With a clear day at the Inde Motorsports Ranch in Willcox, AZ, Zack Courts braves the fire-breathing, 150-horsepower Harley King of the Baggers Race Bike. Ride along as he gives chase to national champion Kyle Wyman riding the new Harley Davidson Pan America. Will Zack be able to handle the 2,146cc beast and keep up? - Авто/Мото
For those curious, this is roughly a 1:59-2:00 lap time. Our test after this event we ran a 1:48.2 on the 2022 KotB race bike. The pan am would need some serious treatment to match the bagger at pace. Hope everyone tunes in to the season opener at Daytona in a couple weeks!
I definitely will tune in, Buddy! This is awesome!
Thanks for the info, Kyle.
For comparison, what would be a rough average lap time on a stock bike like an r6?
@@fattymcgee123 in testing for the Daytona 200 I was able to do low 47’s at the same track. Only about 1.5Sec faster
Keep in mind that my 2022 bagger is faster than last year’s, by about 2sec.
@@KyleWyman33 that's incredible. Crazy engineering to take a bike like the Road Glide and turn those sort of times.
What would you say is the difference between the bagger and a supersport? Corners, braking, straights? Wondering where it makes the most time. Thanks for responding, I appreciate it.
Isn't the pan am stock higher HP and weighing less? Good job on the track
What an awesome opportunity to ride that bike before it’s checked into the museum! Great video, I was leaning with ya! 😆
I've obviously missed something.
Why is it going to a museum ?
@@robhart3451 As part of HDs winning KotB, it is a part of their history. Plus the bike is being replaced for this year with a brand new one
@@wilpagan7745 Thanks for the info👍
"It's like riding a thunderstorm..." If Harley don't use this in marketing 🤷🏿♂️🤷🏿♂️
Becouse its already taken by Aprilia Tuono (thunder)😁
@@srtspeedy4983 it's a damn shame
....And the name of the Buell® Engine originally derived from the Sportster.
People definitely wouldn’t get it confused with the Indian Thunderstroke line of engines.

Ever since I got hooked on the daily rider I've enjoyed all of Zack's rides/commentary/excitement. Makes me want to ride! From Chicagoland though and weather hasn't been too favorable. Soon though.
this week! its gonna get warm!
I rode today, the winter downtime makes it even more fun!
I finally got to hit the road on my bike yesterday and it was glorious lol
As a "new-ish" motorcycle rider it blew my mind you just hopped on that thing and ripped it 15x faster than I ever will ride my motorcycles in my life haha. Way cool!
WOW! I'm speechless, what an absolutely incredible opportunity and to know that Zach Courts is one of the last individuals riding this beast before it goes to the museum! That must have been such a special feeling and ride! Thank you so much for sharing this - how freakin' awesome!!!
As a Bob's Burgers fan, I love your laugh. It sounds just like Bob on Thanksgiving.
King of the Baggers has quickly become one of my favorite racing series by far. Awesome video to see this machine onboard, and as always, love Zack's commentary!
Like watching a tug boat race.
@@Lex-Rex As long as you are having a good time, it's all good.
@@mojomanmurph1925 what’s the saying? “It’s more fun to ride a slow bike fast than to ride a fast bike slow.” I bet that’s a hoot to rip around on. If for nothing else the sheer mass and sound of it probably adds a lot to the experience, I’d jump at the chance to try it myself.
Holy cow that sound!! “Like riding a thunderstorm!” Love it.
My daily rider 2020 Road Glide Limited with cam. 130 ft lbs tq and 120 hp. I get the same feeling EVERY DAY!! Fn'A
Its awesome that the stock Pan America was leading the way and leaning so tight
As one who has to requalify annually on a stock road king by running a track and cone drills, I'm impressed with your ability to expound upon the details of this bike so fluidly while ripping down the track on it. What a cool experience this was.
Idk what's cooler, watching Zack handle that beast of a bagger or seeing Kyle Wyman shred on a Pan America!? Awesome vid you guys!
So happy to see Zack on this ride. When I clicked the link I was terrified I might have to listen to Spurge! LOL. Thanks for the ride along Revzilla. Grat video again!
The fact that Zach can run that course on that bike and still give commentary the whole time is awesome. What a great encapsulation of the experience! 🤘🏽
This is one of the coolest videos I've seen in a while. King of the Baggers was breath of fresh air in an otherwise pretty stale racing season. Super curious to see your opinion on how it rides, I've been fascinated by them since the first KotB in Laguna Seca.
I love the sheer idiot energy of King of the Baggers !
You know it's something else when you can almost scratch the batwing fairings while cornering 😂
Idiot energy describes Harley Davidson perfectly.
It’s the sharknose fairing, not a batwing.
@@altortugas5979 how's that?
For example, because pushrods and air-cooling are hilariously outdated. If HD were an aerospace company, they’d sell you the best biplane on the planet, and it would cost as much as a Gulfstream because heritage. Like, they’ve got oil coolers, so you can’t convince me that a radiator for a liquid cooked engine alters the design language. And why can’t they just make engines with overhead cams? Wouldn’t that be fewer parts and less weight?
It’s like Ducati with their stupid desmos. You want to use that to manage valve float on your race bikes? Fine, have at it, Ducati. On your homologated bikes, just use a rev limiter. Nobody needs race-bike level performance on a street bike, desmos just add unnecessary cost.
See, that’s idiot energy. They are over-engineering to solve problems imposed by foolish technological choices. Harley-Davidsons are the Rube Goldberg machines of the motorcycle world.
King of the Baggers is like the motorcycle equivalent of the NASCAR truck series.
brave man. leaf blower to cool the rear cylinder, ha - strong case for liquid cooling a v-twin.
7:31 I assume every air-cooled Harley comes with a leaf-blower wielding attendant.
Do you guys remember the time when Zack and Ari took the Goldwing and the K 1600 to the track? ;)
Still one of my favorites!
@@zackcourts2280 Heyyyyy! Glad to see your reply :D
@@zackcourts2280 I have an advanced question about braking technique if you could be so kind to answer 🙏🏼
@@BadDriverrr Not sure I'm the one to answer it, but fire away.
@@zackcourts2280 at what point in the turn are you releasing front brake and do you use the rear brake at all? Interested mostly due to the different total weight and front/rear weight balance these bike have with more traditional race bikes
Like riding a THUNDERSTORM! Harley marketing needs to use that! Badass run, man!
This is the coolest video of 2022 so far! Too cool.
That was really cool!! Thanks for taking us for a ride Zack 👊✊👊✊
Very cool 😎 good commentary and thanks for taking us along
Thank you Zach!!! What a good time for you and us!
I'm not much of a HD guy but I have really gotten hooked by the KotB series as well as the Hooligan class of MotoAmerica racing. The exhaust note on that big v twin at full wail is pretty intoxicating.....
Very awesome video thanks for the ride along
The quiet laughs everytime he gets on the throttle tell you how fun the bike really is
Wow! Thanks Zack for introducing us to this beast, oh my!...what a frigging ride, you must have a smile from ear to ear 😊✌️🍻🙏
That was FUN thanks Zach ,RevZilla, Harley
This thing is amazing! I am in love!
Thanks for the ride, that was awesome. I was leaning in the curves watching this. And that sound. 😍
Bet that thing feels like a living monster with the way it’s set up. Cool machine!
The video I didn't know I needed to see. That thing seemed like an awesome handful!
Dutch guy here, man that sound ! Love it!
You are so entertaining. Loved the ride along. It doesn’t matter what you ride, if you ride it hard, it’s a blast. 🏍🇨🇦
The sound that thing makes at wide-open throttle it’s just intoxicating, I could never get tired of listening to it
hell yea good stuff! its impressive watching kyle throw that thing around the track.
Like riding Thunder. Very good analogy lol
That bike sounds amazing!
10 out of 10 sound for sure!!
Woah, both of those bikes are awesome! Looks like fun!
the sound of it alone is awesome 😁
That sounded awesome!!
Motoamerica has something fun going with the king of the bagger series. It's not very competitive but it's so fun to watch.
That looks so much fun.
I wish there were more non standard bikes like this at track days.
Awesome video!!!
Very cool Opportunity
Thank you for this
Sounds wild at 6k wide open, impressive
That was just freaking fun! I was right there with you, right on!!
That was cool!
I'm impressed you could speak so freely about the bike and its features while ripping it across the track. I'd be speechless and focused on just trying to navigate the track. Well done!
Very impresive , even in the small screen of my phone. Thanks for the ride !! 😅
What a cool opportunity!
Cool video, Zach!
You are a really brave Man Zach !
What a machine!
That Pan Am was lapping pretty good as well!
I like the leaf blower to cool the motor
That was gnarly 100%
That's awesome!
Sweet Baby Jesus that engine and exhaust is heavenly.
Looks like a fun ride :D
Lol he is casually reviewing the motorcycle while keeping one knee on the road. What a legend
Him and Ari are legit riders. They humble but they deserve the resort haha
Great video... Found myself twisting my coffee cup back and forth ! .. :)
Woo hoo! That was fun!
Awesome man
Love it! Totally badass ride and wish I could ride half that good.
This bike is absolutely amazing 🤩🤩
Good lord that bike sounds amazing. Freakin beautiful noises
Well that was a pretty cool trip, really appreciate it. Pretty into the KotB stuff as I am a young HD rider. The traction it is gaining is just hilarious really, who would have thought, touring bikes around a racetrack.
So sick!!
That was freaking amazing 😄
And so fun to watch!!😄🤣
It sounds like an American GTE racecar with a huge v8. I love it!
I'm not always jonesing for loud exhaust, but I gotta say, the exhaust on this sounds great! Listening with headphones, sounds like a thunderstorm hammering away in there!
Effing awesome! I love Harley Davidson!
I would love to ride this.
I had a Honda XR75 with the foot pegs mounted to the crank case. I was turning in hard and the peg clipped a tree root and ripped a large crack in the case, which then poured all the oil out on the dirt and the engine was toast.
Though not fast, sounded like you had a lot of fun!
That is the best sounding bike I’ve heard yet
Honestly it sounds pretty great
Zack’s excitement is contagious. My only context for this would be like strapping myself to my ‘90 Miata’s engine, w/o the body, and hauling around a race track. No thanks, but very fun to watch!
Best video on the internet so far.
That was an awesome video!!!!! I would have love to hear from the pan American rider. Both bikes were very impressive!! Good job Harley Davidson!
I like it when you put Zach on his favorite motorcycle manufacturer. Please make him do it more.
How about that Pan Am killing it?
I was thinking the same thing!!! It was a stock Pan Am and the fact that Kyle was able to ride it like that, was mind blowing. I couldn't take my eyes off it lol
That think sounded insane at full song
That thing looks like a riot
Very cool.
God it sounds so good
I want one! Now! This very instant!😎
Man O man, I'd sure like to try that !
This is like the Bently Continental GT3 of race bikes. BIG BOI.
I’m DUMBFOUNDED that you can ride that thing and still talk to camera. You’re a mad man
Notorious non-Harley guy here…this was great and I want to ride it!
I was watching it for the Pan America, it’s Harley’s only good bike. To see it, stock, easily pacing the highly modified “race” bike… I have hope for what Harley could be and lament that it’s taking them so long to get there.
@@altortugas5979 FXDLS AND FXLRS might make you root for fun V-twins. My god do the Harley denizens have a way to go though..
@@altortugas5979 the bagger is quicker around the track than the Pan America, though
That’s awesome
Man, that sounds sooooo good
Impressive how you kept up a good commentary while hammering hard on a bike you don't know.
U have a great life riding all types of motorcycle
Wasn’t expecting to kinda like the exhaust notes
