- In the middle of a recent RUclips live stream, Johan - a Guitar Tips patron - asked me to show three dominant chord shapes that I like to use. This video excerpt was my reply. I've made a PDF to go along with it - which you can find on my Patreon channel (link below) or on my Teachable site: adam-levy-s-sc...

Fabulous lesson!!
Thank you!
Great tip. I use those same voicings, adding the altered tones was helpful. Thanks!
Fabulous, thank you Adam
Ciao Adam, I remember there are a couple of pages of Ted Greene picking the tritone and then playing around with all the altered tones. Very practical and useful. Let Charlie Haden playing the root. ❤
Those last few videos are really amazing!
i recognize the first dominant voicing from Jim Campilongo's tune Twister
Great lesson. I've realized the most effective way for me to visualize the fretboard is through the lens of 7 chords (dominant 7, major 7, and minor maj 7) so I'm working on finding all these chords on the neck on the fly. However I've been wondering which ones are actually used in practice, and in what context, because I'm finding some of these voicing are trickier to use than others, so this video came at a great time. Thanks Adam!
How cool.. also, I hear you doing something in “Something You Got”(Fan Favorites) that reminds me of your “Give Me a Reason” solo that stops me in my tracks every time. Your albums pay dividends- with interest!
Would be nice to see a similar video, on other chord types/shapes
Ah - thanks. That's a good idea.
