Can someone familiar with the barbershop scoring metrics explain what First Take does so well here to earn the highest performance score? How does performance score differ from singing or music?
One of the few songs that made me tear up at international, the pure depth of emotion and expression alongside being enveloped in a beautiful wall of sound was breathtaking, bravo!
I can understand why they did do it in the Semis and not the Finals. Namely because they did a comedy number in the Finals and it wouldn't have fit the mood at all
This performance is definirely a core memory for me. I was sitting next to the Jen, Drew's sister and we shared in our pride for these gents and I couldn't help but sobb at how beautiful this performance was.
Man I always wonder how I’m able to cry to barbershop ballads, then this song reminded me. It just moves you in a way that no other genre can, incredible!
There’s a reason this was the highest scoring song in performance of the entire contest. Just unbelievable. Not a single dry eye in the house.

I literally kept crying my eyes out through The Ladies first song because this song got me so good.

If I were their manager, I'd have moved this one to the Finals. ABSOLUTELY NAILED IT.

I simply do not know the magic that let's people sing with this level of searing emotion, and still hold it together enough to sing that well.
