The main problem Buvey is that club tribalism transcends the support of the national team. You have folks who rather than give a fair criticism, prefer to run a narrative against a player from the rival club.
As a non prem watcher they’re all weird and we won’t ever win sht because someone from barking is a die hard city fan ( go figure) and someone from Clayton is a united fan, and there’s too much bickering amongst fans for a good atmosphere.

One of the biggest issues for me in the last two games was just how absolutely knackered all our players looked. You watch Spain or Portugal gliding round the pitch, looking fresh as a daisy and full of energy and meanwhile England look like they’ve just run a 10k marathon barely five minutes into the Denmark game.
Looks like you might go in the quarter final. The salvation could be if Foden, Bellingham, Saka gets some worldies and confidence. Or he finally gives Gordon and Palmer minutes and they inject some energy. Kane worries me. He looks sluggish.

You can become third in the group. That would be humiliating. Yes, there should be expectations to England. Still in my mind now as a team you are slightly behind the top four favorites. You have some great individuals. It's time for a different manager.
Couldn't agree with you more my man. Some of these players like Mainoo and Palmer and put their clubs on their back last season and they don't get any game time. England is so talented that we don't "need" to put Trent in the midfield the same way Austria used to play Alaba in the midfield. Bellingham next to Rice in the box to box role, Foden in front of them, Palmer on the wing with Saka... that is a team I would fear.

People are living in an age where they think of a starting line up as players in positions. It's players in roles that matter. The role we need to get us ticking is someone to have 100+ touches dropping in and taking it from the CB's... turning on it, keeping it in tight spaces, being press resistant and get us moving. Mainoo is the profile that fits that best... not Rice... not Jude even... France seem to always be there or there abouts and drop Camavinga and Tchouameni to find profiles that fit their approach. It's time we sacrifice overall player quality for profiles that fit and tactical cohesion. If it means EPL player of the year is benched so be it. I am Kane's biggest fan, I'd drop him for Watkins given it's clear we aren't going to have tons of runners going beyond the forward, so play the player that fits the bill.

Tbh I have been pretty negative on England so far in this tournament. And if you go further back to the tournament, we lost 1-0 to Iceland and lost 2-0 to Brazil of you go further back. But I don't think its fair to compare this to 2010 and 2012 etc.... this team is far younger than that team was and the wheels were starting to fall off in 2010. Most of these players in our current squad still have a lot of good years left in them at international level. This feels more like 2002 to me than 2010. Incompetent manager managing a very talented team with some impressive youngsters coming through. We were bang average in the pool stage of that world cup finishing behind Sweden in 2nd place (if i remember correctly). We have an impressive 3-1 victory against Denmark in the round of 16 before coming up short against the eventual world champs Brazil. I can see that happening in this tournament (probably against France).

We went a goal down in that match but never panicked and were by far the better side, with Bellingham absolutely bossing the game and even Rashford scoring a belter. But then having already qualified, our performance level in the final two qualifiers against Malta and North Macedonia dropped _waaay_ off and it hasn’t recovered since.

Saka hasn't been great,he was lucky with the deflected cross for Bellingham to score.That's it.Bowen played better.but i'd play Palmer and Gordon
