  • Here is the December installment of my 20 Second Season Series! In this series, I am taking up to 20 seconds of video from each day I spend on the mountain. The month of December started off with a fun and easy ski tour into the National Forest to cut down our Christmas Tree! It was super fun to get out there with my wife and 2 year old, and searching for, finding, and cutting down our own tree made for a unique and memorable experience. If you haven't done it, I definitely recommend it. It's only $10-$20 for the permit in many National Forests, and it's a super fun way to get a tree, especially with little ones. It's also a great way to get out and explore your public lands!
The rest of the month was spent low angle meadow skipping for the most part. The avalanche safety conditions weren't the best this month after receiving a decent amount of new snow on a very weak early season snow pack. But at the end of the day, I just like getting out in the backcountry with my friends, stretching my legs, and breathing the fresh air. And sometimes smooth snow on simple and safe terrain is just what the doctor ordered.
