Another Taylor reaction?! Two in 1 day is a treat! This one is about Kanye! Kanye and Kim k edited a phone call saying that Taylor agreed to some lyrics from Kanye that she didn’t. He sang that he made “that bitch” famous. All this after he interrupted her speech when she won her first VMAs. Songs like this have so much lore. The tilted stage was a direct comment on Kanye’s tilted stage set for his tour. Also Kim k called Taylor a snake and people used it against Taylor. Taylor stole the snake and themed this album based on the snake motif.

She’s talking about Kanye’s tilted stage at his concert.
This song was in reference to the Kanye incident where he wrote the song famous and claimed that Taylor had given permission to use the line “ I made that bitch famous”. When in fact she did not.
This was the time in her career where Kanye and Kim had leaked an edited version of their phone call and convinced the public that she was lying. She was getting so much hate.
She ended up disappearing from the media for a while and cut ties from a lot of people because she didn’t know who she could trust. She moved to a different country and was living in a rental home. This song is basically saying that the old Taylor that they knew is over and that she’s back now and isn’t gonna just be pushed around so easily again.

Swiftys are smart af. This is about Kanye and Kim coming at her. Kim took a phone conversation she illegally recorded, and edited it to make it sound like she gave permission to add vulgar lyrics about her in some trash rap he put out. Kanye got up and interrupted Taylor accepting an award, took her mic away, and said Beyonce should have gotten the award. Humiliated her on national television. Kim and Kanye started a rumor and harassment campaign against her. She was very young and devastated, and disappeared for almost a year when this happened.. And when she came back, she came back like a Phoenix rising from the fire with scorched earth new music directed at all the haters. She took the hate and spun it into gold. And that was the beginning of the end for Kim and Kanye. More recently the evidence of the doctored audio take of the phone call reemerged, with proof that it had been illegally edited. And now Kim could/should face charges for what she did. Do not f*ck with Taylor - or she will crush you. Justified.

But yeah, this song is another leaning into all the crap media and Kim+Kanye were throwing at here at the time, cancelling her with false accusations. This album was her comeback after a year of silence, this song being the first she released saying “no explanation, just reputation.” She turned being called a “snake” into her mascot as she leaned into the reputation they gave her, defied those “you can’t dance” claims, etc. 👏
I think this is more aimed at Kanye and Kim. Tilted stage is definitely referring to Kanye’s tilted stage that he performed on. The snake is referring to Kim calling Taylor a snake, then Kanye and Kim both lied about her. Look what you made me do refers to her writing the Reputation album in response to how they treated her. They called her a snake so she was basically mocking all the BS they said about her.
