The craziest part about her growls live is she does them different every time. And sometimes she pulls something utterly awesome out that she never does again, like at the end of this Perennial performance where she adds a bit of evil to the words "...rise to live again." I've watched quite a few bootlegs and I've never seen her do that in any other performance. And in the Gas Monkey video of Roll Over Sit Stay she does a really cool scoop while growling, starting out at medium growl, dipping down to medium-low, then back up to medium-high in a single breath as she says the word "stay" and I've never seen her do that in any other video either.
They have definitely evolved over time. Sometimes the same song has evolved. They re-composed Who Is Gonna Be The One after their second guitarist left so that Roman and Eugene could play it without the second guitar, slowing it down and making it heavier and more threatening.
Their best headbanging song is Judgement & Punishment.
If you ever want to watch a couple of raw bootlegs, whether as a reaction or just for fun, two good ones (one really old and one brand new) are the performance of their cover of Lamb Of God's Laid To Rest uploaded by NosSam in 2012 that has the title all in Russian (it was never officially released and that one has by far the best sound) and Pit Of Consciousness in Berlin uploaded by George M uploaded in November of last year. The gods and demons of distortion smiled on that last one, none of the other bootlegs he uploaded from that concert are as clear as that one. I feel like I need therapy just listening to it haha (the song is primarily about Tatiana's mental health struggles, though the statement by the band says it could apply to any of them because they are supportive like that, awww.) You really should do the official video for Pit Of Consciousness first because it is a great video. That said, Eugene the bassist and manager says Tatiana largely improvised her performances in the recordings for Macro (her description is more blunt "I wasn't prepared" haha), and she's gotten better at singing the songs for maximum impact since recording the album.
p.s. oh crap, I'm doing that thing again... hahaha
Lol JEFFF coming in clutch with that NOVEL 🖤🤘 LOVE IT BUDDY! haha thank you so much for that. I can always count on you for Jinjer facts 👌
This post was awesome, thank you. I thought I knew alot about Jinjer but this is gold! Have a nice day sir!
@@Berglundish this guy is the Wikipedia of Jinjer 😂🤘
Yes Jeffrey you did that thing again but always appreciated 😅 I would love if they covered Lamb of God again but with only Roman on guitar now it wouldn't sound correct unless they over layed it.
@@anthonyforshay4159 I agree it would be cool. They've said the only time they feel it's appropriate to do covers is when a band is starting out though.
There you go champ. Gotta do Who Is Gonna Be The One (Live) next. )))
hell yes! This. I was standing by a stack of speakers the first time I saw them in concert and her growls shook my whole body down to my bones during this song. You'll know what part I'm talking about when you see it.
Oh shit. I see the liked comments building up for another song suggestion!
This live version...best quality! (The stuff from resurrection fest)
Now you’ve seen the live version; you have to react to the music video for Perennial! The recorded version is just PERFECTION.
Haha that's what I hear
Do the "lyrics" version for your buddy's sake, Haha!
@@ultslipknot lmao that what we should be doing when we're doing these hahaha
Much better for sure!! But the live version exemplifies her ability is true and not done in post prediction at the studio!
If you want one of those “different” Jinjer songs, you should definitely check out “Ape”! It slaps you right in the face and doesn’t let you breathe for 3 minutes. It really shows off Vlad and Eugene’s amazing drum and bass skills.
Haha "doesn't let you breathe for 3 mins" ohhhhh boy! Let's suffocate 🤘😂 can't wait to hear it
I love Perennial so much.
Such a great song
Your boy was a total buzzkill. This is my 3rd or 4th reaction of yours that I have watched and you usually enjoy yourself. Don’t invite him over anymore. He has no clue how difficult it is to do what Tatiana does. She has an amazing voice and amazing breath control. At the end of the song, she sounds out of breath when she is saying goodbye and Thank you. You did not hear or see any of that while she was performing. To be able to switch so effortlessly between extreme vocals and singing is crazy hard. If he wants to understand the lyrics, have him go listen to nursery rhymes.
I really don’t understand why everyone is complaining “Uf, I don’t like it cuz I don’t understand what is she saying”. That’s the point. When you are frustrated and scream at someone I doubt that they understand you clearly. And that is the beauty of metal. You have to pay attention and really dive into the song and band to understand them. Great reaction 🤘😉
Lol! I never thought of it that way 😂 and thanks! Had a lot of fun in this one
If/when you dive into slamming deathcore when you really don’t understand shit and you check the lyrics, usually then you understand the choice of the vocal style. And that is one of my favourite things about metal 😃
I honestly don't understand when people try to catch lyrics on the first listen, there is so much stuff to pay attention to
Add into the mix that she's singing in what is - for her - a second language (she's Ukrainian). That's no small accomplishment, either.
Funny. Do we ever understand anyone? Most growled misunderstood lyrics are some of the most thought provoking deep meaningful soul touching ones. Like growling can be good or bad and singing can be evil.
Cloud Factory was one of the first few songs I heard by them, and it was the one where I knew I had to delve into their discography.
Great reactions as always!
1.1K subs and climbing! Epico!
Thanks buds! Glad you got a chance to check this one out 👌 super fun video and a big special thanks to Jesse for joining us for this video and making it that much better 🤘
Gotta love when a song is impactful enough it makes you want to delve into their discography! What are your thoughts on them after really getting into them? I’m almost at the point to check out more stuff but I mainly listen to rap, hip-hop so this is wayyyy out of my zone 😂
@@OhrionReacts Thank YOU for the awesome reaction videos. They're really entertaining and I just have to click on your videos. Jesse seems like a cool dude. It's good that you had him as a guest.
@@jessehayes6812 By reading your comment, it's way more impactful on you since you're new to metal! I mainly listen to metalcore, electronic rock, alternative rock...basically rock/metal. It's been like that for 6 years, maybe. So Jinjer was in a way just another metal band although it was that uniqueness of Jinjer that attracted me. I heard Pisces through Alex Hefner's reaction video, and then a few more songs.
When I heard Cloud Factory, I just knew I had to jam to their albums. I immediately decided to check out the Cloud Factory album, then King Of Everything....and now here I am obsessed with their reaction videos.
Since metal is out of your zone, some songs will probably feel weird to listen to cause of lots of screaming. Try having a "hip-hop mentality" when listening i.e. listen to the beats (instrumentals), jam to them, and then you'll get used to the vocals eventually.
Jinjer is a good introduction band though. The first true metal song I heard was Black Damask (the fog) by Motionless In White! You probably don't know it but it's very fast paced and heavy, much heavier than most Jinjer songs anyway.
Oh yeah, my thoughts. It's been about 5 months since I first heard them and they're in my top 5 all-time favourite bands. Considering I was a metalhead before hearing Jinjer, that says a lot!
@@aamiw99 haha thanks man! We had a blast - he's also lives with me (room mate) he's definitely a brother to me. Thank you for the kind words. It means so much
If you want to hear her "growl", listen to the song "home back". That has some of the deepest growl i've ever heard.
Haha nice! I need to check that out
ahh yes, near the outro the whole "home is not a..." part
Damn, we should remember more often how a fucking amazing drummer Mantulin was.
One correction, Jesse: screaming, as in a vocal technique, isn't high pitched only. Both screaming techniques, Fry Screaming and False Cord Screaming, can be performed in high, mid and low pitches. Just because it's low doesn't mean it's not a scream. ; )
He is quite the drummer haha.
I had no idea!! I’ll have to checkout what those different techniques sound like. I come from mainly rap/hip-hop so I’m wayyy out in left field with this music. Thanks for adding value and knowledge! 🤟🏼
@@jessehayes6812 - Tatiana is self-taught. Here's her explaining what she does: www.blabbermouth.net/news/jinjers-tatiana-shmailyuk-is-not-interested-in-becoming-a-vocal-coach-i-have-no-energy-and-i-have-no-patience/.
I used to indicate Mary Z's video about Tatiana's technique as a reference point but for some reason she removed it from her channel. Maybe it was because Tatiana finally revealed that she doesn't use any of the techniques but instead developed one of her own. : )
As a drummer I can testify to how bloody difficult this song is to play
@Module79L, that’s amazing, I can’t believe she taught herself like that! Thanks for the link, I’m starting to realize all the hype around her!! Keep on rockin’!!
Probably has been said but: Jinjer is the band. "Her" name is Tatiana. Give the band their dues.😉 Thanks for the reaction.
Oh I know this! Haha my wording must have been off in a spot. 👌😂 WoRdZ iS hArD.

Unreal right?!
Very.. It really blew my mind
@@salinamillsaps8009 haha I had the same reaction to Pisces - unreal (I have my reaction up as well)
😮 I'm about to go check it out!!
Tatiana was my WCW for 2019 and she will be for the next decade LOL. She's a beast and I love how deep the Jinjer rabbithole goes. Never a song that sounds like the last one! XD
The terminology Jinjer uses is “extreme vocals”.
Haha even better 😂🤘
@Ohrion Reacts He won't believe in the voice until he sees it in concert. If possible, be sure to take him to a live concert.
They are really cool. Genuinly cool people and awesome musicians.
haha one of you is shaking your head and one of you is bobbing your head, interesting combination I don't ever see in reaction videos
Lmao. He listens to rap. I listen to metal 🤘 it's gonna happen. He's open to check other things out tho 🤘
Visualize Perfection I was shaking my head in disbelief of the sound coming from her mouth lol! It may not be my jam, but hell, can she belt out some growls!!
your dude Jesse should take its time for Jinjer, because the band is an absolutely talented band > a genre of his own
greetings from germany
Haha he should
Vielen Dank hendrix131313!!! I’m definitely checking out their other stuff! Very versatile band! I really like bad water!!... being from Germany, do you know the album skills in pills by Lindemann, should I introduce him to Ohrion?! :p
I'm from germany, but I don't like skills in pills by Lindemann, also I don't like Rammstein and so.............they are truly good musicians, but..............
Music was a medium for me to get in touch with my soul, and that's one of the reasons why I loved Jinjer........
maybe you can do a song by Spiritbox - Rule Of Nines (Official Music Video)?

I’m not a big fan of lindemann, I have a buddy who loves him who is also German....I think his lyrics are..... well... not my style... I’ll check them out if I can’t make a reaction video in the next few weeks!! Thanks for the suggestions man!!
This band's versatility is pretty amazing, 'Bad Water' is a good one to listen to.
I'll have tho check it out! Thanks 🤘🔥
If thats the one thats just singing and no growls its my favourite from them. Ive listened to so many suggestions I cant keep the names straight! Aha
My man on the left is in love.
A bit of trivia... The drummer in the "Cloud Factory" video left the band rather abruptly when he fell out of a second story window... Check out their song "Exposed as a Liar" there is also a song "Black Water", I believe, where it's just all singing, no growl
Whaooo
Dude congrats on the 1K subs. Caught Jinjer in Seattle last October, fricken amazing. Check out “ Who’s gonna be the one” live plz.
Thanks!!! That's wicked man. I wanna see every band I first listen to lol
Yessss 1k! Thats so cool man! Killin it! Vids are so good!
Thanks man! This is too fun. I appreciate your feedback on how to improve too. Gotta get that Colab soon 👌😏
Jesse its the first time you're hearing the song of an band you never heard before. You're not going to pick up everything on your first listen and most people who hear Jinjer for the first time, don't always know what Tatiana is saying. I think a better introduction song should've been Pisces (live session) and a second song should've been Teacher Teacher.
Yeah. The same way I listened. Thanks for going easy on him. He had a blast - I also show him those songs right after 🤘 sper of the moment idea 🤷🏻♂️ thanks for watching Ami :)
That’s the vocals I was wanting to hear from her mouth!! (Pisces) I love the band and would listen to an instrumental any day but I still can’t get into the “growl”, I can appreciate the talent but it’s not my cup of tea, just sounds too angry lol 😂 maybe I need to delve into the lyrics.
Just for a different flavor of Jinjer, I want to recommend Beggars Dance. The first and last track on their King of Everything album are the same song done in different styles, with the lyrics being pulled from all of the other songs on the album. Beggars Dance is a really jazzy song with no growls and some funky-ass bass that I personally really enjoy.
The video for Cloud Factory was made before they recorded the album. In between the two, they beefed up the drums in the intro quite a bit, which has the effect of making that riff seem less repetitive. Worth checking out on your own.
Definitely worth it! And glad to know!!! Haha thanks for watching and listening to me ramble 😂 I'll have to check that out
that's also at the END of the show when vocal fatigue is at its peak. all that screaming from her whole setlist and she still nails the last song
Just by the way you talked about them, you need to hear Home Back. That song has some *savage* “growls”
It’s from the newest album, Macro (October 2019). I’d almost always recommend listening to studio Jinjer songs before watching live versions.
Teacher, Teacher and Perennial are from the EP Micro, released shortly before Macro. Cloud Factory is from a 2014 album with the same name. Jinjer changed drummers and guitarists in 2015, and it’s worth noting that because there was a noticeable shift in the complexity of their instrumentation in the next album, King of Everything (2016) which carried to Micro and Macro. The vocalist, Tatiana Shmaylyuk has pretty much always had superb screams though. Entirely self taught, no less.
I don’t want to over sell them, but they are pretty damn good, especially as of late and live
Lmao I don't think you can oversell them. They're amazing. Can't wait to dig into more
“Teacher teacher” and “who is going to be the one” are sweet. I tend to like the newer stuff. Although Outlander was nice too. Crap they are just really cool 😎
I love how she transitions from one vocal to the next.
It's unreal man
Jinjer! 🤘🏻

Just when I think Jinjer reactions couldn't get any better someone has to go and peel another one off like this. Subbed, man.
Since Jesse doesn't like the growls he might like Bad water by Jinjer because there are no growls in it. I still suggest Ape and pit of consciousness by Jinjer.
I'll make sure he knows this! Haha thanks for watching :) 🤘

I actually miss that second lead guitar from the Cloud Factory days. It adds a another texture. Still, they're amazing now but I think it would enhance their later stuff.

the look on your friend the whole time -_-
Bros!! Great reaction!!! Jinjer is so wicked good! One of the stunning moments in this performance is it's the last song of their set and she still has the stamina in her growls, and that long-ass note she holds toward the end - holy shit! I also noticed you suffer from the same symptoms of Jinjer-mania most of us do - you get the chills when you hear their music! Dude, some of their shit makes me just plain tear-up. No shit. I will be real havent heard Cloud Factory even though I should have. I like newer Jinjer songs more than the older ones I have heard. Out of all of Micro and Macro, which were released in 2019, there is only one song I dont like very much
There will always be a couple songs we are just not into alllllll good
let me guess, Dreadful Moments?
George Rodionov no. Noah. Dreadful Moments grew on me pretty well and I listen to it quite a bit now
@@TotalxTroll25k , understandable. I just know that a lot of people dislike DM and honestly don't know why. It's a very well written song, the riffs and the vocal delivery match the lyrics. + Vocals change when lyrics change perspective from a child to a pissed narrator, which is pretty interesting if you ask me
ya newer stuff i like the best👍
For a full onslaught you need to check Sit Stay Rollover
Guy on the left got on my nerves don’t down play her talent. She’s way better than a lot of male screamers
You two should do a newer song together. Pit of Consciousness is a lot easier on the ears with the growls and the singing. Awesome video too.
Great reaction but Pisces is always the best intro for this band. 😂
Couldn't agree more
Check out their early stuff such as Outlander live 🤘😃🤘. Arguably their best.
Realllyyy eh?
Really eh?! 😱

It's on the list hahs
You should react to “who’s gonna be the one” . Mind blowing heavy song !
nice man, try outlander next time ;)
Haha yassss more Jinjer!
False chord screams are a lot easier to produce with less physical effort. That said, they're very difficult to master especially when switching between clean vocals and distorted vocals. She's absolutely incredible. Probably at the best around right now
You should react to Leo Morachiolli ( Frog leap studios) doing metal covers of Pop songs, and if you do, you NEED to listen to the outros...especially his covers of Africa and hello
To add some more female fronted metal bands, check out Spiritbox - "rule of nines" or Monochromatic Black "The Herd" both wonderful bands!
You should also listen to saving vice "never now's best" they are a smaller band but still really good
Oh shit eh?! I'll have to look into that! Thanks!

"Judgement (and Punishment)" is unusual (with some actual reggae sections - the lead singer, Tatiana, is a reggae fan) but good.

Lots of good choices. You already did "Teacher, Teacher!" which is one of their best newer ones (with their current lineup - the vocalist, bassist, and lead guitarist have been around for nearly 10 years now, but the drummers and any extra guitarists have changed a bit over that time - current drummer seems to be a good fit and gets lots of praise).
Let your friend react to Teacher teacher once again dude. 🙂🤟
Haha I showed him after doing this video. He got a much better understanding 👌 he listens to a lot of hip hop music too. Which makes this a more better haha
Yeah we gave it a listen after. I like how she opens up with almost an In This Moment sound then she starts to growl. The band is crazy with their constantly changing melodic riffs, totally different feel than the other two songs. I would say teacher teacher is my favourite out of the three!! 🤟🏼
