As a Brazilian seeing this was so special...I have something to say though... We don't necessarily make it in the same cup we serve it... But it sure does help (less dishes to wash)... But we sometimes shake it, it gets a nice greenish white color and when we need to make big amounts at once we use a blender... Your pronunciation was the best I've ever seen from a gringo... My favorite thing is hearing people from outside of Brazil saying things like "caipirinha" or "cachaça". It's always very cute. Nowadays, caipisake is also very popular, where you change from cachaça to sake. And, if you change the lemon to any other fruit, you get what we call "caipifruta"... To which you can add condensed milk and turn into one of my favorites drink from when I used to drink alcohol, "batida".
Very rare to see someone not portuguese to being able so spell the "ch" and "nh" sounds so well, good job. Also this is the best summer cocktails, hands down, drinking this after a beach day is a gift from God.
I got to try the drink a couple years ago and now leblon cachaça is a mainstay in my bar at home. Works well with any citrus soda as a simple mixed drink too

As a brazilian, one detail that is not usually talked about: most export cachaça is barrel aged, because it is sweeter and lighter tasting, but caipirinha is made with "white" cachaça, that hasnt touched wood
