Elizabeth, it was about a year ago ( via this RUclips channel) when you had difficulty breathing just getting up for the day. I prayed for healing as you struggled to even talk. Prayers have been answered as there is such joy in your whole being and you are just glowing ! Traveling through your eyes is a special blessing with such a beautiful transformation!
Bill, you are such a talented man. God has blessed both of you and together you are a blessing to so many. Thank you for sharing your travel adventures as they have been stellar and encouraged my husband and I to travel to the areas you are exploring !

You will never know how much I appreciate and ENJOY your videos of your travels! I've always loved to travel and see and learn about new places. But I'm confined to a wheelchair and since my precious husband went home to Heaven, I'm also confined to my home. My daughter takes me to doctor's appointments every 5 to 6 months and once in a while we go to lunch afterward. Your adventures are just wonderful. Thank you!!

The train doesn’t honk because it’s entertaining to its passengers. It’s law that it honks at every intersection as a safety precaution. It warns others of its presence and that it is driving through. It saves lots of lives.
The ride looked great! I’m glad you were able to enjoy it. You really need to go to the Grand Canyon! You would love that too.

    Hi Bill and Elizabeth,
I was lucky enough to ride that train ( in the winter) when I lived in Crownpoint, New Mexico. In the winter, it did not go the whole distance. My friend and I stayed at a lovely old hotel in Durango. The scenery was GORGEOUS and I am so glad that I was able to make that trip! This was about 5 years ago in the winter. So, our trip went up and back to Durango. Elizabeth in Texas

Million dollar highway leads you into Ourray. Nice. While in Silverton visit the cemetery the headstones from mining accidents are very poetic. What impresses me is the strength and tenacity to build these railroads and what the miners did to dig for gold and silver. So many mines in that southwest part of Colorado. We use to Jeep around that area.

We had friends come visit us from Tennessee a few years ago and took a steam train ride from Big Valley Alberta to Stettler. We had a lovely dinner set up for us in Stettler and walked the town before heading back on the ride back we had a fake train robbery with guys on horseback who boarded the train and pretended to rob us but actually gave us stuff and let us take pictures of them Then a pretend sheriff❤ boarded the train and the robbers took off. It was the highlight of the trip and our friends never forgot that adventure. 😂 I totally understand your excitement. Enjoy and thanks for sharing.

Such a gorgeous trip!!! You took me back to one family vacation when the family of 6 took the train from Durango to Silverton and back. I'm in my 60s now, was 11 when we did it. Never forgot looking down to the raging Animas River so far below, so close to actual flood stage that the rapids thundered. It has been a rainy time, though not on the day we sat in the open cars too. It was so beautiful. We left our campground a day early because it kept raining, and we had rented a camper/tent in a KOA campground right on the banks of the Animas, and the water kept getting closer and closer to the tent. The day after we left, heading back to Denver (where we lived), the Animas flooded some of the tents along the river, including what had been ours. All these years later, not a lot has changed. Thank you for reviving all those precious memories.

We travelled a couple of times while the kids were little. Now that they're grown up, we've travelled just a little bit. We've decided that when we travel, we're driving no more than about 5 hours a day--and not every day. The goal will be to enjoy the places we travel to--and through--and not cover distance.

You definitely made me want to do this. My stepmom’s niece lives there and her son works for the RR. He’s 19 and he drives a small train car behind the train to do maintenance and make sure that everything is working well. It’s a fantastic job. He’s a fantastic kid. So now I’ve had two different sources this summer that have made me want to do this!

That's smart! We have traveled full time in our RV for the past 8 years. When we first started out, we tried to see everything and do everything. We quickly learned to slow down and visit fewer sights but actually enjoy them more! Loved the train ride. We have done a similar one near Jerome in Arizona. Those views are breathtaking!

I told my granddaughter who lives in Arizona that she should smell the ponderosa pines next time she goes up to Payson. 😊
