    CorrosionX is used heavily in the aviation community. One of its uses is inside wings and other difficult to reach places as a rust inhibitor. I’ve been using CorrosionX on my aircraft since I bought it in 1995. Good stuff.

    Thanks for your thoughtful review of CorrosionX! One point of clarification: The reviewer accidentally misspoke when reading the statements on the CorrosionX for Guns label. CorrosionX DOES NOT contain Teflon®, however, as a lubricant it outperforms products that are fortified with PTFE.

    • @TylrVncnt
      @TylrVncnt 3 года назад

      Thanks for the clarification! What *is* the lubricant you guys use that beats PTFE/Teflon?! Incredible, and I’m extremely interested!
      Cheers

    Corrosion X is good for electronics, learned about this from RC cars and boats where people dip motor controllers in the sauce and after swamping the electronics with water it doesn't damage the circuits.

    A word of caution. I purchased a case of CorrosionX some 15 years ago, directly from CorrosionX. I sprayed a can of CorrosionX on a number of my Snap-On hand tools. No metal parts corroded. However, the old-style "plastic" square handles were rendered to dust or granules, some developed large cracks; destroying the tools. This happened on, not only screwdrivers, but, also on: specialty hand tools, awls, pry bars, hammers and ratchet wrenches. I know Snap-On has changed the formula on their "plastic" handles over the years. But, whatever solvent or chemical CorrosionX used in their product, it is death for some forms plastics. I have 11 unused cans of CorrosionX available for sale, cheap.

    My son dropped one of my favorite rod n reels in salt water and I did not rinse it to good! Well about six weeks later it was froze up! I tried reel magic WD40 and PB Blaster to no avail! We started using Corrosion X where I work on heavy equipment so I tried it!! Took the reel apart sprayed it down once and put it back together!!! My son was 15 now he’s 26 and the reel works like new!!!

    He's built too. Thick and man made. You can tell he's sculpted because you can see it thru the shirt. His vice grip thighs. Suffocating thighs. Rock hard thighs. Piping hot thighs. Great arms. Great abs. A stocky chest. Love the progress his body has made throughout his youth and now as a willing eager adult

    Looks good. One issue that people may have is whether it is safe for knife blades used for food preparation, which I am sure is is not. It seems food safe rust inhibitors are much less effective in preventing rust.

    It is all the same stuff , just in bottles labeled for pacific uses for consumer sales except the Heavy Duty which is much thicker but last and last .I have used this product for over twenty years on guns , machines , electrical connections , battery connections , when batteries go bad in electronic devices, as a penetrating oil . I could go on and on . I guess I should say I use it on everything .You may ask how do I know it is the same stuff just different bottles , called them and ask . Great bunch of people and glad to talk to you about your needs . Give it a try, I can not believe you will not also be satisfied customer . If there is a better product out there I have not found it .

    I alternate between this and CLP. Corrosion X does stop rust. Used it on a blade that was rusting, and this stuff turned it black and stopped it from rusting more.
    For long term storage though, still doesn't work well, need grease for that.

    I use corrosion x on my boat and it does a great job in saltwater. Gotta reapply every month or so just because saltwater will win eventually but it does great.

    Interesting test on the plate of truth. I've used Ballistol & Corrosion X for about 4 years on handguns, rifles, shotguns, & knives. Even used Corrosion X on some tailgate parts on my truck which held up very well to any corrosion. Both the Ballistol & Corrosion X have worked well but I believe for corrosion protection I would give a slight nod to Corrosion X. I believe it has a slightly heavier protection base that I favor for continous outdoor use.

    So I have to ask.....is this “real world”? Who leaves that heavy of a mil thickness like that for their firearm? Maybe...maybe...for extreme long term storage, but I would think most anything put on that thick would “prevent” rust

    LOL! I guess bugs don't like the smell of Ballistol either!
    I saw CorrosionX on the shelf at my LGS years ago and decided to give it a try. I do have leftover Break Free CLP, but I've been using CorrosionX ever since getting it. Easy as CLP (don't need to heat it or go through an entire regimen just to use it), it's a better rust inhibitor AND it's not overpriced.

    It just shows it is able to protect under the roof. But without the roof it may be useless. Please repeat the test under the open sky for 3-6 months with minimum 300mm of rain in that timeframe. Just wonder will it work or not after the rain. Under the roof I think even sunflower oil will work same way.

    Both very good products been using Balstrol for some time. Just got a can of Corrosionx and it seems to leave a very fine film even after wiping and probably after washing with soap as I just did.
    I live in Georgia very high humidity and have a taig lathe that's been rusting throughout the years. I've thought of even coating the parts with some Electro galvanisation. This stuff might actually be the ticket so glad I found it X. very glad I caught your video too. I like both these products very good quality stuff it seems. Corrosionx almost feels like a fine silicone coating. Whereas Bolsrol feels like you could wipe it pretty much all off. Also corrosionx is a bit pricey but for fine machinery I think it'd be worth it. Thanks for the video. So tired of watching my tools rust!

    CORROSION X is used to eliminate moisture where there is not supposed to be. it uses a catalyst to dissolve water When you use at the rain , well this is not how this tool works. I bought a bottle for my on going build aircraft and never used it because I will first paint zinc chromate. I am not sure if it have future for my aircraft because corrosion is strong and I am afraid for the zinc to pop off. What do you guys think? I haven't applied zinc at all yet because I am still putting clecos in and out. All I know is I have to mix it 50/50% with aceton. and apply a thin coat. But how much use corrosion x I need after all??

    Please do a test on the bowing product T 9 vs CorrosionX my local boat dealer told me it was better then CorrosionX and i did buy some because i wanted what was best. I am not sure it it actually is better though thank you! if ya cant its all good but i love the test you did.

    • @JDHill-ng4nd
      @JDHill-ng4nd 3 года назад

      Boeshield T9 and CorrosionX (which is an ultra-thin film) are different kinds of products. Interestingly, CorrosionX has a Boeing part number, whereas Boeshield does not. But if you are looking for a thicker film product that is not primarily a lubricant, then compare T9 to CorrosionX Heavy Duty.

    All commercial products are too expensive. I'm sticking with Ed's Red, syn motor oil and Hi Temp Wheel Bearing Grease. I keep a bit of either Hoppes 9 or Butch's Bore Shine for when I don't have time to let Ed's Red work overnight and use Windex for Copper Cleaner for the rare occasions I feel need to strip copper from my bore. I find leaving copper in to be more accurate than taking it out - most of the time. But, I'm not a professional nor competitive shooter nor Gunsmith nor anything but an old soldier that started squirrel and rabbit hunting at age 7 and been shooting and handling small arms ever since. So, I wouldn't pay any attention to anything I have to say if I were you.

    Hello my friend I have a quick question about this product can you spray it on high heat surfaces such as exhaust headers?

  • @CalculusVariations99
    @CalculusVariations99 2 года назад

    I mostly use my oils for guns, and, between cleanings, they all work fine, even the oldest most basic of generic "gun oil" from Hoppes or Shooters. Even motor oil would work fine.
    The only thing I've ever seen fail massively as a lube and rust inhibitor for anything is WD-40, which I think is a decent cleaner, but terrible for lube and protection for most applications, and I don't know why the stuff is so popular, when it's so terrible.
