African greys are very shy my Billy will never talk to order when strange people are in the room, but talks up a storm when they leave and he does listen intently to conversations. My neighbours looked after him a few times for three weeks, sadly the husband died quite suddenly and when his wife came to see us after his death Billy suddenly started to talk to her in her dead husband’s voice something we had never heard him do before. She instantly burst into tears and was totally shocked as we were. She of course interpreted it as a communication from the dead, I didn’t disagree with her but I thought her presence had just reminded him of that male voice. It really didn’t matter. She was greatly comforted by the experience so in my mind I think he really accomplished something very sweet and worthwhile.
That was definitely worthwhile. Anything that comforts the grieving, even by accident, is a good thing. And who knows maybe somehow her husband's spirit really did prompt your Billy to speak because he was the only way to have the husbands voice replicated at a time the wife was around. 🤔
You most likely made that poor wife beautifully grieve

Giz is really vocal today.It seems like he understood you when you told him about the bad word with G in it.He apologized numerous times.And asked if you doing all right. Not only do they understand your words by association of your words or other stimuli but its been said that they can feel their owners
feelings;they are emotionally in tune and can feel you as well as hear you.
I know you show them so much love and care but the creativeness in me cañ't stop
thinking of things and ways to reward Coz and Giz for the awesome stage performance
they accomplish.Amazing "talkie talkie" day.The dialog and diversity of words:" chirpy
talked". today must be a record performing day.Maybe you could reward him with different types of fruit like exoticslike dragon fruit and or cactus nopals minus the seeds,a sugarcane stalk would be tasty as well as entertaining,coconut flesh,papaya etc.anything that would awaken his tastebuds and provide positive reinforcement to an up and coming intetnet actor.Luckily for everyone who is a part of
this;"supa staa" budding career he doesn't exhibit:"stage fright". I'm sure you buy him toys to reward him for his outstanding perfomances but how's bout getting him some:"jungle home"reminders of his youthful days like purchasing a sample library of cataloged bird:chirps,whistles,blares and other calls that would no doubt amuse and entertain him,as well as educate and expand his vocabulary.That would be a big plus to add to his resume, I could see it now:
"Also fluent in five birdee languages,always a plus in this ever-changing work environment".Also I heard they love things that are colorful and shine.Keep em busy and happy;they'll return in kind.Making them a:" supa staa" makes you a:"super star".I can see it now"Giz'ez and Coz'es feetprints on Hollywood blvd. pavement of:

I cried when I heard what the sweet bird did when grieving wife stopped by and heard his voice through your bird..I recently lost my 2nd child last November after losing my Husband & youngest daughter 💔 😢 I would have LOVED to hear their voice from the sweet precious bird...what a beautiful blessing ❤
Had no idea how smart parrots were. They use words appropriately far too often for it to be an accident. Love how they were checking each other out at the beginning as well.
I like how it seems to be a universal thing for African Greys (whether they're Congo or Timneh) to enjoy making beeping sounds, whistles, clicks, etc.
Everyone of the African grays seems to like imitating the sound of running water - complete with gurgles.
@@pamelalaub6204 Our family parrot Baby, a CAG, makes gurgling noises when the phone rings. My mom has a landline and it announces who or what is calling. Baby mixes the gurgling with speech and it sounds like she's speaking in tongues 😂 It's only when the landline phone rings.
Very cool Grey's. My mom had birds as a young lady. A little before I was born. I always wanted a friendly bird. Cosmo is cool. I relate to her. Both of us lost our mom's the same year. Cosmo super star! 😎👍🏾

I'm so glad that Cosmo is letting most of her feathers grow. She looks great and Gizmo also looks wonderful. He's being a bit quiet today. Boy oh boy, those high pitched whistles would really hurt the ears.

This parrot literally just asked what her name was, then immediately answered when she asked what its name was! I mean, I knew African Greys were smart, but they astonish me.
I think they are sentient.Even though Chimpanzees might look like us I still think that this species of parrot might be more intelligent.

i love when the birds haven't gotten chatty yet and the humans are trying to get them talking, so it's just a feed of two very mature birds while some humans make silly noises in the background lol

This brings back happy memories of my childhood . Mr grandfather kept an African Grey Parrot. They’re the best talkers,it used to call the cat in who would run in thinking it was dinner time. Thank you for the video.

My sister had an African grey & 8 small dogs. The bird, Bongo, knew all the dogs by bark & called them each by name telling them to “hush,” “stop that racket, “ etc. Bongo sounded EXACTLY like my sister & she sounded nasty when disciplining the dogs. She got nasty with the bird & Bongo feared her. When she opened his cage he’d flop to the floor & split his chest open. She’d grab him, angrily & put styptic pencil on the wound which hurt bad. So their relationship spiraled down. He started pulling feathers out.
Eventually she gave him away because, “I can’t stand hearing myself!”
He was by far the smartest parrot I ever knew. He’d make totally appropriate comments when I was in conversation with other people. His cage had been covered for hours when I opened my door to go to bed at midnight. The door was at least 25 feet from his covered cage. “See you in the morning,” he said. (He liked me. I never hurt him or yelled at him.) I hope he’s recovered the trauma he endured & feels safe now.
