The actress that plays Cadet Hailey was also in The Outer Limits(1995) in the season 1 episode 19(If These Walls Could Talk) she was making out with a younger Ryan Reynolds who plays Deadpool. Tom McBeath(Col. Maybourne) and Dwight Schultz(The Game Keeper) and Gary Jones(Sgt. Walter Harriman) are also in the same Outer Limits episode.
The US air force love this show, apparently it was responsible for an increase in recruitment. Supposedly in the actual NORAD base there is a door marked Stargate Command. Many of the actors have done appearances with the US air force.
Fun fact: RDA asked general ryan if he was acting like a real airforce colonel. According to RDA General Ryan said he known colonels like Oneill in his career

General Ryan took the cameo due to the overwhelming detail to uniform, weapons, and protocol the show was determined to 'getting it right.' The only minor flaw was 'hats on' whenever outside.
5:40 This may or may not have been foreshadowing for the Drone missiles. Stargate Atlantis did an episode where they had micro-drones as personal weapons. Like a Skitter swarm but made of burning. The Alterans might've been inspired by these critters for their phasing smart-missiles. Lord knows they researched other energy based life for Ascension.
The fun thing about this episode is that Samanta was probably right. From Stargate Atlantis we know that this type of creature is intelligent enough to demonstrate social behaviour. In one of the series, a group of those lights were enjoying a chocolate bar that major Shepard threw into a hostile representative of a wraith species in a desert planet. No parallels were ever made, but those were clearly the same beings.
What Cadet Hailey was lacking is that she wanna prove herself but dun seem to get why she gets bad grades for her assignments. It's because it was not the assignment. It's to try and get her to understand that you may not agree with what a superior orders, but you still need to follow it. It's the military after all, not civilian astronomy and physics. Which she eventually caught onto, and she really didn't have anything she needed to prove. She'd seen where it could all lead and that was enough to put her back on-track, so to speak.
Funny thing is, this time Carter's theory is more based on feeling and observation, but Haley's is more scientific. Looks like Samantha even though she is always a brilliant mind, got some personality upgrades and she now trusts both science and feelings.
I know I am a bit late catching up but to answer your question about the number of SG teams working out of the SGC there's 25 of them in total by the time the show ended. While they all get sent out on similar missions we see in the show they also have unique assignments so some teams would see danger more than others for example. SG's 1, 2, 14, 15 and 17 are all exploration teams and all do what we see SG-1 doing the majority of the time. SG's 3, 5, 10, 12, 18, 25 are all combat teams. Mostly the marines you see from time to time show up to help save SG-1. SG's 4, 7, 8 and 16 are all medical or scientific teams. 11 Would fall under this too although they're slightly different as they specialise in Archeology and Engineering as well as the usual scientific study stuff. SG-6 is a search and rescue team, SG-2 also doubles up for this too sometimes SG-9 is the only diplomatic team and you'd think probably one of the busiest teams on the base. SG's 13 and 19 are spec ops stealth teams SG-20 is a unique team that I won't go into for spoiler reasons. You'll understand why they're unique though when they're introduced As for SG's 21-24 they've never been described enough to know what they specialise in.
Not just an actual Air Force general, but THE actual Air Force general Michael E. Ryan (yes I know RDA made that joke already), who was active chief of staff for the Air Force at the time. His successor, general Jumper, also shows up in the show at one point.
if you have access to the directors commentary, they sing made up lyrics to the Stargate theme in this episode ruclips.net/video/nLxnAmKXpEM/видео.html
@@animalm4st3r There was one character that was designed to be her that often butted heads with McKay and could tap dance in SGA, but I think they changed her name to be a new character.

why do you make this reactions shorter and shorter when everyone else doing longer and longer reactions ????

That door is supposedly a broom close, but with its moniker it only causes people wonder how as to how much is being swept under the rug.

Swooping is... bad.
I joined the military, in part because of stargate 😅
Fun fact: RDA asked general ryan if he was acting like a real airforce colonel.
According to RDA General Ryan said he known colonels like Oneill in his career
“I’ve known some like you, and some far worse than you”
Yep and they never climb above Colonel, lol
First appearance of Dr Bill Lee! Great recurring character. 😁😁😁
Fun fact, General Ryan was an actual air force general and chief of staff, not an actor.
*edit: saw you look it up right after I commented lol
He found it out without saying fun fact too...
It’s funny how you can immediately tell he’s not an actor lol.
This isn't the last time the Air Force Chief of Staff will appear on this show. General Ryan's successor appears later on.
missed you bro
❤️
This is one of my favourite episodes. I love Cadet Hailey.. A five footer who swings high!

I think Haley becomes an officer of the Hamond in SGU
@@jonreese7066 I missed that. I will check it out.
General Ryan took the cameo due to the overwhelming detail to uniform, weapons, and protocol the show was determined to 'getting it right.' The only minor flaw was 'hats on' whenever outside.
It started with 9 teams. I think in one episode in season 2. Hammond was trying to covince his superiors for three more teams.
SGC is growing
They mentioned SG-11 in Spirits
General Ryan was there Airforce personell who would come make sure the show looked and felt like it was being operated by the airforce.

Can't wait for season 5. Some returning actors also some new introduction plus just one of my favourite seasons
Hope you’re well man. Fun episode, fun reaction
Mr Failey McWhaley! Welcome back, missed you last week
One of my favorite SG-1 episodes! Yas!
Fun fact for myself, this was the episode that introduced me to the show
Fun fact the FN p90 has been around since 1992
I was just wondering when youd upload :)
Finally a new episode and its the Cadet Hailey one
I’d say this is in my top 10...this episode hints on continuation of next gen. Like stuff like this.
I believe they eventually have something around 24 SG Teams by this time? I could be remembering wrong
I don’t think it’s quite 24 teams by this point, there is eventually at least 24 but I’d guess it’s something like 12 or so by this point
Ayy new sg upload les go
I think this is the first episode with Dr. Lee!
finally another SG1 episode, that took to long
Yep the wait is long and the videos are short lol
That is the General Ryan the actual usaf general
I actually watched Haley's second episode recently. There is more!
Missed ya man, where you been?
Ryan appeared twice. His cameo was set up as a in joke. Ryan is or was the head of the Air Force at the time. The real 1 not the tv 1.
Ryan only appeared once. It was his successor Gen. John P. Jumper who appeared in another cameo a few seasons later.
Well, you want training episodes? You will get one, a very good one, and the cadet will be there, don't you worry.
man i am still bummed they never brought her back
They did. Perhaps you need to rewatch? :)
