To calculate full load current of the motor the correct formula is
I= (KWx1000)/(√3 x V x Power factor)
For 30 KW =
30000/(1.732 x 415 x 0.8)
= 52.17.
Taking 1.5% of HP is not correct in all cases.
If MCCB is AC3 DUTY, it should take care of starting current. No need to take higher rating

We are applying 1.5 times of starting current for the MCCB that connects to the Motor because of starting current.
In residential building each MCCBs are connect to household DBs. If the incomer breaker for a particular apartment that is connected to the MCCB is 40A, then how we willl select MCCBs in the main panel ?

If TPN is rated 63A does that mean it can carry 63A load/phase.
If not then what does it indicate and how much load we can put per phase on 63A TPN.

If motor takes starting current 6-7 times of full load current during start up, then how we select mccb selection as 1.5 times of Flc...it must hv tripped.. Plz suggest
No it will not trip because motor draws high current in starting for very low period of mili sec and due to braking capacity of mccb it will sustain that current for that period of time and after that in normal running condition if motor draws 1.5 times of it flc then mccb wil trip hope u understand
