Another great video. That candle stuff is my wifes favorite part. Got some good news....Here in Harlan , we are about to get a new gym, hardware store and most importantly....A DOLLAR TREE!!!! Its all going into the mall where Gordmans was. The lady that works in the clothing store in that mall was telling us about it. The feller that works at the Family Dollar said he knew about it also. We love the Dollar Tree. Keep up the great videos. Thanks.
Another enjoyable video from you all. I remember when the railroads got rid of the caboose. I clearly recall my late grandfather and I talking about it. Must have been around 1987 or 88. Times were changing in this old world, and I remember feeling so sad that my favorite part of watching all those trains in Marietta Ga, was gone. You know the old saying "If I only had a dollar for every.." Well mine would be for every train my grandfather and I saw go by with a Caboose on the end, while we were sitting and watching from his front porch there on good old Trammel Street, in Marietta. If I chance to see one now and then like you showed in your video, it keeps his memory ever closer to me.
I love being able to see where my moms family came from!my grandparents were both from Corbin, London areas.. so if you know any Higginbotham’s or Hamblins that’s moms family. My mom had an infant sister that dies when she was 2 she is buried in Dunn Cemetery and my Great Grama Hamelin is buried in Essington Cemetery by London .
Great video Coyote! Love the railroad and KFC theme of the little water park! That old steam engine is awesome! Every time I go to Corbin I like to go by the railroad yard and see the trains, I can't believe it's been 2 year's since I've been over there, love your videos! I can visit from my chair at home! Thanks for the tour!
Thank you both again.. I have family in Corbin I get in when I can you're video let's me know where things have changed wish Harlan would do the same and follow.. One question is the root beer stand still open?
My aunt Doris Walker worked at that hotel when it was nice! They killed Corbin when they did the 2 lanes in and 2 lanes out! My uncle Jerry Walker ran the little gas station just down the road near 17th street it was forced to close after the new road configuration! I miss the old original Corbin. But I moved away back in 2007.
I’m thinking to move to KY with my family, looked at Corbin, how is the school system, how are the people and gun laws? I’m pro Gun by the way. Thank you and great video.
My son went to the Corbin high school for one year, he liked it. Kentucky is a constitutional carry, castle doctrine and stand your ground state. You can also get a concealed carry permit for reciprocity purposes if you travel outside the state often.

That run down motel was called the Suburban Motel. I actually stayed there for a couple of nights in August 1996.
