There's a big problem with Vandebharat. You must have noticed the Vandebharat doesn't make much delays in any route, the reason being, whenever a Vandebharat runs, the track get clears from freight, local or any other trains. It is so much prioritized that one day from CST,the entire stretch of superfast line got booked. This comes at a cost, because basically like road traffic,VIP cars/ambulance gets clearance, the same thing happens with Vandebharat and THIS is the reason why it is costly conpare to other premium trains. However the real problem will start if Vandebharat frequency gets increased,Who will get prioritized signal first? Since then it will be Vandebharat vs Vandebharat. So if frequency gets increased, even after paying premium this train is bound to face delays,Just like any other trains. It is because we are prioritizing more on trains and less on tracks, very few DF corridors, junctions are laid out like medieval technology to cut down cost. In very few location, jointless bolt tracks are laid out (supports 160kmph,yah that agra route). Tracks are laid out like snakes (due to land acquisition problem and sometimes to avoid making less bridges, tunnels) with each curvature comes speed restrictions again. Unless we solve these actual problems, average speed is always going to be worst. Remember, even the 70's diesel Loco WDM first series can make Mumbai-Howrah distance under 20hr,if the tracks are superfast all the way.
You know all the problems , you can even see into the future , how about a 50% increase in train fares across all categories ? even then Indian railways will be the cheapest on the planet
@@rajeevpalthukral764 Well,if brute facts cast a dent on your understanding, then it's on you. Also, ever heard of the term "purchasing power parity"? With Indian per capita, the railway tickets are priced properly. Also national projects meant for public are not expected to be profitable, example: Project Eurostar. Educate yourself, instead of staying in denial with false pride or whatever,i almost feel pity for you. Also, how on earth it's the cheapest,if sometimes 2nd class AC price cast over flight prices? You talk about price, how about comfort/price ratio. Mumbai-Howrah fastest duranta takes 28hr and never make it on time and the 3rd AC tickets cost about 4k while flight cost about 6k which takes 2hr. It doesn't look the cheapest when the ordeal comes into the factor? Even the government know almost 95% people are ignorant, which is why these marketing stunt works🤣 Here's a fact you should digest,The Britishers laid down 54,000km of rail tracks in india before freedom and we just added 14,000km until today & maintained old lines/upgrade/doubling/electrified.

one more reason can be that Vande Bharat express is sort of a premium experience train and if we remove the normal locomotive trains with Vande Bharat express, it will affect movement of citizens from one place to another as the cost of ticket in it self is quite high as compared to normal locomotive trains

We should wait for atleast two years To fully replace conventional trains by vande Bharat.. Vandebharat are new And we don't know what will happen after this train crossed certain time.. We don't know reliability.. So we need to slowly replace So that if there is any issue with present technology of vandebharat We can rectify that in industry Otherwise we will have to face alot of issue in all trains all together at same time
EMUs are better than locos on slopes. So what they do in what sections will not even need to be done. They can just run it as if it was level ground. But rest of your points are correct. Vande Bharat trains are less flexible.
#AskPT Why IR don't use shared bogies or shared wheel technology in vb express? In normal train their coach removing and adding is common but vb is trainset. This won't be an issue on vb By shared bogies or wheels train weight reduces, acceleration and speed can be increased in this manner and would be save a lot of energy
EMUs are great for high frequency services like small day time expresses, Regional trains and Suburban trains. We can have high frequency, fully AC, fast EMUS running regional services at affordable prices on major important sections with high passenger numbers (like Delhi - Kanpur, Howrah - Patna, Mumbai - Surat, Surat - Vadodara, etc.) at an affordable price. These won't be luxury services but a significant step above the current MEMU and passenger trains (Vande metro can be used for this). This will eliminate the need for long distance trains to have unreserved coaches/general dabbas and useless stops as all those general dabba people will move to the regional trains (more reliable and frequent than having infrequent, random expresses as their only option) for their daily commutes. We will still have a lot of coaches and locomotives left. We should run more loco hauled express trains with higher frequency and we can do so by having shorter trains. Instead of having 22 to 24 coach monstrosities of today, we should have 12 coach express trains with a locomotive at one end and a cab car at the other. This will improve acceleration and turn around times, significantly. Instead of having just four or five 24 coach express trains between 2 points, we should have ten or fourteen 12 coach express trains. This will provide people with more economical options, increase the speed of trains and we will also utilise our locomotives and coaches. I also propose that non AC coaches should be completely retired in phases.

Bhai IR ke paas jo bhi trains unme better facilities hogi saaf safai ki better arrangement aur unlogo par fine lagni chahiye jo gandagi failate h , last thing ki trains time par aae ye sab hojaegi to vandebharat ki koi zaroorat hi nhi pdegi .

#askpt is there any possibility of export of Vande Bharat train set by ICF to other countries? Is there any country who has shown interest to procure Train18?
Government is actually thinking about Vande Bharat export. A standard gauge test track is being built to test the standard-gauge version of Vande Bharat.
The Vande Bharat was branded as a semi high speed train but the definition of a semi high speed train is 160-200 km/hr train. However most of the new vande bharat trains are operating at a speed of 120 km/hr or less. Also, i think these are overhyped as these trains are quite similar to tejas express and there is nothing special about them other than modern onboard facilities which we probably do not need. We need faster trains which reduce travel time. For eg, the Mumbai Solapur Vande Bharat train operates at a speed of just 70 km/hr and it takes the same amount of time taken by any other train on that same route. So i personally think it's overhyped and overpriced.

@@yatharthrajput7807 Thanks for the reply. main issue is money. majority people still can't afford bande bharat including students. for example, my current city and my home city are around 500km apart and normal train fair is around 300 rupees (AC seats are 600-700). the same ride in bande varate will be 1200+ rupees. so I don't think all people will be able to pay that. Have you compared the rate per km Indian railway charges for passenger traffic , it is 35%below cost , cross subsidized by railway freight fares which then become un economical , leading to loss of business to road transport , it is only the last 4 years in which diesel costs have shot up leading to road transport becoming expensive

I have been to almost every place of india to know even the basic problems in indian railway, which is why whenever i see marketing stunt for votebank politics i feel pity for their ignorance. Even the government know almost 95% people are ignorant, which is why these marketing stunt works🤣
Here's a fact you should digest,The Britishers laid down 54,000km of rail tracks in india before freedom and we just added 14,000km until today & maintained old lines/upgrade/doubling/electrified.

Really informative and good video. Thanks for opening this great analysis in common language
The main problem lies in the track not on the train we need more tracks and those who support high speed
But still it's not fully affordable, for me normal Indian railway is best i can go anywhere anytime

Certainly it can replace, but do you think people are ready to pay more for the journey of the same distance? That is highly unlikely!
Khudkushi karwaoge kya ? 2.25 paisa km de to rahe vande bharat ka aur kya jaan loge ?
Well, Railways should bring unreserved and non-AC VB also. But really need to maintain it by both railways and passengers.
As the middle class population increases that price shouldn't be a problem. How can we have modern and good stuff when we are always dragged behind by poor people, can't expect the best when you aren't even paying the price
Hearty best wishes Sir sree Sudhaashsue God bless you and your family
We need more and more trains, with freight corridor coming up, there will be more space available on the major routes (Delhi Mumbai and Delhi Kolkata)
More capacity is essential
People are loving vande bharat coz bohot come time me cargo aur logo ko pohcha rahi he
one more reason can be that Vande Bharat express is sort of a premium experience train and if we remove the normal locomotive trains with Vande Bharat express, it will affect movement of citizens from one place to another as the cost of ticket in it self is quite high as compared to normal locomotive trains
Cost of travel in vande bharat chair car is around 2.25 paise per km , name 1 country in the world which runs passenger trains at this rate, sab kuch free mein chahiye
@@rajeevpalthukral764 considering most of the passenger trains running in India are loss making due to travel without ticket even when its quite less then Vande Bharat Train .
We should wait for atleast two years
To fully replace conventional trains by vande Bharat..
Vandebharat are new
And we don't know what will happen after this train crossed certain time..
We don't know reliability..
So we need to slowly replace
So that if there is any issue with present technology of vandebharat
We can rectify that in industry
Otherwise we will have to face alot of issue in all trains all together at same time
EMU trains can be pulled by traditional diesel or electric locomotive 💥👍👍👍
There is no problem
even Two EMU trains can be coupled.
EMUs are better than locos on slopes. So what they do in what sections will not even need to be done. They can just run it as if it was level ground. But rest of your points are correct. Vande Bharat trains are less flexible.
#AskPT
Why IR don't use shared bogies or shared wheel technology in vb express?
In normal train their coach removing and adding is common but vb is trainset. This won't be an issue on vb
By shared bogies or wheels train weight reduces, acceleration and speed can be increased in this manner and would be save a lot of energy
shared bogies will have shorter coaches
I don't think that is a problem. It is more of a design choice. French TGV uses shared bogies but Shinkansen does not.
EMUs like VB don't need bankers on steep slopes because of their high total output and distributed traction.
And Electricity grid is not a problem. EMUs consume less electricity compared to locomotive hauled trains as they are much more efficient.
All train vande bharat hona chhaiye...
They should now improve the railway tracks so that trains like Vande Bharat can run at its max speed rather than 130kmph
Sir with all respect you are wrong, I live in Germany, the trains here are same like vande bharat since 30 years and they easily add new wagons whenever needed.
dont you think there color should be change now?
Good presentation! please reduce the volume of your title music which is played in the beginning. It is quite irritating as the volume is too high. Thank you
In addition to increasing speed. Indian railways should also on urgent basis get encroachment off the railway property.
Railway land can be used for commercial spaces like hotels, warehouses and retail to generate massive revenue.
Nicely explained. Thank you 👍
It makes sense to replace all long distant trains to VB. And Govt can also run few of the current trains for rascals who travel without tickets.

#askpt is there any possibility of export of Vande Bharat train set by ICF to other countries? Is there any country who has shown interest to procure Train18?
Government is actually thinking about Vande Bharat export. A standard gauge test track is being built to test the standard-gauge version of Vande Bharat.
And soon we'll see vande bharat with top speed of 220-250 kmph
This the power of indegenization.....
I hope our honourable railway minister ashwini vaishnav will take out the solution for this.
I still never understood why most Indian train engines are not aerodynamic, it literally makes things less efficient

Indian railways has a long way to go for upgrading the poor quality of tracks because of which Vande Bharat is running way below its actual operational speed.
Yes but surely last 8 years there is better improvements in railways infra
Electrical lines
Clean modern stations
Vande bharat trains
Dedicated freight corridors
Much better improvements than previous government 😊😊😊
#AskPT Sir, in this new India and in the year 2023, shouldnt vande bharat be the normal train that runs ? In comparison to trains that run in europe and Japan, shouldn't we have high speed rail as the premium ? When I see countries like China and also any other successful country, I see high speed rail and air connectivity. Why are we a decade behind the world in all aspects ?
since VB is replacing Shatabdi express which was also the premium train and most probably in future vb will replace all premium train.
@@yatharthrajput7807 Thanks for the reply. I meant Vande Bharat should be the normal trains in india running in 2023 and that even vande bharat is not meeting the standards of service that Japanese and Chinese trains have. High speed bullet trains should be replacing the premium trains in India like shatabdi. And in 2023, its already very late. I really want to see air conditnioned public transport in India. Air conditioned bus stops, electric air conditioned buses, Air conditioned local trains etc.
main issue is money. majority people still can't afford bande bharat including students. for example, my current city and my home city are around 500km apart and normal train fair is around 300 rupees (AC seats are 600-700). the same ride in bande varate will be 1200+ rupees. so I don't think all people will be able to pay that.
I think it will be a gradual process. with time, per capita gdp will increase and infra will also improve. and hope fully all trains are replaced by BV or even better trains in next 10 years
Have you compared the rate per km Indian railway charges for passenger traffic , it is 35%below cost , cross subsidized by railway freight fares which then become un economical , leading to loss of business to road transport , it is only the last 4 years in which diesel costs have shot up leading to road transport becoming expensive
When will they upgrade tracks
And when will they reduce ticket cost
Vande Bharat has separate benefits and Lhb coaches has other benefits but ICF coaches are bad so they should be replaced totally...
Vande bharat coaches are being built in those same ICF work shops
@@rajeevpalthukral764
Yes, but Vande Bharat coach design is based on LHB coaches. The body shell, undercarriage and bogies are derived from LHB coaches and have been improved upon.
Also, ICF produces LHB coaches too, in large numbers
Vande Bharat train in awesome but similarly all the railway tracks should also be upgraded and modernize. Fast train doesn't work until tracks are capable ot fast speed.
Does VB have the same safety features like the LHB coaches?
vande bharat & vande bharat metro aane se purani train pe load kam hoga kyunki dono train 50 to 300km route daily & weekly passanger kai liye acchi hai & purani long route kai liye acha hai.

We should develop a more advanced train than bande Bharat
We can be indigenously developed like a bullet train by 2040👍
