I've been doing my own euros for years now, and this is by far the best method that I've come across!
Now, I re-watch this video every year before I get started on a mount. You do such a great job of presenting the information!
I just finished up my 2019 Whitetail, and it looks amazing!

You inspired me to clean my first skull. I now have the skull of a cat that was a part of the lives of my entire neighborhood. Our name for him was Target, an orange cat with white patches on his side in the shape of a shooting target. Thanks to your guidance he has now been immortalized, his skull on the way to be painted by the community he was closest to. Thank you for what you do.

Followed every step, and had a wonderful result. Went to Sally's Beauty Supply to pick up the 40 volume developer, the lady behind the counter knew exactly what i was doing and helped me out. Start to finish about 3 hrs all in to skin, boil, wash, reboil, and bleach. Mop and Glo looks great on the bone. Thank you for all the pointers, fantastic video series. I did get some bleaching of the horns above the masking of the base, assuming its due to the steam rising above the taped area. will either wrap the whole horn next time or use a squirt/spray bottle to rinse with water during the bleaching process.

So glad I found this RUclips channel. Thank you so much for doing this. I must have watched this video a thousand times this week.
I have not been a deer hunter long. Grew up saltwater fishing here in south Louisiana.
This was my second buck. My first I shoulder mounted 2 years ago. That is very expensive. I had to do it because it was my first. This season I wanted to do a skull mount because of price. Then I started doing research and found you. The tips and tricks you gave built my confidence up. So I gave it a go this week. I did slightly over boil and cause some minor etching to the skull. It was my first time doing a euro and all in all it came out great. Thank you agin for sharing.

Hey Ryan! Awesome video. Learned a ton. I have been using the instructions from your video and have a couple questions
    1. When you boil the whitetail head in oxi clean, do you need to wrap the antlers? Will they discolor or is that only the case during the h202 step? Approximately how long do you have to boil during this oxiclean stage?
    2. Is it okay to soak the whitetail head in odorban after I have already done the peroxide boil?
    Thank you!!!!
    Jeremy .

Absolutely love your videos. Thank you for sharing. I like to do euro's myself, on a smaller scale. I have a couple questions for you. I have trouble getting my hands on 40 volume clear developer, but I have no problem no getting 20 volume clear developer. Will 20 volume work for boiling if I don't dilute it quite as much? Also, I can get 40 volume creme developer, so, could a guy dilute the creme developer in water for boiling? I'm sure in time I'll be asking more questions! Ha! Again, thank you so much for making and sharing such great videos. Much appreciated.

    • @termite122
      @termite122 5 лет назад

absolutely...the lower jaw falls off while boiling..once the cleaning is all done and there dry you simply line up the jaw where it would be when the animal was alive and make a pencil mark at the very end of the lower jaw which is like a rounded tab which is basically rite under the eye socket..then a very small drill bit and drill thru the lower jae and rite into the main skull..then a small stainless steel sheet metal screw on each side and your done..to me none of these skull mounts look good without the lower jaw attached..it just looks a million times better with the lower jaw..

Thank you so much for this. I'm doing my first taxidermy project ever, I'm learning all I can before I get going--which I'm gathering and kind of guessed obviously needs doing quickly. My ultimate goal is not a precious end result, skeleton and maybe a skin. There are so many good things you've gone over that will be so helpful, I can already tell. I'm so glad I found your channel.

Excellent tutorial. I have always left the nasal parts in and luckily they are still white after several years. I also never removed the ear buds...thanks for showing me how to do it right!

This is the best video I've watched on this. I did my first whitetail skull this week with some of the products you suggested it turned out great. Thanks for the great video and keep them coming.

Great variety of instructional videos, easy to follow , plain and effective. I am in Australia and euro skull mounts are becoming more popular here and youre videos certainly help promote them. Keep up the great work Ryan.

Great work on detailing what to do, how and why to do it. Great editing as well. I enjoyed the high speed work and the voice overs.
