More reasons why BASS will always be on top
Haha yup... definitely some more seperation this year
if BASS was so great 60 guys would not have left
@@jimk4267 a lot has changed in 5 years Jim!
@jimk4267 because MLF originally paid the guys entry fees. But that didn't last very long. Also all of the guys sponsored by bass pro or any of their subsidiaries had to go
@@rileyallcorn9782no one HAD to go anywhere
Thanks for the update .
You bet!
Enjoyed meeting you at Harris and wish you would have made it in, thanks again for taking care of Dusty on last day. He got 8th and good check. Already looking forward to next season. Thx again
Good to meet you as well. Your son was an exemplary co-angler!
Thank-you for the breakdown!
Thank you for the comment!
Jamie, great season in the Opens! You are an incredible stick. Looks like you have an interesting graph set up. Like using perspective mode like 360. I would love to have you show your setup. I’m probably going to get a Lund Bass but don’t know the best set up for bow considering factors like mounts and units. Thanks Jamie and congrats on expecting your first child.
Hey Tom - mine is for sale if you're looking.. could sell it with the full set up!
@@jamiebrucefishing …. You got a great setup … I was actually looking at the 1875 Lund. I’m afraid to ask the price of yours…. Anyway what would it be?
I was able to see the bass boat setups for 2024 pro tours...500 HP Mercury, 2 spinning rod/reel combos, 10 bags of weenie worms/craws/shad soft plastics...8 computer screens front to back, Livescope of course, and the floor of the boat is a big screen that works with Livescope so anglers will be able to lay down & catch bass...
Like you said headed in the right direction..
No complaints here
Nice breakdown bud. Looks better for those MLF’ers looking to jump over
Yup - can't wait to see the roster!
Some great changes by BASS and hopefully it’s just the beginning over the next few years. A lot of eyes have been on the Opens this year and it will only increase in the next couple of years I would assume. Brucie bringing the goods the last few podcasts!
I definitely like the direction... Gotta hit Lube Tube hard now since I didn't make it as a pro angler, lol
@@jamiebrucefishing just sweep the northern division and they’ll have no choice but to let you in the Elites! Lol
Finally. It's about time. Now, they need to work on coverage and production quality/value.
I would guess there will be an increase, especially given how the 2024 field could look!
The opens drew a ton of attention this year, if Fox would cover all of them it would be swell. Bassmaster live would also be great all competition days.
Sounds like live coverage at each derby now, would assume day 3, which is a huge step forward
Opens are going to be fire in 2024!!!
I agree!
Is it $2000 entry for all the year or $2000 per event ?
$2000 per event
Come on Jamie looks like another reason to give it another shot.
Haha, they're doing a good job at tempting me back
@@jamiebrucefishingdo it!
You gotta do it jimbo !!!! 2025 is your year !
@@jamiebrucefishing the support for you keeps growing.
I don't know if my truck can handle another 60,000 K season!@@mikecrossman4010
The payout is terrible in most tournaments. One division is a good move. Shot at the Classic without a crazy financial/time commitment.
Yup, looking forward to possibly a little more relaxed year.. but you know how that goes
I am hearing that MLF is in trouble financially
It would appear that way
Counting the money they get from the towns chamber of commerce and sponsors, putting on tournaments appears on the surface to be pretty lucrative. I’d bet they leave town with more than 250k per event.
from what I've heard towns don't really pay as much as you'd think to host events
Yeah who knows, there is a lot of overhead, and every business needs to be making some money. I'm happy to have a platform to fish, and without BASS making coin, that can go away in a heartbeat
I would guess its 6 figures, i think it's usually a pretty good investment for them, especially when there are 450 anglers for a full open. The boys spend it!
And for the last week the Bassmaster pros that have You Tube channels couldn't criticize the MLF enough for it's changes. Lol
Exactly!! The BASS pod caster’s hypocrisy is comical!
Yup.. and we all keep watching and commenting.. that's what feeds it!
You keep watching and commenting, drives up the views, drives more videos on those topics. We're all part of that problem by nature
@Venandii77 difference is, BASS is heading up, like always. MLF is going down, faster than the last few years.
@@gregc2621 ask those guys who fish the opens if they think having to spend min 50k and burn up PTO is “ going up” for BaSs. Guess what? Its not… forcing 9 open requirements to qualify is greed .
BASS is just as guilty
What they are doing is trying to entice the guys leaving B.P.T.. I wouldn’t cut them any slack for leaving B.A.S.S.
I think they are trying to keep the current EQ guys happy and entice everybody to want to fish the Opens.
Adding $200 per angler is $405,000 for the year. Just fishing for your own money. Bass didn’t add any to payout. Unfortunately Every league is not very good right now. But BASS did add live coverage so that is a huge plus!
The calculations were based off money in vs money out , not direct money out from 23 & 24
In 2023 they paid 70% of entries, and the new model pays 74% on entries not counting aoy.
BASS is going to make more money overall as well, given the entry increase, but they could have had the entry increase and used last years model and only paid 70%. It’s not much of an increase at all, but it’s at least pointed in the proper direction which I’m sure you can agree is a positive.
Shoot me an Instagram message, would love to have you jump on the podcast and have a bullshit about it all . Cheers
Jamie
@@jamiebrucefishing yes, like you said, I would pay 200 more per tournament to get that aoy pay out and a double entry fee payback for the last check. Live coverage is huge as well imo. Good luck in whichever path you choose. 👍🏽
B.A.S.S. is watered down. The MLF could afford to get trimmed too. If we don't watch, you don't fish for a living. Too many mediocre pro anglers for the top level. 50 of the best would make each name stand out more. Who doesn't want to fish for a living, but that's not the point.
Very watered down and boring. Bass events haven’t been entertaining in decades
I don't fish for a living. I think watching the same guys for 20 years and not seeing the underdogs and up and commers makes it more boring.. but thats just me
I think some more personalities in the sport could change that.. you're going to see some pretty boring guys the way the qualifications are now, IMO. Someone like Milliken or Kyle Patrick who aren't on the standard route are going to be fun to watch.
NO MORE SONARS
haha!
The bottom line is. Catch quality fish are take your ass home. What's the problem?
Another slam dunk comment by Earnest!
Yessirrr
Wait wait wait....cheater? Huh? Details
Tucker Smith was disqualified from Eufala, AL for a "hole sitting" sportsmanship violation. He finished 7th in the event, and the payout was adjusted to reflect following the disqualification
@jamiebrucefishing ohhhh I had completely forgotten about that incident. There are some people I know quite upset that his old team partner qualified this year. I personally find that ludicrous as Logan didn't make those decisions for Tucker
