The one thing I noticed, is the aggregate has probably been sitting there for quite sometime. Which likely has no moisture content. With batch batch plants, the agg sits in piles for days on end, drawing in moisture. Most batch plants heat up the agg to 330 which won't burn off all the moisture contained within the agg, before its mixed with the asphalt material. How does the retained moisture within the agg affect the binding capabilities of the asphalt?

Can I use pea-stone and 5% roofing tar and mix and heat it all up for an overlay of my drive-way for edges and large dips and potholes? Can you put that in a bag so I can heat it at home, and buy it at Homedepot?

could you please comment how to make liquid asphalt using asphalt binder, water and an emlusifier ? Should I mix emulsifier to water and add it to the heated asphalt ? I have access to the high shear mixer too. Thanks !
