Pretty late to the party here but on the topic of the artist credits it is most likely because Dark Horse simply were unable to get enough information to give proper credit to the individual pieces.
Quite often 'officially licensed' does not mean it was made in collaboration with the company/studio but that they received permission, access to a lump of approved files and maybe some interviews. Finding out who made what specific piece of concept art or what team as it is often a collaboration would require a lot of assistance from the studio that frankly is asking for a lot. Also as a side note it is quite possible that the studio would struggle to find who specifically did what especially for the earlier work as it is stuff that was never intended to become publicly released or even used at all. It's idea generation, brainstorming, proof of concepts that there would have been hundreds of.
It's the equivalent of having a large group of people sketch in the same notebook and then figuring out who drew what once it was full. Sure the artist would know what they did but not necessarily what another drew.
Am I disappointed that I can't know the name of the artist that did an incredible piece of work? Yes.
Am I going to call them out for not giving that level of credit? Not really because it is likely that it just wasn't feasible with what they had access to.

I think the standard edition covers are better than the deluxe, BUT the prints!! I had to quickly cancel my order of the standard. It's on sale rn, standard $50, Deluxe down from $240 to $70aud

you can never sound too nerdy. i only didnt pick it up because for a long time i didnt play shooters on console, which was kinda the go-to-place when friends talked halo. only recently i started playing shooters with a controller instead of a mouse and keyboard, and just let go of that demand to do headshots only and all that :) So who knows, I might get into halo late.

Loved the first one (the game) for the narrative and especially those robot designs shaped like animals, just amazing masterpiece. Have the first artbook and the art seems great on this one, granted, but... unless you recongnize someone's style in the book like Loish in the first one, you just can't find them out without proper credits, a shame indeed.

It simply is the most basic reward that can be given, just as a sign of appreciation. No downside comes to mind, unless you are being Smaug and the artists are your gold.

Unfortunately that sort of mirrors the Non Disclosure Agreement culture in the game and animation industry, now more than ever with AI taking over, artists are more and more seen as something disposable, something you can live without rather than the opposite. Wish it wasn't so@@Spiridude

Well, I certainly won't stop calling it out when I see it.

In the topic of no credits in the book it usually depends on person that is in charge of making it happened or the company policy at the moment. I'm in a couple of Dark Horse published books. From no credits at all, the list of artist at the end of the book (most of the cases) to being credited on the same page. Speaking about it didn't help unfortunately. Once I actually got a reply that it's not in a company's business to credit artists and give them recognition because other companies might want to "steal" the artists.

That's what I thought and brought up too, not sure in this or the next video. I believe that Smaug mentality is just harmful and I hope that studios will stop that mindset.
