I've only just started carrying GI Joe, and I'm watching the unboxing videos and noticing that many of the weapons tend to be a battleship gray, and don't look metallic. I guess the customizers and kit bashers have a solution to this by spraying or painting them. I'll have to figure that out ^^ Great review mate! So far I've only opened Rock n Roll and Big Ben, and love both of them!!!
Those two are stellar in their own right. Glad u have a new drug 😜 one big issue with the line has been the weapons since day 1, either too Nerf-like or too plain and soft gummy cheap plastic. u can look up Valaverse action force weapon packs. Those are solid and cost effective weapon bundle options.
Very thorough review! I really like this figure. I have him on pre-order, so when arrives, I'm going to hit the torso with a clear matte finish, and I'm going to paint some black splotch shapes to make his pants look a bit more camouflage. Should give the figure a little more pop. Using the gas mask head, this figure could easily be used as a character for the Marvel Legends line.
They may have wanted the weapons to be distinctive by version, so his normal deco version might come with black or darker grey weapons. I think this one with a gas mask might make a pretty decent generic SAS soldier with the eventual normal Big Ben as the leader as the main difference between this Night Force Deco and the normal one is quite slight and is mostly the colour of his trousers. I'd love to buy him, if he had remained in stock for longer than an hour the 2 times he was up on Hasbro Pulse UK
Great review. One detail moving forward, they are light, not heavy machine guns. The only heavy machine guns in the line are obviously Roadblocks minigun and the new M2 .50cal that comes with the 60th anniversary soldier. Which for the record, is the gun that the 85 Roadblock had originally. Also this is minor, but technically they are called suppressors, not silencers (they are often interchanged but if you watch the Dec 7th reveal, Lenny only calls them suppressors (likely because he was told the same thing by numerous folks). Lastly, not sure if you even mention this, but all the weapons have magazines, not clips. Clips are a thing, it were only used on weapons prior to the 1950’s. Thanks again, keep up the good work
@@xcorpeo I acknowledge, I’m coming across as a tool. I like using proper nomenclature. GPMG and light vs heavy. I’m personally indifferent, and have no skin in the game, call them whatever you want, but historically and tactically, they are either light or heavy. But there are differences how they are deployed logistically. In the end do you, but I enjoy learning things I don’t know or am inaccurate on
It may seem a bit strange having opposite articulation on the wrists but I find it is actually pretty good for posing them with a rifle the palm up and down is good for the support hand especially too for holding a shotgun or LMG. It seems to elimiate odd angles being like that. They really need to do something about the gummy weapons just because they have them on Star Wars and Marvel Figures doesn't mean they need to apply them across all their lines.
I don't think gummy weapons is a good feature! 😂 Yes the varied wrist hinge does allow for better rifle holding sometimes, but I think the wrist articulation could be solved if they could improve the wrists to universal ball joints like import figures
As someone who likes designs with Gas Masks (ie Hunk from resident evil), I’m glad some of these night force figures will be getting them.

That's some great ideas! Now I'm tempted to spray a clear matte coat on his torso 😉
Man they really dropped the ball on his weapons, they should of just used black plastic

Would you recommend getting 2 or 3?
Sure if it goes to clearance. Could be great for customs

Ah yes technical terms. Not my forte. I've handled a GPMG before - I'm pretty sure it's not classified as heavy. Very informative, thanks
