each calendar year?
You keep every reward point you earn. Tracking towards companion pass status or A list status resets to 0 at the end of every calendar year
I’m confused so if i can spend 4k in 3 months i get a companion pass for the rest of this year and all of next year?

It's a little high, but there is a PRIORITY card with a $149 annual fee. 😬
Annual fee is nothing when you’re getting thousands of dollars in free flights.
