Next stop heading one way is Hagley where I was born and going the other way it's Kidderminster where I went to grammar school. I know Blakedown and Churchill really well as we used to play around the ponds and streams of Stakenbridge. For ten years I worked just up the road from here and would cycle to work, often getting stopped at the level crossing for a few minutes as a train went racing by-few would stop at Blakedown. This brings back some lovely memories, thanks for posting it.

HAHAHAHA 2:20 I was the project manager when those units were on the District line I know each one intimately! Spending hours in the pit MID WINTER FREEZING under them in the depot fitting brake mods! We had to make them look ‘new’ to fool the public, fitting electronic destination boards new interiors etc. LU could not afford the new stock at that time, so we ‘pulled the wool over their eyes’
😂😂😂 Underneath they were worn out unreliable old rolling stock, but unless you were a train nut they LOOKED ‘NEW’ 👍🏻

Why does everyone hate the poor old District Line Trains? Those trains have been in service for a long time anyway, what do you expect? They are not THAT bad...

No I reckon Siemens Class 700 have won that accolade. 230s are cheap as chips and allows train operators to provide services that otherwise would never happen.

So are there any class 37s 0r 40s still in use? Where I live in north Wales we only have local services and small amount of freight. The only 37 I seen on this line was the network rail test train. I occasionally go down to madeley near crewe on the west coast main line, but have never seen a 37 on that busy line either.

2:39: Heavens, they look sh*t. The Pacer for the 2020s - lets tale the body and chassis of something decades old and attempt to rejuvenate it, give a fresh coat of paint and a new name. Okay Pacers may have been buses, but it's the same mindset. Typical British 'that'll do' attitude.
