I watched every video on how to pull a crossover bend last night and this was bar far the easiest to follow. I pulled by first crossover this morning a piece of scrap 15mm pipe, 10 minutes later I pulled my second on a 3 metre length of 15mm (had to do it in the front garden in order to get the angle....perfect. Then did 2 partial crossovers in 22 mm, spot on. No vice to hand ( though it would have been helpful to have one) so it was all done with just my cheapo 35 quid bender. Thanks James you are a rockstar.
James, thank you for this video! Determined to master this skill I've been out in the shed on this damp morning practicing your methods, over and over. After a few failed, and clumsy, attempts I seem to have it 😁👍
great to see copper bending, in the age of speedfit it's great to get onto an unvented cylinder installation, more bends with less fittings always gives me a massive sense of satisfaction on the job. Nice one!
Thanks James. I'm stating my plumbing course on Monday and have wondered how to do a proper cross over. Thanks. Seems like you enjoyed your holiday and congrats btw. When I came across your channel a few weeks ago I watch ALL your videos in a space of 2 days. Very helpful, thanks - Hold Tight :-)
Well, I'm oftec and gas safe now. Been full time self employed for a good chunk of that time now. Started evenings and weekends around my full time job. Doing all sorts, heating, general plumbing and bathroom refurbs.
Good job mate! I'm a joiner brushing up cos I got a pipe or two to manhandle! I tend to forget something or other when pipes occasionally hove into view. HOWEVER, I hereby challenge you to bend one freehand for display purposes (please)!
When you turned it over and transferred the mark from the center of the pipe, it should have been the back of the pipe imo, if you’re then referencing the last bend from edge of the former which is where the back of the bend will be.
Hi brill video. Thanks. I would be great full if you can also put one for a measured half Passover video please. Got assessments coming up be really helpful the easy way going in to another pipe urgently thank you
Hello mate im trying to do a 10mm offset on 15mm copper pipe with a pipe bender like the yellow one on your video , and i cant seem to get it right could you please advise me on how to do it if its possible , cheers mate
Great videos BTW! How would you chase this into a wall? Is it better to bend a horizontal cold feed over a vertical hot feed, vice versa or does it not matter? . Also can these Bends get away with not being insulated if the majority of the straight sections are?
Hi everyone, question for you! Why is it when I bend 22mm copper pipe I end up getting heavy marks in it where the little lever arm holds the pipe in place when you bend the pipe? Is my pipe bending machine not very good?
Hi, does anyone know how to bend flat copper pipes? I understand I'd have to stuff the flat copper pipes with, like, fine sand so that kinks won't form when bending. But is there a specific tool to bend flat copper pipes with?
I have a heating system that suffers from differential temperatures in every rad top and bottoms are also different what can I do to get symmetrical temps throughout the system Brian
***** I will in the summer when the weather is less likely to freeze. Thanks I was kinda hoping to get away till then I am an ex plumber who now earns a crust in the design office so my hand is out of practice as they say. Enjoyed your channel.. I like the pin hole trick I have used a self tapping screw wrapped in ptfe tape round the shaft just below the head.... before now ha ha the things we do to plumb! Another trick Soder a penny on a half inch pipe for a stop end, then you can knock it off later and solder a fitting straight on before that I used to bash the pipe between two hammers if I was short of fittings on a late winters night in a first fix job, and solder the gap but the penny was cheaper than a stop end just dont solder the queens bonce, it may be a bit illegal!
Morning sir I have just started a plumbing and heating course can you recommend a good pipe bender I can start practising with and take on in to my job when I have completed my course thanks stutter hold tight
It's really weird for me to watch this. I have no need for this! I have no house, and im living in a apartment that the house owner fix everything. But i'm enjoying to see your videos. Keep it up!.
Yes but if you lose or your skills to convenience products you will never be able to manage without them. Better to see bends than fittings and fewer chances of leaks.

Thanks a lot mate! I am about to bend this crossover tonight , attach it to the unit and solder it all neatly.
Can we have a video on you getting a treble 20 through that crossover please? ;)
Thankyou... that's well better than what my tutor was teaching me
Excellent vid - very informative. Exactly what I was looking for as I was concerned about using multiple elbows to run pipes over others. Cheers!
Nice to see you back I hope you enjoyed in Italy

Have you done a video for the half Cross over. I mean the pipe that you put in an equal tee fitting for the cold water to overcome the hot?
Many many helpful video
Can you do a video on how to correctly calculate pipe before doing bends and how much it stretches on 90, 45 and 30 machine bends
Good job mate! I'm a joiner brushing up cos I got a pipe or two to manhandle! I tend to forget something or other when pipes occasionally hove into view. HOWEVER, I hereby challenge you to bend one freehand for display purposes (please)!

Ask the plumber, I have a set of hilmor benders but the markings on the formers do not match 45 & 90 deg have you any ideas what there playing at.
Great videos BTW! How would you chase this into a wall? Is it better to bend a horizontal cold feed over a vertical hot feed, vice versa or does it not matter? . Also can these Bends get away with not being insulated if the majority of the straight sections are?
How do you determine how much length of pipe you need

Ready salted, normal copper!
Thnx u sir

Wheeyyyy!
Morning sir I have just started a plumbing and heating course can you recommend a good pipe bender I can start practising with and take on in to my job when I have completed my course thanks stutter hold tight
Hi there. Use Hilmar. They're pretty good or rothenburger.
You could always buy a crossover section to solder into your pipework if you dont have anything to do your bending with
Does this same rule apply to 22mm cooper??
Pretty much!
Could you semi crossover pending please
On the list mate!
Didn't learn fuck all in college you learn it all on site but I need to get back into plumbing
It's really weird for me to watch this.
I have no need for this! I have no house, and im living in a apartment that the house owner fix everything. But i'm enjoying to see your videos. Keep it up!.
How about a partial crossover...?
You da maaan
Fuck, if I only had this when I was an apprentice. I remember practicing for hours on scrap copper
if you can bend a 35mm cross over a 28 mm piece ov pipe jaz using your benders you defo r the mutz nutz pal ha
Driving in Italy: if you’re not doing 50+mph at all times, you’re getting overtaken especially on a single car width road with a blind bend up ahead.
Can you do vids with tripod bender
I'll add it to the list mate!
plumberparts hi there I have 1 1/8 copper pipe what tool can I use to bend this I don't want to use elbows.

cheers ears
Save time and just buy an endex crossover saves messing about! !
Yes but if you lose or your skills to convenience products you will never be able to manage without them. Better to see bends than fittings and fewer chances of leaks.
Like like
That’s not a former!....that’s the guide! The former is the curved part that forms the bend.
I call my pipe bender Will Young.
Very nice!
No wonder the cat looked grumpy, that collar was for a lady cat. Poor thing, will have no street cred.
Should of just watched your videos instead of going college
F*CKING LOVE YOU ❤ 😍 YOU JUST SAVED ME 🤠
