im a Drake and Kendrick fan and can recite entire albums of theirs respectively. i just don’t understand why y’all frame it as if ppl are Kendrick “stans” for enumerating the precise reasons why Kendrick won the battle. It was a rhetorical battle and Kendrick used his words the best to win. The music was better it’s not complicated in my eyes. (Granted there are the weirdos who gripe on the pdf file angle a little too hard lol)
Personally I said Kendrick won on strategy and better song with not like us but I don't think he wins on words only I think it's cool to read extra deep into Kendricks lyrics because the public narrative is he's deep and dismiss drakes bars because he's shallow.
I'm only pointing out the Ls I think they both took out of this battle
@@DumbitDwn i agree. that’s not to say he won off words alone. he just won a rap battle. words are a foundational component to his success. being balanced is calling it for what it is
@AdrenolinFlux well that's the problem with this battle, imo I think the words are less important than they should be. If we're talking, Bars Drake had a lot of funny bars that would have landed on anyone else, but nobody care cuz its Kendrick. Kendrick had several good bars too but now there are questions about if they are original or nothing. If we looked at the words alone this battle was closer than ppl are saying it is. That's why I'm talking about the bias
@@DumbitDwn on bias: the thing is Drake has had a heavy hand in shaping the current hiphop landscape which is now backfiring. By definition he must be responsible since he’s at the top. Also Drake has routinely been rapping at a lower level than Kendrick for the vast majority of his career while over using reference tracks. Example: can’t even out rap Cole on his own album. Every diss record lacks focus on his opponent. This isn’t too far off from how he lost to Push. Lack of foresight.
I feel like there is a reason that these rap beefs don't usually go this many songs deep...once fans pick a side its very hard to get them to switch up. Drake needs to understand that and realize that getting him being made fun of out of the news cycle is most important. He just let himself get down too far. Drake held his own but Kendrick had the better strategy.

This was more of a tea battle than a rap battle. There’s still no receipts from both sides smh which invalidates a lot of what was said from both sides.
Seems like Drake or his fans trying to put receipts out on stuff like that okliar website. I doubt that will help, and if he's doing it directly it looks like sour grapes.

The fake activist part and problematic colorism are not tea. Drake said some valid things.
