Game Description:
All beings hold a soul's hidden grace,
This tale, a woven dream upon the page.
Sometimes on a forgotten shelf they rest,
Yet within, their own lives manifest.
Step into an oriental fantasy realm inhabited by humans, beastlings, and majestic dragons. After a golden age spanning thousands of years, the bustling metropolis of Bluescales now faces tumultuous times. Here, magic and technology coexist, complicating social governance. To further stir the pot, the secret art behind ancient miracles-presumed long lost-is resurfacing. Beneath the city's clamor, a storm unlike any other is quietly brewing...
A long, long time ago, there lived a wolf, a fox, and a snake. But these weren’t just your ordinary wild animals. They were very patient and wise, and after a lot of hard work, they gained human form and became "beastlings", as they liked to call themselves. Now, let's meet our heroes:
Triratna, the wolf-turned-monk, is able to see and sever karma lines-the threads of cause and effect tying everything together.
Taiqing, the fox-turned-priest, is an expert of transmuting substances and other Daoist spells.
Transia, the snake-turned-artist, is gifted with the ability to enter paintings and alter people's appearances.
Lead three heroes, each with a unique ability, through a maze of curious events and bust the conspiracy behind it all. As you progress, three separate storylines will flow into one. Be the all-seeing eye and the guiding hand, switch perspectives, combine their powers to overcome obstacles and solve mysteries. The fate of Bluescales is depending on you.
Looks like a chill, low stress game. I like the character designs and the music.
34:33 - skittles is like ten-pin bowling, but without a formal lane. And the ball is much smaller and lighter than a bowling ball. You set up the skittles (I.e. pins) like you would for bowling and you bowl the ball and try to knock all of them down just like with bowling.
This seems really charming, and the sprites are soooo well done
Just as I finished this myself. Perfect timing.
This looks interesting. I don't remember any examples of a side scrolling mystery game.
yall should buy the game. it has good characters and the dialogue is really funny
This game is great, the characters and story is so compelling and the minigames and gameplay mechanics surprisingly do require some thinking. It even has quite a replaybility because of the different choices and dialogues.
40:09 "Without these integrity lines, a mountain is nothing but a giant heap of dust" I didn't know there was a connection between karma and string theory; this world is just one big conspiracy board (this game's wild, and I'd like to see the "karma lines" idea being explored in different games/contexts).
56:02 "Are you folks supposed to be any different from humans, other than the look?" Furries in a nutshell (the answer seems to be "no").
1:25:07 I've seen those trigrams before; the South Korean flag has 4 of them (there are 8 in total - called "bagua" in Chinese -, symbolizing fundamental principles of reality). Each trigram consists of three lines, either broken (yin) or unbroken (yang), symbolizing the dynamic interplay of these two opposing forces. That one (☱/duì) represents joy, the marsh, and the autumnal equinox ("the marsh fosters all forms of life, therefore making everything pleasant" - I'm not sure if I get it, tbh).
1:25:57 That trigram (☲/lí) represents fire, dependence, and the female ("it symbolizes fire, which implies drying up all things. Since fire depends on combustible material to spread, it implies a relationship of dependence").
This game is getting pretty interesting, it's got neat stuff
The lost Vikings were in the blizzard Moba Heroes of the Storm. the Blonde Viking had a slingshot.
Chinese spiritualism mixed with furries that focuses on mysteries. A kind of cooky premise, but it is well done so far. Kinda curious if everyone's name is a pun that you can figure out. The main characters might only make sense in Chinese context, but the characters are fun regardless.
2:00:46 - maybe we’ll get lucky and Pota will return and this time he’ll get a sorcerer to body paint him with non-flesh-eating paint. 🙏
48:30 well at least they established how animals became furries in this setting
1:58:50 - so what you really mean is orange is your favourite colour, right?
😜
You met a little red haired boy named tomato?
52:30 well going by the way it sounds i think it might be chinese Chess
Oh yea looking at the pieces that is definitly chinese chess
1:46:37 - let me guess; this is Pota right?
48:30 well at least they established how animals became furries in this setting
