HS2 A46 Ashow road 3rd October 2024

Phase two: May - October 2024
Our second phase of preparatory work includes:
Installing temporary vehicle restraint systems to support the flow of traffic and ensuring the safety of our workforce
Installing CCTV to monitor the flow of traffic
Widening the embankment next to the carriageway
Realigning drainage ahead of carriageway drainage work later in our programme
We have installed a temporary vehicle restraint system (TVRS) creating a safe working area for our workforce, while we complete embankment widening works. These works will require a single lane closure.
Once the completion of the current Warwickshire County Council highway works take place, lane one restrictions north and southbound will remain in place between Thickthorn Roundabout and A45 Stivichall Interchange until early spring 2025.

it is going to be a sight when it gets jacked into position

be interesting to see progress around the Ballsall Common & Hampton in Arden viaducts _ not the complexity of the A46 structure but interesting to see those structures progressing _ preparatory work on Intermediate station _main contract not yet started but again preparatory work ongoing _ with Arden Cross master plan also for implementation on surrounding area _ going to be busy around there in next few years _ keep the footage going _ enjoying 👍

They reckon April, but obviously it depends what kind of winter we end up with. They’re cracking on with it mind you. They’ve poured some of the side pieces already and 1’of the uprights and have also started bringing in parts of the bridge deck beams. As for the Ashow Road, we’re waiting for the Utility numpty’s to finish, so the rest of the Road construction can be finished.

The bridge will be pushed in to place. Be interesting to see how long the road will be closed for while they sort that out
