  • Hydrogen sulfide (H₂S) is a colorless, toxic, and flammable gas with a distinctive rotten egg smell. It occurs naturally in crude oil, natural gas, and from the decay of organic matter. Although it is useful in industrial processes like sulfuric acid production, H₂S is highly dangerous, causing respiratory failure or death at high concentrations. Due to its heavier-than-air property, it can accumulate in low areas. By making proper ventilation, personal protective equipment and gas detection will help to enhance safety at workplace.
