The beef and noodles made by my grandma I miss so much! Her noodles was just flour and eggs. But for the life of my I cannot do them correctly! Reames has become the version I make with the use of the crockpot! But I think Grandma's just have the know how. Becuz when we cleaned out her kitchen and split the memories amongst us. We never found a crockpot! That woman knew how to make crockpot tender meat without a crockpot. If only I'd of paid attention to her cooking a little more lol

My grandmother doesn’t have one either. She uses a saucepan pot on the stove. Gas is good for slow cooking. A real low heat, the lowest you can go before it turns of on you. “Low and slow” didn’t come from slow cookers. ☺️
Works every time. NOW if you have kids and young ones at that then I would use my slow cookers BUT if they are at school I can use the stove. Good luck.

@annie When we used to get home from school, sometimes my mom had those noodles drying on tea towels on the back of all the kitchen and dining room chairs haha…and idk how she made them either. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I'm South African, living in Canada. Love your videos. You're really helping with great ideas. By the way, Nando's is pronounced like the second pronunciation you mentioned. Like Nan (grandma) dose. Nando's. For those in Canada....Save On Foods International sells it sometimes. Or any South African store. There are plenty around :-)
Also, Mindy....thank you for everything you share. I have learned a lot about what foods are available to buy here. Take tomato paste in a tube for example. I had no idea such a thing existed until I started watching your channel, and also crescent rolls and many other things. For someone who didnt grow up this side of the world, your channel is very helpful! You have also saved us from overheating in the kitchen in summer by getting me onto a slow cooker!

I have an Instant Pot Auro Pro when I did my research on the slow cooker one of the things ppl complained about was the same thing, when I looked into it further the directions stated that you are to pick low or high and then the time amount. That's it, you don't press start because if you do the cooker thinks you want do I time delay. You don't need to press start. That's why maybe it does not seem to be cooking like you need it.

I also have a crock pot brand slow cooker and I rarely put it on high and leave it there because it will get way too hot and cook the meat to the point of over cooked and sometimes burned if you don’t watch it.
I also have an instant pot and the slow cooker function is low as well.

The garlic one is a little less spicy, though still a bit too hot for my kid. There's also (at least here, UK) a lemon and herb option, or you could maybe try using half the bottle of garlic and herb? (It's also great poured over chicken and baked/air fried and it lasts a decent while in the fridge once opened - a few weeks at least)
