Would you change anything about how I ranked my 16 credit cards? (P.S. - If I get the Capital One Venture X next, then where should I rank that card here?)
Have a question about this: after you get Venture X, will that become your new catch all card instead of freedom unlimited (Venture X gets 2x while CFU gets 1.5x)? If you continue to use CFU as your catch all card, is it only because you prefer chase partners more than capital one partners? thanks man!
Venture X would be a strong #2 for me, but probably #1. I'm about to apply for it soon. That with the AMEX Gold is the ultimate combo. 10x on hotels/rental cars, 5x on travel with Venture X, then 4x on Dining/Groceries with AMEX Gold, then 2x on EVERYTHING ELSE with the Venture X. Not to mention you get cell phone protection with the Venture X plus price matching when using the Capital One Travel Portal, including some of the best international travel partners, $300 travel credit + 10k miles every year anniversary bonus + $100 credit for Global/TSA Precheck + access to over 1300 Priority Pass lounges, AND only $395 annual fee. Can you say free Business Class every flight? lol exciting times 💯
Haha yeah I think that's a good way to look at it! I hate even saying it's my worst card because like I said it's still a good one with the 2% back and $200 bonus!
I just got into the credit card point game and you have been so helpful. I already had the chase unlimited but recently got the freedom flex and sapphire to complete the trifecta. So far im loving it. I also just got the citi custom cash yesterday, which i plan on using strictly for groceries. I feel like i lost so much time and money by not doing this earlier in life.
Love to hear that and thanks for watching my videos! Also great to see you were able to get the Chase Trifecta and Custom Cash which are 4 cards that go so well together!
The best set up is : 1. Citi double cash (2X on everything) 2. Citi custom cash ( 5x on gas) 3. Capital one savor card ( 3x on dinning & groceries) With my spend , I make 700$ a year in cash back no annual fee :)
Nice video Daniel. For me: 1. Amex Gold (Dining/Groceries) 2. Citi Custom Cash (Gas) 3. CSR ( Travel) 4. Hotel Card (Hilton Aspire or WOH) 5. Everything else either Freedom Unlimited or Amex Blue Business Plus
Nice, sounds like you're a big Hilton guy then so I get that! Hard to argue the Amex Gold being #1 for people like us that are deep in the credit card game haha
Very interesting ranking. My top 5 would be: 1) Chase Sapphire Preferred 2) American Express Gold 3) Chase Freedom Flex 4) Paypal World Mastercard 5) American Express Green
The American Express Gold is a really good card, but I don't think it's the card for me. I don't really use Uber or Uber eats, and don't eat at the restaurants included in the credits. So while I could use Uber and eat at those restaurants, I think it would just be extra spend I normally wouldn't do, so I'd come out on the losing side. I prefer the SavorOne card, as that's 3% back on dining and groceries with no annual fee. That card makes the most sense for me. Especially since I do most of my grocery shopping at a wholesale club.
I really like how you were able to take a step back and look at how the Gold Card vs the SavorOne would work for you! It definitely sounds like the right choice to go with the SavorOne for you which I think is easily a top 3 no annual fee credit card!
1. CSP (Travel, streaming services) 2. Apple Card (everything else) 3. CFF (Dining) 4. Discover it Chrome (miscellaneous, first card so I’m keeping it open to increase history) 5. Amazon Visa (Amazon) 6. Walmart Capital One (Walmart lol)
Capitalone venture X is hands down my favorite. I own that one and Amex platinum and the venture x with its earning potential and travel credit and the easier user experience of the travel portal make it my top
I'd rate the Ink Cash a bit higher tbh; the 5x points back on internet and phone is great, you can set it up to auto pay 100% of the balance every month, and just use it to auto pay your internet and phone. Set it and forget it, it will stay active all the time and give you 5x points on basic services everyone pays for with zero annual fee. I just signed up for it and redeemed 45k of those 75k points at 2.6 CPP with Hyatt as well, so it's a really lucrative SUB :)
I just got the BILT and paid August's rent easy-peasy. I'd regret that I didn't get it sooner if I weren't too busy being happy that I'll accue 30,000+ points a year just from paying rent.
My #1 Pick 🤝Your #1 Pick. Ton of great cards on the list here Daniel with specific use cases, including for specific credits, travel benefits or even to increase length of Credit History with a No AF Card. The AMEX Business Gold is also my newest Card, and also locked in that 100K targeted offer! BTW- I'd definitely go Venture X Top 3 at the minimum with the ability to be used as a Keeper Card + all of the travel benefits that come along with it!
I think a lot of people will agree that the Amex Gold card is tough to beat! Great to hear that you got the Business Gold card too with that offer! And yeah the Venture X is what I'm gonna reapply for probably next month since I got denied for it back in December. I definitely wanna add that card here to my setup as well
Chase Sapphire Reserve works really well for us right now due to cruises getting 3x points back and getting 50% extra value so it's like getting a 4.5% discount on cruises and other travel expenses outside of flight, hotel, and car rentals.
Booking cruises with the right card like that sounds like a good use if that's something that you like to do a lot! I haven't ever done a cruise before, but the Sapphire Reserve would be a good card for booking one
Love to hear that! I always throw that in there about Penn State to see if any other Penn Staters see it and comment. Enjoy your time there, it's a great place!
That 5 free night Marriott Boundless bonus was pretty difficult to pass up for me as well haha. Might consider upgrading to the ritz Carlton card in the long run which has some top tier benefits!
Yeah I'm glad that I was able to take advantage of that offer while I could! And I've heard some other people suggest the Ritz Carlton card as well - I'll look into it more because it's popular with good benefits but I want to make sure it'll give me enough value. So maybe I would product change to that instead if it makes sense!
Smart to go with Chase while still under 5/24! After that then yeah I think the Gold card would be great! Platinum and CSP are my 2 favorite travel cards right now. Thanks for watching Jacob!
My credit card setup to date are all of the 5 cards you have in your Top 5. Such a solid 5 card setup, and I currently don’t see a need for me personally to acquire any other cards. Of course that could change in the future. However for the time being, the Chase trifecta + Citi Custom Cash + Amex Gold are a nearly bulletproof credit card setup for everyday spending. Another great video as always!👌
I like these 5 cards for everyday spend: citi custom cash (gas) Amex gold (restaurants) citi double cash (everything else, especially bills) blue cash preferred (groceries) & platinum card (travel) fyi I don’t have any chase cards… I do think savor one is great for entertainment & citi premier is a very underrated card. You can make a case for citi rewards for small purchases as you can round up. I’m going have to say best airline card is American Airlines business card. You miss your flight & have a credit card w/ AA they will make sure you get on next flight asap. They have credit card member on bold black letters on your boarding passes & easily worth $99 a year if you fly AA
I really like that setup a lot, tons of value with those cards you mentioned! That American Airlines business card is also one that I should be adding later this year because I fly American most of the time when I'm traveling out of my home airport in Philly. Thanks so much for watching and commenting!
@@Daniel_Braun Question, if I apply in branch, theyre currently offering 70k bonus points. Would that be a good idea to grab it over the current 60k or wait it out some to see if the 80k does come back? I also read that some in branch applicants received 90k while the online applicants were offered 80k. Seems like in-branch likes to offer 10k more..
They keep sending me pre selected offers for pre approval for CSP with 80K bonus points. I believe what they show on site is different from the mail offers
Running the Chase trifecta with surprisingly the CSP being my most used card. I just added the Citi Custom Cash for groceries and use the Amex Prime business card for those Amazon purchases. I have 3 other cards that I use occasionally for credit history. Only reason to get any other cards right now would be to bonus hunt and take a trip or two.
Sounds like a great setup right now and well thought out! Yeah the sign up bonuses are always going to be something to take advantage of for a future trip
Definitely keep in mind that if you spend a ton of money on groceries the Amex Blue Cash Preferred gives 5% back, but I just referred someone and they started giving me 11% back (for 3 months) on top of the $175 referral credit. That's pretty killer. Amazon Prime Visa is also great with 5% back on everything there with the first 3 months being 5% back online anywhere (up to $2500 in purchases) and a $150 gift card.
Just opened up the Amex Gold with a 90k bonus! I’m kind of surprised you can’t track your progress towards earning it though. That seems like a weird omission since you can track ones for other cards like Chase
Hey thanks for the video. Word of advice please, I´m trying to sign up for my first rewards CC. I arrived to the US about 1 year ago now, built my credit score (through Capital One) and now trying to get into the rewards credit card world. AMEX gold sounds like most of the peoples #1 everywhere I look with the Chase Preferred usually. Also, we would hit that $4,000 in the first 6 months for sure. Is it a good first credit card? What about a card with cash back? Thanks, been churning your vids the last couple of days!!
I would say to start with either no annual fee Chase cards that earn points like the Freedom Flex or Freedom Unlimited - or the Capital One SavorOne which also has no annual fee and earns cash back that can later be converted to Capital One Miles if your get the Venture X. If you get one of those Chase Freedom cards, then you can save up points and later get the CSP to redeem those points for more travel. Hope that makes sense, but personally I would wait to get the Amex Gold card until you have a few other base cards first And thank you so much for watching many of my videos!
Hey man, Can you make a video on a reasonable dream credit card for you if you had to stack all the benefits in one card and you could only carry that.
Thanks Jason! I'm not sure exactly, but having bank accounts with an issuer definitely can help by having that relationship with them. I had a Wells Fargo checking account that my parents set up for me as a kid and I had that at the time I got my first student credit card with them, so I'm sure that helped me get approved in some way!
Daniel, what can I say, you should have the rose gold card. Classic gold is out of style, it’s all about rose gold now. Besides that, you definitely have a pretty good setup. I forgot that you have the active cash card!
Haha I'm still team "Classic" Gold Card! Something about that yellow gold just looks good to me, but so does the rose gold so can't go wrong with either!
Chase Travel portal prices are higher. Since we are multiplying Chase points when transferring them to other Chase cards, is it still worth buying tickets on the Chase portal? I already booked a hotel room with fees and all for $100, and for the same room, through the Chase portal, the total amount would be $110, but this is just one case. What about your experience in general with Chase travel portal prices? Great video!
If I had the Amex Gold card, it would probably be my number one card too. I think it is one of the best cards on the market for the 4x points on food categories. Right now my number one card is the U.S. Bank Cash+ for the 5% cash back that I usually pick for home utilities and TV/Internet/Streaming as they are fairly high expenses. However, the Chase Freedom Flex comes in as a close number 2 for me.
Agreed John, that Amex Gold is tough to beat for anyone that has the card! But your US Bank Cash + is an underrated card so good to hear that you're enjoying that one - plus the Freedom Flex is always a favorite of mine as well. Thanks as always for watching!
Been following you for a little bit and new (@51) with the points game. I’m at the point in life where my oldest just graduated PSU and the wife and I want to travel more. Have the Chase Freedom Unlimited and Sapphire setup and used it last year for a trip to San Diego. Just got approved for the Amex Gold this week and Cap One just sent me an email to try the pre approval with no impact to credit score. They recommended QS, Savor, Savor1, Venture or Venture1. Out of those which would you recommend going for first? Great job with the channel. Thanks for all the great info.
Honestly I gotta use my CSP more because I don't think I could rank it in the top 5 for my personal setup. Of course I don't use the CDW or $50 hotel credit so that drops the value for me a lot. I love this video but just don't let any of ur cards watch it 😳not sure how ur active cash card will feel about it 😂
Yeah the only downside with the CSP for me is that I mainly use it for rental cars and streaming and that's it, so I wish maybe it was at least 3x on all groceries and not online groceries. Lol don't worry no credit card feelings were hurt in the making of this video! 😂
I've heard of people doing that so maybe that's something I'd consider! But not sure if I personally would get enough value so I'll need to look into it a little more
BILT master card is questionable as their only source of customer support is through social media and emails. Every time you get connected with a "banker" you get disconnected. It's frustrating for urgent matters, i.e. when I generated a rent check and there was an error in processing after it debited my bank account. Yeah, scary. But it is a good deal. 3x dining is pretty awesome for my collection of cards.
I haven't had any issues personally with paying rent through Bilt, but sounds like customer service is something that could be improved for issues like this based on your experience! When I had an unauthorized charge on my Bilt card a few months ago, they had me call Wells Fargo and all of that was handled quickly and easily. But I guess the paying rent process is handled differently with customer service.
@@Daniel_Braun Yeah, that's likely the reason. They were pretty great after finally having a consistent rep to speak with and they were able to resolve my matter and issue a 500 point for the inconvenience. Hopefully it's smooth on out from here!
Thats alot of CCs! How are managing all of them to keep them from being closed? Are you using a spreadsheet or something to track which ones to use? I'm using cardpulse for my extra 4 cause it simplifies everything for me but would love to hear from someone with 16, about to be 17 cards.
I have 17 open rn, it's really not hard. Once or twice a year I pull out the "sock drawer" cards, put a charge on each, then pay them off in a few days when the charges post. Have yet to have one closed for inactivity, but C1 did send me a warning once for inactivity.
Hey Daniel. Love your RUclips page and love you videos. They have helped me so much. Quick question. Is there a way I can contact you directly about a quick question about 1 of my cards in my wallet?? Just looking for a opinion. Thanks
The points you earn on the travel cards do they ever expire? Do you have to use them by a certain time or they just rack up? I recently got my first cash back CC and I love to travel so I was thinking about getting a travel CC to earn points to use.
Hello Daniel, I need your advice to get a new credit card! So basically I have the amex gold for Travel, Resturant, and Grocery I will have citi custom cash for Gas I am looking for a credit card to use online purchase, not only for Amazon (So I am looking for good cash back or mileage with good welcome bonous) No annual fee, and I am single person. So I don't want to have annual fee card atm since I have amex gold. I am thinking to get Chase Sapphire later once I use Amex points.
Aspire and Platinum are my top followed by the Business Gold, Gold and then the Navy Federal Flagship or the PayPal Mastercard or Bilt Mastercard but I have 31 cards so I don't really know. 🤣😅
That Aspire card has been a popular card lately! I'd love to see you breaking down and ranking all of your 31 cards in a video! But I'm sure that could be an hour long because that's a lot 😂
If I pay for my yearly prime membership with the freedom flex when amazon is a category for that quarter does that count as an eligible 5% amazon purchase for the quarter?
I’d get roasted if someone saw how little I use my Amex Gold at the current moment.😭But my wife and I are doing a last minute push for chase UR points before we book a 2 week long trip to Croatia next year. Back when I was using it (and when I’ll start using it regularly again in the next month)…the Gold is my number 1. As far as the cards I’ve been using the most at the moment, the Chase Freedom Flex is probably my top. The BILT has been heavily on my radar; might be a July pickup👀
Haha I get that though! Honestly I've got a big imbalance of more Amex Points than Chase points lately, so I've been focusing on Chase points where I can as well. But as I was making this video it was tough to put anything above the Gold card. Nice to see the Freedom Flex mixed in there for you and possibly the Bilt card as well - paying rent to earn those valuable Bilt points has been fun for me!
I actually got denied for the Venture X back at the end of December so I've been waiting to reapply very soon! I really like Capital One and anticipate I'll add 1-2 of those cards, but they can be tough with approvals for someone like me with a lot of credit card accounts and inquiries
I’m surprised that the Chase Ink Business Cash Card isn’t ranked much higher on your list. It’s one of my best credit cards as it gives me 5X UR points on my internet and cell phone bills every month. I easily get at least 1,500 UR points a month from this card which is actually a lot more than I get from my Sapphire Preferred on a monthly basis. I don’t understand why the Ink Cash doesn’t get much love on RUclips in general as I think everyone has cable, internet, and cell phone bills to pay so they can all benefit from the 5X points which are transferable if a Sapphire card is present.
I want the Marriott boundless but man the sign up bonus is not so enticing at this moment in time. I also thought about the free hilton card but hilton cpp seems even worse than Marriott
Yeah Hilton points are worth less than Marriott so it's important to compare! Hilton does offset this with higher bonuses on certain cards and Amex Points transfer to Hilton at a 1:2 rate - so it really depends on the hotel for whether redeeming points with either programs is worth it
You are undervaluing the Ink Cash card. You can buy gift cards for so many situations at office supply stores and get 5x points instead of the weak multipliers that other Chase Cards has. For example I’ll buy Chipotle gift cards as I eat there a lot. 5x is better than 3x. Also I can buy Amazon Gift Cards and get 5X while saving myself having to buy Prime. You get free shipping anyways when you spend over $25 and I’ve never had a package take more than 2-3 days anyways. You can also put your cell phone cable and internet on the card. It’s a must have in the Chase setup
To me I just don't like going through the trouble of managing gift cards and remembering balances and stuff like that. There's also slightly more risk if you lose the gift cards and some other benefits like purchase protection go away which could be valuable for certain purchases. I also don't have cable and my internet company charges an extra fee for paying by credit card so I just avoid (that which I didn't get to mention here in this video). Plus I personally prefer to keep my business and personal expenses separate, so I don't really put many personal expenses on business cards at the moment. But I know that the 5x on gift cards thing can be appealing for earning more points for anyone that wants to do that, so it's a smart way of thinking outside the box with these categories! Thanks for watching and commenting Brandon, appreciate it!
I would get the Chase Flex to take benefit of the 5% for Gas for the next quarter, but I already have the Discover It, and next quarter is also 5% in gas LOL. The Citi cash seems to be a great option for gas all year.
Hi Dan, random question… if I am additional card holder with Amex, if I apply myself will I get approved? Will I get bonus offer? Do I need to wait 48 months?
Does chase upgrade their student card to their discontinued freedom? I’d still want to get some use out of my oldest account whilst still being eligible for both sign up bonuses on the two freedoms later on
I'm actually not completely sure about that one! I would look around Reddit to see if anyone else has any data points on that. I would assume that you should be able to because you can downgrade other cards in that product family to the discontinued Freedom. I totally get what you're saying with watching the other 2 Freedom card sign up bonuses!
Great video thanks right now I use the united airlines explorer card the best buy card the city rewards plus card and the m life las vegas card from the bank of Omaha.
Random but if info, I just upgraded my chase slate card to a freedom. Not open to new applications, but you can upgrade to it from a no points card like the old slate!
hi daniel im 19 I have a discover it and chase freedom unlimited, which should be my next card i want the amex gold but don't know if i should get another chase card to build the trifecta. Let me know what you think i should get as my next card!
I'd say that there's not need to rush to get the Amex Gold card yet when there's still so many great no annual fee cards that you can build up to first! The Chase Freedom Flex would probably be my next choice if I was in your situation - but don't rush to get too many cards too fast either. Hope that helps!
@@Daniel_Braun thank you! i watched “you only need these 5 cards” and saw 3 of the 5 were chase cards for the travel side. I then watched your chase trifecta video, so i’m going to get the chase freedom flex to have 2 of the 3 chase cards and shoot for the complete trifecta! Thank you for your response
Hi! Curious question, a buddy of mine said Chase business cards count towards 5/24 bc they are factored into vour 5/24 score since those cards are issued by Chase. So, if in the last 24 months, you were approved for four personal cards and one business card from Chase, you have no more slots available because you're already at 5/24. Is this true ?
2 excellent cards right there and 2 of my favorites! I would have put the Sapphire Preferred higher, but I think Chase needs to improve the point multipliers just a little bit because I don't get to put much spending on it. I have it more for the features and benefits like transferring points. But both cards are great!
I have chase freedom flex and this is my first credit card here in the US.. which credit card do i need to get next? I got an offer from amex and capital one with amex everyday card and capital one quick silver. Do i need to accept one of those cards or its better to go for sapphire prefred or amex gold?
Only personal cards count towards the 5/24 rule, but you have to be under 5/24 to get approved for Chase business cards. So I could get a Chase Ink card at 4/24 and stay at 4/24, but I could not get approved for that same card if I was at 5/24
Yeah there are some transfer partners that overlap with both Chase and Amex, so you could transfer to the same one using both points. Just as an example, British Airways is a partner for both so you could transfer 25,000 Chase points and 25,000 Amex points to end up with 50,000 Avios in British Airways. But NEVER transfer points to a transfer partner until after you've confirmed award availability with a specific flight you want to book because once you transfer points out of Chase or Amex you can't transfer them back!
What about Well Fargo Autograph? 3% unlimited cash back on gas ? If you’re truck driver or driving a lot i this it’s a no brainer. Please correct me if Im wrong
I’m sort of confused. Let’s say I get a 0% apr card for 15 months. 10 months from now I decide to make a big purchase… does that mean I only have 5 months of 0% ? Or it starts when I purchase ?
I'm waiting to sign up for the Chase Freedom Flex until the sign up bonus that includes 5% back on groceries or gas in the first year returns. Does anyone have any idea when Chase typically runs this promotion?
The sign up bonus doesn’t include that it gives you points the 5 percent back is a rotating quarterly bonus that is coming up this July through September it’s a very great card though
I got a 20k points + 5% grocery offer for the CFF last December! Not sure if it’ll be back sooner though. Lucked out because it stacked with the Q1 2023 grocery rotating category
Not sure when an offer like that will be back, but I got the CFF 5% grocery offer in October 2021 and my fiancé got the same 5% grocery offer in October 2022 - so maybe look out for it in Q4. Not sure though and I haven't heard anything on my end - but I'll update the channel if someone comes up!
i’m 18 and my first ever credit card was the chase freedom flex and i have had it for about 8 months now and i’m at a 725 credit score but i’m wondering if i should get a new credit card soon and if i do what would be a good choice for me to try to go for ? i’m super good at budgeting and know how to actually spend money compared to others around my age too. if anyone can help me in what i should go for next that would be amazing and i would appreciate any help! i was thinking about the amex gold but i don’t know if i would even get approved or not? i have a good income and have been working for a long time now. any thoughts ?
Would you change anything about how I ranked my 16 credit cards?
(P.S. - If I get the Capital One Venture X next, then where should I rank that card here?)
Capital One Venture X would definitely get into #3 or #2 I think !
@@0411ameya I would probably agree with that! Definitely going to be interesting card if I can get it next month hopefully
Have a question about this: after you get Venture X, will that become your new catch all card instead of freedom unlimited (Venture X gets 2x while CFU gets 1.5x)? If you continue to use CFU as your catch all card, is it only because you prefer chase partners more than capital one partners? thanks man!
VentureX is my fav. #1 for me!
If your worst card is the WF Active Cash card, I'd say you're doing pretty good!!
Haha yeah I think that's a good way to look at it! I hate even saying it's my worst card because like I said it's still a good one with the 2% back and $200 bonus!
@@Daniel_Brauncan You transfer those point to the bilt card ?
I just got into the credit card point game and you have been so helpful. I already had the chase unlimited but recently got the freedom flex and sapphire to complete the trifecta. So far im loving it. I also just got the citi custom cash yesterday, which i plan on using strictly for groceries. I feel like i lost so much time and money by not doing this earlier in life.
Love to hear that and thanks for watching my videos! Also great to see you were able to get the Chase Trifecta and Custom Cash which are 4 cards that go so well together!
The best set up is :
1. Citi double cash (2X on everything)
2. Citi custom cash ( 5x on gas)
3. Capital one savor card ( 3x on dinning & groceries)
With my spend , I make 700$ a year in cash back no annual fee :)
And no point coupon booking crap
Nice video Daniel. For me: 1. Amex Gold (Dining/Groceries) 2. Citi Custom Cash (Gas) 3. CSR ( Travel) 4. Hotel Card (Hilton Aspire or WOH) 5. Everything else either Freedom Unlimited or Amex Blue Business Plus
The AMEX Gold and Hilton Aspire are neck and neck for my #1 card. For perks, I'd go with the Aspire but for everyday use, the AMEX Gold for sure
Nice, sounds like you're a big Hilton guy then so I get that! Hard to argue the Amex Gold being #1 for people like us that are deep in the credit card game haha
Very interesting ranking. My top 5 would be:
1) Chase Sapphire Preferred
2) American Express Gold
3) Chase Freedom Flex
4) Paypal World Mastercard
5) American Express Green
Nice! That PayPal card is underrated
@@Daniel_BraunIf you believe it’s underrated, why did you not mention it in this video?
Because this video is only ranking the current credit cards I personally have. I don’t have that PayPal credit card right now
@@Daniel_Braun Gotcha
The American Express Gold is a really good card, but I don't think it's the card for me. I don't really use Uber or Uber eats, and don't eat at the restaurants included in the credits. So while I could use Uber and eat at those restaurants, I think it would just be extra spend I normally wouldn't do, so I'd come out on the losing side.
I prefer the SavorOne card, as that's 3% back on dining and groceries with no annual fee. That card makes the most sense for me. Especially since I do most of my grocery shopping at a wholesale club.
I use Uber eats and do pick up. I avoid all fees. Same thing for Grubhub. That’s how I use my $20 credit every month
I really like how you were able to take a step back and look at how the Gold Card vs the SavorOne would work for you! It definitely sounds like the right choice to go with the SavorOne for you which I think is easily a top 3 no annual fee credit card!
1. CSP (Travel, streaming services)
2. Apple Card (everything else)
3. CFF (Dining)
4. Discover it Chrome (miscellaneous, first card so I’m keeping it open to increase history)
5. Amazon Visa (Amazon)
6. Walmart Capital One (Walmart lol)
I got my gold amex card for 90,000 points intro offer for 4000$ spent in the first 6 months! It was one of the best intro offers I've ever seen
Def a good idea to plan a big purchase around a card offer
Thanks an awesome sign up bonus! Much better than the 60,000 points I got haha
@@ToothlesstheNightFury510 exactly
Hey Daniel... can you do a video on US Bank credit cards? They have a sweet cash back card, and also "Altitude" travel focused cards.
Capitalone venture X is hands down my favorite. I own that one and Amex platinum and the venture x with its earning potential and travel credit and the easier user experience of the travel portal make it my top
such a great breakdown, i agree with so much of what you said
Thanks so much, glad to hear that! Appreciate the support 👍
Great cards and overview! The top 5 in my setup would be Aspire #1, Gold #2, CFF #3, BBP #4 and CSP #5. ✌️
The Aspire has been at the top of many people's lists lately! Great other cards to round out your top 5 as well 👍
I just got the BILT and paid August's rent easy-peasy. I'd regret that I didn't get it sooner if I weren't too busy being happy that I'll accue 30,000+ points a year just from paying rent.
1) Citi Double Cash (everything)
2) Wells Fargo Autograph (3X on SEPTA)
3) Citi Custom Cash (Grocery/Coffee)
4) Chase Sapphire Preferred (Rent)
5) Chase Freedom Unlimited (Don’t know why I don’t use this)
6/7) Hilton Honors + Citi AAdvantage Platinum select (never use except to buy gum or milk. Tied for last)
Really nice setup! Do you just have a 2-3% processing fee by paying rent with the CSP? (Also shoutout to SEPTA haha)
@@Daniel_Braun yeah, unfortunately I do have the 3% which is passed on to me so I pay an extra $43 and some change
I definitely wanna add that card here to my setup as well
16 credit cards is crazy.
Yeah it can be a bit much for some people, but it's worked well for me!
YOOO! I never knew you were a penn state alumni! That’s dope! Class of 2025 here!
Love to hear that! I always throw that in there about Penn State to see if any other Penn Staters see it and comment. Enjoy your time there, it's a great place!
Love my Sapphire preferred. Great video! 👏🏾
One of my favorites too! Great card to have. And thanks so much, glad you liked it!
The AAA Daily Advantage Visa Signature is a great no annual fee card. 5% groceries,3% wholesale clubs.$100 sign up bonus. No int fee
Nice, I'll have to take a look at that card because that sounds pretty good! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Great video as always bro! Kudos on helping out so many people out there.
Great video Daniel! Loving the content recently. Best!
Thanks so much Julian! Really appreciate you watching!
Right now I love my Platinum and Sapphire Preferred. I’m considering the Gold once I’m locked out of Chase because of 5/24
Smart to go with Chase while still under 5/24!
I really enjoy your videos, the've been helping me a lot!
Thanks for sharing Dan. I admit that my mix is a bit more bland, but it works for me. I always enjoy hearing your thoughts though on your own cards.
Thanks as always for watching! Always good to just have the cards that work best for you, and everyone will have a different setup based on that!
I like these 5 cards for everyday spend: citi custom cash (gas) Amex gold (restaurants) citi double cash (everything else, especially bills) blue cash preferred (groceries) & platinum card (travel)
fyi I don’t have any chase cards… I do think savor one is great for entertainment & citi premier is a very underrated card.
So sad I missed out on the 80k sapphire preferred deal. That's the next card I want so I'm waiting on that to come back around to grab it.
Yeah hopefully that comes back again soon, I'll update the channel when it does!
@@Daniel_Braun That would be appreciated :D thank you!
Yeah the sign up bonuses are always going to be something to take advantage of for a future trip
we don't have very many good cards in Canada but we do have the Amex Cobalt, which is just built different
I've heard a lot of people in Canada talk about that card! But yeah the cards are just different in the US vs Canada
Did you just drop off of the screen?! Fun! Time to watch
Haha a cool new effect from the video editor! I liked it a lot!
If you get the max rewards app it will track it for you 😁
Yeah I wish that they would have something like that to track the progress!
Did you get an offer directly through Amex? I’ve been waiting on the bigger bonus offer.
Hope that makes sense, but personally I would wait to get the Amex Gold card until you have a few other base cards first
And thank you so much for watching many of my videos!
This list is super inspiring Daniel! Great setup you’ve created here. Definitely looking to add like half of these cards haha - Bilt is up next 👍
Thanks Josh! I'm looking to add a few more cards soon as well. Bilt is a great one for you to add, I've loved earning points on rent now!
Hey man, Can you make a video on a reasonable dream credit card for you if you had to stack all the benefits in one card and you could only carry that.
That's an interesting idea for a video! There's so many things that I would include haha - but I'll see what I can do!
Great video! I wonder how hard it is to get the Active Cash Card if you do not have any checking or saving account with Wells Fargo?
Thanks Jason! I'm not sure exactly, but having bank accounts with an issuer definitely can help by having that relationship with them. I had a Wells Fargo checking account that my parents set up for me as a kid and I had that at the time I got my first student credit card with them, so I'm sure that helped me get approved in some way!
Daniel, what can I say, you should have the rose gold card. Classic gold is out of style, it’s all about rose gold now. Besides that, you definitely have a pretty good setup. I forgot that you have the active cash card!
@@joshua.butler 🙌🏾 🙌🏾
Haha I'm still team "Classic" Gold Card! Something about that yellow gold just looks good to me, but so does the rose gold so can't go wrong with either!
Chase Travel portal prices are higher. Since we are multiplying Chase points when transferring them to other Chase cards, is it still worth buying tickets on the Chase portal?
I already booked a hotel room with fees and all for $100, and for the same room, through the Chase portal, the total amount would be $110, but this is just one case. What about your experience in general with Chase travel portal prices?
Great video!
Best card in my opinion is the capital one venture x
It's one of the very best on the market right now! Hopefully I'll get approved when I reapply in the next month or so!
Fingers crossed you get it! I really enjoy having that card , especially when I go overseas .
That’s a fire roster! 🔥
Thank you, I appreciate it! I'm definitely happy with these cards
@@Daniel_Braun 😂😂😂
great video, very informative, thanks for sharing
Just having 4 CC is a pain in the but lol😅 but having 16 oh boy that has to be a nightmare
I’d suggest PCing Boundless to Ritz if you get the chance.
I've heard of people doing that so maybe that's something I'd consider! But not sure if I personally would get enough value so I'll need to look into it a little more
@@Daniel_Braun - I’m in the same boat. I have the Aspire, which I think pays for itself more easily than the Ritz. The PP restaurant access though…
Citi Custom Cash and Go Altitude are 2 of the best.
I love the Custom Cash, and that Altitude Go card is also very underrated! Thanks for watching Jake!
You don't have Venture-x? It's becoming my favorite card
Thanks
I haven't used my 15 year old chase freedom for years and it stayed active on my account lol
Haha maybe Chase forgot that you have it so they won't close it!
The points you earn on the travel cards do they ever expire? Do you have to use them by a certain time or they just rack up? I recently got my first cash back CC and I love to travel so I was thinking about getting a travel CC to earn points to use.
Hello Daniel,
I need your advice to get a new credit card!
So basically I have the amex gold for Travel, Resturant, and Grocery
I will have citi custom cash for Gas
I am looking for a credit card to use online purchase, not only for Amazon (So I am looking for good cash back or mileage with good welcome bonous)
No annual fee, and I am single person.
@@Daniel_Braun I've had the Aspire for a good while now and it's by far one of my favorite and best cards.
Keep up the good work Daniel 🫡
If I pay for my yearly prime membership with the freedom flex when amazon is a category for that quarter does that count as an eligible 5% amazon purchase for the quarter?
Yeah that should count!
I’m planning for Croatia too!
Crazy how no capital one cards on this list, esp the venture x or the savor. But hey, to each their own i suppose.
I actually got denied for the Venture X back at the end of December so I've been waiting to reapply very soon! I really like Capital One and anticipate I'll add 1-2 of those cards, but they can be tough with approvals for someone like me with a lot of credit card accounts and inquiries
@@Daniel_Braun I got denied as well! maybe they're super strict with # of accounts opened
What cards are you considering adding next? Thoughts on US Bank Cash Plus and Altitude Reserve?
If i plan on traveling a couple times per year, do you think the amex plat is worth it?
I would get the Chase Flex to take benefit of the 5% for Gas for the next quarter, but I already have the Discover It, and next quarter is also 5% in gas LOL. The Citi cash seems to be a great option for gas all year.
Same with the flex and discover. 😅
CFF and Amex blue cash everyday my perfect duo
2 of my favorite no annual fee cards!
Chase freedom flex is the best :)
Do i need a good credit score to get all of these?
Random but if info, I just upgraded my chase slate card to a freedom. Not open to new applications, but you can upgrade to it from a no points card like the old slate!
My Wells Fargo Signature card makes my Active Cash a little more interesting 😀
The Active Cash is a pretty good card overall for a flat 2% back! Thanks for watching 👍
@davidwilliam9451 Yes, I don't seem to have any issues moving cash (Active Cash) and points (Signature) to each other. Autograph coming up soon! 😀
hi daniel im 19 I have a discover it and chase freedom unlimited, which should be my next card i want the amex gold but don't know if i should get another chase card to build the trifecta.
Thank you for your response
hmm I was waiting for your ranking on apple credit card.
Amex Gold & Chase Sapphire are my top 2 cards
2 excellent cards right there and 2 of my favorites! I would have put the Sapphire Preferred higher, but I think Chase needs to improve the point multipliers just a little bit because I don't get to put much spending on it. I have it more for the features and benefits like transferring points. But both cards are great!
@@Daniel_Braun Agreed, reason I prefer Sapphire is because the travel portal gives you a way better bang for your buck compared to amex.
Interesting question........Where do you think the Venture X will fall on this list when u get it?
TOP 5??
If so....what card it knocks out the top 5?
I have chase freedom flex and this is my first credit card here in the US.. which credit card do i need to get next? I got an offer from amex and capital one with amex everyday card and capital one quick silver. Do i need to accept one of those cards or its better to go for sapphire prefred or amex gold?
Is the chase 5/24 rule for personal cards only or does business cards against your credit count?
Personal only
Only personal cards count towards the 5/24 rule, but you have to be under 5/24 to get approved for Chase business cards. So I could get a Chase Ink card at 4/24 and stay at 4/24, but I could not get approved for that same card if I was at 5/24
@@Daniel_Braun Thank you! so if I need more business cards, get them first. Got it!
Green Amex Card: *punching air*
Lol it's an OK card in my opinion, just doesn't work too great for me right now. I might make a video talking about the green card eventually
is it possible to combine chase and amex points via transfer partners to one account? If so, do you know which airline will allow this?
What you think Hilton vs the Marriott card
Both Hilton and Marriott have some decent cards, so it all depends on what properties you typically like to stay at!
Aren't flights and hotels booked through these portals more expensive then other sites like expedia...so are these travel cards really worth it?
What happened to Venture X ? With all that hype, It didn’t even make t16 lol
I would LOVE the Amex gold if my grocery store wasn’t Walmart lol
How do you keep track 😂
@@Daniel_Braun Good to know. Thank you and keep up the good work!
Wow. No venture x or savor one on that list ?
i’m 18 and my first ever credit card was the chase freedom flex and i have had it for about 8 months now and i’m at a 725 credit score but i’m wondering if i should get a new credit card soon and if i do what would be a good choice for me to try to go for ? i’m super good at budgeting and know how to actually spend money compared to others around my age too. if anyone can help me in what i should go for next that would be amazing and i would appreciate any help! i was thinking about the amex gold but i don’t know if i would even get approved or not? i have a good income and have been working for a long time now. any thoughts ?
What about the Wells Fargo Autograph?
For "auto rental collision damage waiver" BILT has a max coverage of $50,000.00. Anyone know the max coverage for the chase sapphire preferred?
Why is Amex good if a lot of places don’t accept it
Hi, does anyone have a referral link for AMEX platinum & gold bonus offer ?
